- 2003 Interview with Larry Harrington (Rest In Peace) remembering his time in prison with Crips Founder Raymond Washington and his transformation from Crips to BGF in Tracy Prison. Squirrel spent the majority of his life in prison and died in County Jail while awaiting trial for three strikes.

I grew up in L.A. around bloods and crips and I never heard any of my homies or the o.g.'s bring up some 5 or 6 star shit.

Some of the younger generation in l.a. is now pushing that shlt because they see and hear fake rapper gang bangers from the south and east coast push that shit but that has nothing to do with b's and c's. I heard there was a big riot a while back up in the federal penitentiary in the midwest and in the riot some bloods clicked up with some latin kings and the bloods started incorporating and pushing the latin king star and that's how the shit came about. But whenever i hear that shlt i just think niccaz is mad posing and misinformed!
All I'm saying is "young old" niccas is lost and don't have permission to incorporate that star shit and make up their own rules based off L.A. knowledge. Shit fake to me.

My father was a product of John C. Fremont High School and my mother a product of Centennial High School, Compton, CA. I was born at Ross-Loos Medical Center. We lived on 78th Street and later moved to 135th off North Central Avenue.
The '80s were crazy. All I can say was that some no good bastards in high places executed a mission to destroy whatever good was happening. From Kindergarten to 8th grade me and my siblings attended the Summer Science Workshops at the Natural History Museum, LA. Our teachers were mostly black men and women. They held us to a higher standard and showed us nothing but love.
I haven't lived in LA for over 30-years. The last time I went home was to bury my big mamma. During that trip, I took my kids on a tour where I was born and raised. I couldn't help but get teary eyed. It changed so much and almost everyone I knew is gone.
I wish my children could experience the pride and the love I felt growing up. My kids have a hard time relating to my reality because 'we' have allowed outsiders to take control of our stories and narrative. So, I give props to this Channel for sharing his memories.

A lot of people die in jail because it takes forever to get medical attention if you ring for a guard...I was in their having seizures and shit and when I rang for a guard it took 15 minutes for then to answer and another 15 minutes to unlock my cell with just a guard without a doctor Then I passed out and woke up in the medical unit so only god knows how long it took before i got medical attention
