- In this video i will show you this brand new 2020 Acer Aspire 7 Series Laptop A715-41G (in this video i use the model: A715-41G-R5LR with AMD Ryzen 5 3550H, Nvidia GTX1650 and standard 8GB RAM). Show you how to disassembly the notebook and upgrade or replace the ram, replace the battery and give you a quick overview.
Description, how to:
-Upgrade the RAM / memory
normally you can upgrade up to 32GB (2 x 16GB SO DDR4 2666V), maybe its possible to upgrade up to 64GB (2 x 32GB) but there are many many models on the market. In this video i upgrade to 32GB and use standard Lexar memory.
- Informations about the mainboard / motherboard.
Important is that you cant change the CPU / processor or the graphic cpu nvidia GTX
- how to clean, replace the cpu and graphic fan, cooling fan and heatsink
- find and replace the m.2 NVME SSD (in this model 512GB PCIe)
- how to replace the bios battery cr2032
- how you replace the battery / accu, in this model AP19B5L 3350mAh
- Replacement of the keyboard - The keyboard is fixed on the top cover. You have to remodel all the parts with motherboard.
- find the touchpad.
- find the m.2 wifi Card
I also show how you can go to the bios (press F2 at start) and enabling the F12 Boot menu to boot from a USB stick to install a OS like Windows 10 or something.
This video is for A715 series. There are many many type of models on the market with different cpu.

Fun to see an 'expert' do things in an order guaranteed to cause a destroyed system and full reinstall. Always fully disconnect the battery first before performing any other actions. Happy upgrades!

There only two little differences with the laptop in this video : The RAM slots are slighty differents (you can just add it in front of the other at 30° and just push it) and also because my laptop has a HD, the black part at the back is connected with the hard drive so be careful guys when you remove it !
You need to disconnect the battery from the motherboard first before performing any actions with components.

Thanks for this. Was struggling to find any solid info online if this laptop has an extra HDD slot (some people said yes, others said no). Stuff that's important to us techheads but that no retailer cares to provide solid information on. Struggled to find a tech manual for it with specific specifications also (just seems to be a user manual that tells airheads how to boot up Windows lol), but I can see from this video that it does not. So thank you ^_^.

Nice, detailed video! Just bought this laptop but with the 5500U, the screen color accuracy is poor, could I change the better panel for this laptop. Used to use MSI and Thinkpad laptop and the third party screens replacement was available, but with this device I don't really know.

TL; DR: All good.
For gaming: all good, 5500U full load temp with 28 ambient temp is ~ 86 at max.
For work: Unity 2D, Excel are all good.
And now that you mentioned that, I purchased this laptop from a guy who just bought this ~ 2 months for the price of ~ 620$ what a deal. The reason he sold the laptop was to switch to a Intel based one, he told me that AMD CPU is buggy which I'm not so sure cause I'm don't know what kind of works he was doing that result in buggy stuff but for me. All good.
I also upgraded to 16GB and 1TB M.2 SSD.
The pre-installed RAM is x8 which is good considering some of the current practices is to ship the laptop with x16.

You can clone in external drive or can do a fresh installation as the OEM key is associated in your BIOS.
I made a clone of the original drive through USB to the new SSD drive (had to buy a case for it, for USB connection) with Mini Partition Tools Wizard Software (using "Copy Disk" option). Worked well.

Digvijay Singh no you can change the mother board if it’s from the same laptop ex: aspire a715-73g motherboard won’t work in a 41g but another 41g board will work with another 41g laptop

your ram sticks don’t have to be the exact same only matter that’s it’s the same clock speed and matches the ddr of the old stick

It is bad to do a hard shutdown such as in the begging of this video. You should not do that unless you have no other options!
it dosen’t really matter unless the computer is doing something very important and you hard shut it down
ryzen 5 3550h does'nt support 2666hz Ram. Its max clock speed is 2400hz

@CARL JOHNSON Yes it will work but check ram frequency from task manager. It will show you 2400mhz. It will utilise only 2400 mhz. You can't expect 2666mhz. As ryzen 3550h cpu running on 35tdp. That is why its not causing any damage. But speed will will remain same
it will still work with 2666hz ram it’ll just clock it down to 2400hz
