Thank you Matt, for being a such a good dude and letting Jake video tree work, so he can share it with us. Between this outfit and August Hunicke, y'all represent the tree industry very well and show what a true leader of a company is. I wish for nothing but continued success for your company! Thank you Sir!
Great job as always Jake! Love the new intro! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Jake, it is great having that type of boss who supports you in doing these videos. You give us a nice view of what the work entails and the way your guys go about doing it. My thought on it is that it would also cover you guys on an insurance basis incase something went wrong, you would have documentation on what happened.
Yinz should do a "Guilty of Treeson reacts to tree felling videos on RUclips." There are loads of videos about people who fell trees onto houses, cars, etc. I think it would make a great video. Maybe point out what they did wrong or common mistakes. Love your videos and keep doing what you're doing.
I love the dynamics and commodity of y'alls crews. The tree service I worked for back in the late 90's was a mess. Climbers thought they were God's and treated us ground crew like crap. The owners/ bosses were dicks.
I wish I had been with a company like y'all. Love the videos keep them coming.
Appreciate Matt allowing the videos and even showing up in one without lying down
hahahaha mathematician nick is a champ for handling all the crew banter
Haha 💯 Nick is awesome 😂
Having spent the last few hours falling down the youTube rabbit hole: I love your content. It's super cool that the owner is supportive of the channel (I work construction and will be throwing out your company's name when we come across a sketchy tree). Your videos are packed with great information and although I'll probably never climb a tree with a spinning saw of death, I have learned a TON about the process. Now I know why it's so expensive to get a tree removed, and it makes perfect sense. Can't tell you how many times I've tensed up watching, in your videos, a limb kick back or a shift when weight is removed. Great content, keep it up and BE SAFE!
You’ve got a great boss right there. It’s so great to see. And all you guys work so well together.
Nice change on the intro! Always enjoy meeting more of the crew and their talents! Keep safe all!
matt is such a cool dude. in the last video, i saw everything i need to know. the BOSS lays down and repairs a truck himself. absolute win! :)
💯
Not to mention in sandals 🤙🤙💪💯
That's exactly what I thought when I saw that, I shouted to my wife "Look the boss of east side is fixing the truck himself! How cool is that!?"
You guys should have a look at this to help stop bad bleeds. The tree cutters in the company I work for carry them www.celoxmedical.com/cx-product/celox-granules/
@@mikemawhood1901 funny how you replied to the wrong thread. :D but yeah, this might help if you are out and dont have anything close. though i do not recommend putting stuff into wounds, even if it is "wound powder" unless the situation forces you (i.e. far from civilization).
I'm so impressed with the rigging techniques you show. Caleb does a great job explaining. That being said, I would hang myself and no pruning would ever happen. I'll stick to bushes. Always enjoy, fellas!!
I'm terrified of heights, but I can watch these guys in the tallest trees, looking down at the ground. Yes, I'm even terrified of watching something from great heights on a video, but these guys make me feel safe. Don't know why, but I can handle it.
I love heights, and loved working up high a lot. Beautiful views and your generally all alone. I miss it a ton. One second of lapsed judgement by myself and the younger kid I had in the water tower with me and now at 37 I am filing for disability. 7 Spine surgeries, another coming up this month and I need another on my neck desperately. I can't walk up the stairs, let alone clime a tower or tree. Be safe, while it's a super fun job, it also has extreme risks to your health. I pray disability comes in pretty quick, otherwise we will lose our house.
Great seeing everybody share their knowledge and product reviews.
Wow! The production value of the show has gone up! Very cool man. Tree reality shoe that's actually awesome!
Narrator: "..something in Jake changed forever on that fateful that day.."
Awesome! Friday and a new Video ... best way to start my weekend!
You should sell “Guilty of Treeson” merch!!
@Guilty of Treeson @ Eastside Tree Works Great NEW INTRO ........actually I'm looking straight at your.....LOL.HAHAHAHA. Nice to meet 'ya Matt = great thing that you are letting Jake and the Team do.... Matt needs more Mango...LOL . JAKE =DUDE, you do more than just cut trees....As a fellow content creator = you tell the story MAN!!! Tell it LOUD and Tell it PROUD!!
Jake a.k.a. Treeson: I have a bazillion hours of raw video footage to wade through...
Subscribers: we don't care....we need more videos!! LOL
Thanks man very kind words 🙏
Hey Jake big fan, I work in another part of the industry that you didn't mention; powerline clearance, and storm recovery should a tree fall on the lines. We get contracted by energy companies to trim healthy trees 10 feet back from powerlines, and remove trees that pose a risk of falling over onto them
Funny you should mention this. Be on the lookout for an upcoming episode that covers some of this. It’s currently being edited.
I did line clearance for a little bit. People HATE us. But they hate losing power more...
@@batmantiss when people have a lot of trees on their property they appreciate the free tree work. But when they only have one or two trees and the power company marks them for removal they're not so happy when we come to cut them down
@@dr8614 it's been my experience people hate it when we "roll em' back"
Great dramatic video edit!!
Great video
Another great video Jacob. I like the new intro. Keep up the great work.
Caleb is hilarious 😂
The new intro is great. I hope you guys make big 💰🤑 bucks. Because this work is fucking crazy. Be safe . Love all you guys. You all have big 🥎's. Much respect. Take care from California- Debra✌️👍💪🤟😘🇺🇸
Enjoyed watching that 🌲👍🏻
That top anchor point at 22:40 is my nightmare. You can't see how good it is until you get up there, and by that time you've already accepted the risk. I wrap the anchor end around the trunk, with the hope that if the top limb breaks, the line will tend to fall inside and catch the next branch. Even so, you fall twice the distance to the next limb, and arborist ropes are not made for taking a significant fall (not enough stretch).
You should make a video on manipulating wood while you are climbing, different notches, positioning of notches etc. to get the tree to do what you want and go where you want
When your boss realises that you have nearly 220.000 subs and wants in🤣
I hope he didn't have to give up anything to continue!
Wow, love the intro (the 1st intro) lol . Looks great and nice techniques.
2:36 a cute angle 🤔🤣😂
I love this new format bud
Hey Jake! I've been watching more or less all of your videos (and im not even close to being an arborist, I work in IT). I really enjoy your videos, let me just say. However, just some constructive criticism; Sometimes it works because the idea is simple. Your videos were simple, the crew are awesome and "simple", the work is interesting yet pretty simple to understand. I like that you are putting in some more effort, but dont steer away from the simple things. You have a lot viewers like me, who does not work in this field, that just wants to see you chopping down a big fudging tree with good guys and maybe the occasional guitar riff. Keep doing what you do, greetings from Sweden! :)
Loved hearing the gear talk.
I love the talk through line and gear and what plan you have to prune these trees 1 Question will your boss grow a beard too ??
0:43 Doggo: "Hey what's going on? Can I be in the video too?!"
0:51 Doggo: "No really guys... Can I have some attention please?!"
Haix are an amazing boot that said never used the chainsaw version but the xr3 lasted over 3 years and are extremely comfortable 👍
Great videos. Thank you
I think I have tied same knot as jake an got same response when my uncle had to get it out 😂🤣
This episode changed the tone of the series. I wonder what is going to happen next and where it’s going.
Bill! Ahh-Woooo! Lookin good man! -Amnotte from centennial.
Is this the first video with the new full intro, if so, I'm liking it :) Also nice to meet Matt :)
Yes :) glad you like it!
I was at the grocery the other day looked to my right and there was a mango, so I thought I will give this a try maybe it will make me a better climber lol.
Was it a wet mango?
I'll never look at a mango again without thinking wet or dry.
@@JCCamp it was
Hi I woch your videos everyday tell the team I said hi and I woch thor videos everyday I love you guys I love the video

Set up.brotha.
So much information....wow
“Arbortraly” niiiiiiice.
New to the channel & i am hooked here
Great video Jake love the van as well. You guys are great
Luciano Paschoalini owner of L&C Landcare llc
from the Netherlands thanks for the video
Nice job and video
Good work
Loving the rope runner!
Caleb mentioned, the job is dangerous... obviously.... but is the danger human error, like not wearing proper safety gear, inattention, like not inspecting the branch properly & accidentally putting full weight on rotten branches, tossing a branch down unannounced or despite poor line of sight & hitting someone or s.th. below, Lack of planning, Rushing, like cutting off larger than ideal sections, or?
Looking and sounding more like a discovery channel program
Nice 'Pune Job', pune intended.😜
Have a great weekend with the families.
Great video!!
Nice intro! Well done!
Miss opportunity for Caleb lives in a van down by the river...... Great video guys keep up the great work.
Good as always👍👍
Cool vid
I tie my saw on as well. Also I had a pair of those boots love them.
How did you like the HAIX boots? I love my HAIX Protector Prime boots! I also wore their XR1 rescue boots before I retired from the FD and still wear their casual boots.
I'm a simple man. I like the video before I watch it because I know I'm gonna like it. Let no GoT video go unliked.
Nice one
oh nice !
Eye contacts 😂
This was awsome lol
Heroes wear Haix. Here in Germany they are renound for producing Shoes for Forestry, Firebrigade, Police and Army.
reale cool Video
Jake, in the future I see you as owner of your own video documentary arborist director (full time) . Like Bob Villa and Norm Abram from this old house.. wandering around the USA featuring great arborist and even new comers.. head down to Florida and do one with Travor Ahern.. you 2 will make a great video.. and don't beeped his cuss words.. they're hilarious
Nice.😆 😆.💪
I'm going to use the Sharpie cap recommendation. I just lost a perfect shot a few weeks ago because it kept snagging the crotch, even with half hitches going all the way to the top 1/2 " of rope.
Best video you've done hands down.I'll never understand peoples obssesion with haveing to make everything a music video.just film it as is???no need....Travor' was first to do this ..now everyine has sold out to the world.
i do the horizontal cut first then on a big tree then i will stick a straight twig in the far side of the cut then start your saw cutting the slope cut from your side at say 45 degrees and then aim the tip of the bar at the twig and hey presto perfect cut.
Nice work, but this time there was more chatting about things, and not enough cutting of things.. lol!! Great content anyways!! Have a blast of a weekend!! OOH!! Caleb, nice camper van set up.
I agree, more cutting next time!
@@guiltyoftreesoneastsidetre4792 I've been here since you were new on the YT world. Now is not the time to disappoint me, sweetie. This time has been informative, and I enjoyed watching you two crazy people race to the top of the tree. I laughed that Caleb beat you, and laugh every time you mention wet mangoes. Pruning is just as important as taking down big trees. Now behave and go kiss your wife. 🥰🤗🤗🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👌😎🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🐸
28:44 😂😂😂
Jake what are your thoughts on the Yosemite finish? Caleb seems to think it's helpful for a base anchor but I don't remember you talking about it in this video or in the past.
SIIIIII EL SALVADOR FAN
33:10 is where Jake's shrimp allergy is starting to play up
Hand Sanitizer is great for getting rid of sap
Take a bite put it through your handle from from right to left then come back under both strands of the rope and wrap it around your chain brake pull tight. If that makes sense for tying on your chainsaw
Best way ive found to tie a saw on is to just grab a bight, put it under the trigger handle, then under the wrap handle, then around the chain brake. Pretty foolproof for any top handle saw. Might sound too simple but ive dragged it up through loads of crotches without any slippage at all
I concur, easy on easy off with a top handle on a rope.
You definitely should run the business
The new intro is great.
I'll stick to ground work 👍
Haven’t gotten past 21:59 timestamp or checked for any comments so if this has been addressed I wouldn’t know at this point but please remove the Velcro covering the windless from the TQ. As he mentioned it’s a dangerous job and an arterial bleed can deal you out quickly. Unless there’s something about climbing trees that makes leaving it covered more optimal/safer over all for your particular position, it being covered will render the TQ useless until its removed allowing the windless to be operated. Sweaty, bloody, sap covered hands will make that all the more difficult to remove when you need it most, not to mention the adren dump and panic. Be safe guys love the vids and hope you never need to use that info.
what is the best advice you can give to a guy just starting out in tree work/wanting to start climbing?
Which knot do you prefer too use, a cloves hitch over a timber hitch?
Isn’t $250 cheap life insurance. Besides it makes going up the tree easier. Well at least looks easy. Enjoy watching you guys.
A video on how to "walk " the rope closer to the stem would be nice
Dinner music? At lunch?!
👍
calub should get a raise just for carrying a tourniquet
My sequoia leg straps do the SAME THING!!! It's really annoying even for just a professional homeowner. If you find a good solution for it please post it here!
What tool was used to get the rope over the dead branches it’s cool and I kinda want one
😀
Where do you get the tunes you mix into these videos? I'm a 80s metal head.. Guitarist 4 fun.. & I saw dude on your crew rippin bluegrass @ lunch.. Wondering if Ur using his studio tunes?
1st one here
I would like to work with you guys I'm very interested to learn
What did you think of the new boots ?
Question: Why don't Lumberjacks shout "Timber" anymore when a tree is about to fall?
Is the channel yours or do you share the profits with the lads?
