    How does the smaller cabinet on the S154 impact the sound compared to the 164? Is it less resonant?

    I see a lot of people demonstrating piano recording and saying that beginners can record one hand and then play the other, but they struggle to hit the timing. If they can't do it how would a beginner do it. I'm sure no beginner will use this feature this way. Maybe it's good for recording yourself and then play it back to hear your problems and fix them. Two (or more) track recording is not for beginners

    How about the ergonomics? Would YDP-164 be a little bit more comfortable because of the extra depth?

    • @ePianoscouk
      @ePianoscouk  2 года назад +2

      The actual size of the keyboard is the same on both models, so you'll feel no difference in how they play.

      Thank you. Yes, the pianos both have 10 voices. They are essentially the same but in different styles of cabinet. Read our complete blog comparing them here: www.epianos.co.uk/yamaha-ydp-164-vs-ydp-s54-whats-the-difference/

    Bonjour, si j'ai bien compris la seule différence entre les deux pianos est le "meuble" dans lequel ils sont? J'hésite entre les deux..(d'occasion bien sûr car je n'ai pas les moyens d'en acheter un plus récent) Merci pour votre réponse

      @@ePianoscouk Adjust? As far as I know the sound cannot be EQed or edited on these 2 models. Am I wrong? However, I'm looking for a digital piano with a ballad/mellow tone and these sound bit too bright (from what I can hear on YT). Let me know if it's not the case please, Sir.

      Whichever look you prefer, they are otherwise the same piano. The S54 is slightly smaller. He says it at 5:20

    • @ePianoscouk
      @ePianoscouk  3 года назад +9

      That's right. They're basically the same. It's just the cabinet designs are different. S54 is more modern and slimline (good for saving space) and YDP164 is a more traditional design. Hope that helps!

    • @tbparador
      @tbparador 3 года назад +1

      @@ePianoscouk Hi Thank you for your video. Since the cabinets are different it seems that when you are playing the distance or angle between pedals and keyboard are different since in the YDP 164 you can have your legs more inside the cabinet, hence the keyboard is closer to you and the legs are more stretched to the pedals. Do you think that the playing position is better on the 164 rather than S54? Thank you in advance

    Question: do you think these pianos are suitable for advanced pianists? I have an upright but it's in bad quality(out of tune, squaking petals, sustain problems, etc) and I was looking for a decent digital piano.

    • @GotYourWallet
      @GotYourWallet 3 года назад

      I would suggest trying them first in a store. Even the most expensive range of digital pianos I have tried don't come anywhere close to any cheap acoustic piano. I play on a stage piano myself because I like playing at a lower volume and the portability. If you have the space and no issue with volume I would suggest hiring a tuner and ask him about the pedals. I think it's between 100-200 Dollars.
