I watched a few reviews now and this is my absolute favorite! It's so helpful and the deep dive into the app really helped me getting an idea of how I'd use it. The comparison was as short but as informative as it needs to be, thank you! I want to purchase a piano that I'll have fun with for many years and I choose the YDP-164, because its (currently) not a big difference price-wise, so I'll go for the one with better performance :)
@@maritzaalberto5318 If you haven't already bought one I'd recommend the 164 if you have the money for it. The 144 is also great but lacks some minor features which explains it's cheaper price.
Thank you for this video, i bought the 164 and I'm so happy :) Can you tell me, what was that song you played at 2.27, 7.50 and 9.00 minutes? They are so wonderful, especially the last one
this review is sooo helpful! really like how Jay walks us through all the features! can we see other comparisons between YDP 103 and 144, and Arius and Clavinova
@Hoàng Peter but if ok everybody choose the less expensive one? Why do they say one has 10 voices the other one has 30 voices i really dont understand? ( i know the other differences but i really cant understand.)
i bought it one week ago , it's not for beginners , you can study on it and it's for professionals too , if all you need is piano and the feel of acoustic , not just arranger to make music on ,you will need keyboard ,really i love it
@@Mahmoud605 Thanks for your help!Sorry I dont speak Englisch, only Hungarian,or Germany but I need this info because i want to shop a new instrument. What I see, the 164 is very nice the sound and the price is good.In Hungary 1200$
@@zoltanfazekas9601 it is really a great instrument when it comes to touch and sound, i wouod recommend it anytime, it really gives the feeling of a grad piano with so pure and resonant sound.
Really depends on your purpose. If you just want a piano at home and you don't care about connecting to an external speaker, then YDP is what you want. But if you want take it somewhere else, want to connect to an external amp and more feature/sounds/rhythms, then p125 is the right one.

How is it? I'm about to buy one, but I'm between YDP-144 and the YDP-164. Need extra advice! :)
@@maritzaalberto5318 it so good. I love it❤
@@maritzaalberto5318 the Sound is amazing and the keys Feeling very good
@@Elias.gtr20 Nice to know that! So, do recommend me the YDP-144? Btw, have you tried any classic piece? I haven't found a demo with classic pieces...

Wow, these Yamaha Are You Serious look pretty great 😅
Excellent review. Very helpful. Thanks.
How were we to know, you just click on the grand piano ? Maybe in the manual ?
Fantastic job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thanks lot.
I own a 143 and I get the previous sound engine and no access to the smart pianist app, it’s a little annoying but oh well
Thanks for this detailed review. I just bought the 164. What is the name of that app??
Hey, Hank. The app name is Yamaha Smart Pianist on Apple and Google store. :)
Rosie Ellie thank you!!!
smart app has tons of voices. can i use all voices with smart pianist app if i buy ydp 164?

Does the app work with a windows laptop running windows 10?
How many layers are used for the piano sound ? Any one knows it ?
What was that song played in the start of the video?
Poses by Rufus Wainwright
Yamaha YDP144 or KORG LP380 or Roland RP102?
Yamaha is better. Korg isn't really good. And Roland is also ok
Can this be connected through garage band via software?
@@phoenixthepiano I decided not to get it. I coule never find a video to explain that part with more detail.
