Lyrics:
There's an old flame burning in your eyes
That tears can't drown and make-up can't disguise
Now that old flame might not be stronger
But it's been burning longer
Than any spark I might have started in your eyes

Todays “country” music will NEVER compare. ❤
I have stopped watching CMT music videos.
First of all you saying your not a country guy done it for me because country to me is everything so idk what's up with you but anyway glad you came across this song and you are really missing out because COUNTRY music is all there is!!!
This band was great
I watch cmt throwback videos every thrusday and watch 90s country music videos every wesnday and Friday. On Cmt And watch heartland country music rewind every week ❤❤❤❤❤❤
NEVER
FOLKS THIS IS REAL MUSIC!! THIS SO TAKES YOU RIGHT DOWN MEMORY LANE TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS! PURE CLASS!!😊👍
And hearing Alabama and watching Randy Owen sell it too. Their voices, his facial expressions, and his little hop never gets old.
@@Traci59 👍
I have always loved Alabama music..I just turned 77 years young , because music has a way of lifting your spirit and taking you back to long ago...Randy Owen has always been my favorite singer of all times..
@@barbaramclendon7967 💜👍
One of the best Country vocals and Harmonies you'll hear, like hearing a Great Eagles Track with most of the Backing taken away, reminds me of Mo Bandy and Band in the Mid 70's. (Just add The Eagles are the most Fantastic Band I ever seen Live, with the Orchestra and without)
How can you not like Alabama
I'm not a country guy like at all, but a little while back I bought this old busted up cassette tape called country gold that had a bunch of various artists and songs on it from back in the day. This song was the opener of side one. Two full rotations through and I was belting this this one out loud lol
Not a born country girl but now live in a smaller town, and like it, a d love Alabama!
Love this song
Group good bunch of singers
This video is great. Thanks
It's a really good tune by Alabama and it's not a sappy tune at all lol
Good Lord Jesus...I want to go back.
ME TOO!
Maybe an honest effort to go back?
@@soniaelizondo365 we're too old.lol
Wow, you're not kidding!😢
Today's country isn't country music
Absolutely correct, I have a classic country playlist on my channel, if your a fan of the real classic country I invite you to check it out
Yes it is. You know they said the same thing about Alabama in the 80s? Listen to the song Tar Top, they talk about it there. Don't be like the haters in the 80s that said 80s country wasn't "real" country.
I’m 22, and honestly I wish this type of country was still popular! Nashville needs to get its act together soon!
Trying to bring this kind of country back.
I’m with you!
Sometimes I call the radio station and request this “old” country.
I love this country music so much better than today’s stuff. I’m just going to be respectful and keep it like that😀
Right
Their music never gets old, I can remember weekend mornings Mom listening to Alabama, Conway Twitty, Billy Joe Royal, Earl Thomas Conley, Keith Whitley, etc. while cleaning the house, funny the memories that stick with you throughout the years.
Love to see that us Alabama fans are still commenting on these wonderful old songs. Good never goes out of style.
I remember when they put out their first hit. I was in love with them then and now.
I bet you two cougars liked that part when they showed Randy’s backside didn’t y’all. Lol My Mom loved ole Randy Owen also
Mike.
Great
'Old'?
Couldn't agree with ya more Janice. Alabama turned the corner on progressive country. Not like today's cookie cutter artists. Just ain't interested in the new crap country.
This is real County music unlike County music today
Funny, critics said Alabama wasn't country in the 80s. Now you're doing it to today's country. Think about it.
Who's here in 2020? Love you Alabama! You are true country music..not like todays music.
If this one doesn’t bring back memories..wow .. it’s simply the best thing ever
70's,80's 90's is what I grew up on this new shit ain't got no heart.
2021 !!!

My heart hurts! Rest easy Jeff...you will be SO MISSED! Thank you for all the years of the best music!
What a perfect voice for this song I love this lyrics. How are you Teresa ?
🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️❤️🇺🇸
I drove a truck for 29 years and I'd always plug in a Alabama tape late at night to keep me awake thank you for the music
Alabama will always be my all time favorite country band. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Starting listening to these guys when I was in high school and I am almost 60. Still my favorite band to this day! Their music never gets old!
They started singing in the late 70s
I'm 71 so yes, he could have heard them in highschool - since he probably graduated around 1981.
I started listening to them when I was 17. I’m now 53 and listen to them almost daily. Been to 13 of their concerts. Favorite band of all time!!
Yep, class of ‘84 and remember them well, especially when they played the Houston Rodeo. Still have the ticket stub in my senior memory book, along with a George Strait stub.
This song is a good reminder of your very first Love.
You don't forget your first love, whether it's by :
Nature
You met in kindergarten
Married
Divorced
Abandonment
Moved away
Death
Or something else
You don't forget your first Love.
That’s how it’s done ladies and gentlemen. The talent here is unreal.
The memories of seeing Alabama will never fade ❤
Just saw them last night!
My band opened for Alabama about the time this song came out. What a night we had. The guys were so nice to us and let us use all of their equipment at the gig. I got them all to autograph my guitar and I still have the guitar.
I remember throwing quarters in a bucket at the Bowery in Myrtle Beach, SC!
This takes me back more than 30 years, hows that possible? Loved this band!
Me too loved them.
In 1981 8 Track tapes were still in fashion when Alabama created this masterpiece. I am listening in THX now. 🙂
one of the best groups of all time
just saw them this past Sat. night.......
absolutely
Yeap alabama bob sieger and AC/DC saved waylon and willie saved us in the late 70s early 80s from disco.
They are the best country band EVER. Nobody even comes close to them
'One of' ??? the Beatles amd stones wish they had half this much talent
one of the best song Alabama ever made
Marianne Barnes I agree pure country.
This and Close Enough To Perfect are the best. Old Flame is the best though
I actually prefer their older stuff.
R King This is their older stuff
Yes one of the best pure country songs, but sadly very under played in my neck of the woods,
im 10 years old ive been listenin to alabama since i was 6 i met randy owen in fort payne at his house i wish country was still like this
Country music needed Alabama,
Alabama came along exactly at the right time,
Just a great great band
When they sing together it becomes pure magic...
Man, you can't beat old school country Alabama. I've had their lyrics in my head all of my life.
The greatest country band of all time. Rest in peace, jeff cook.
Miss you Jeff. ❤️😥 Know you're singing in Heaven's choir now. Love my Alabama always❤️❤️❤️❤️
Man the memories of my late wife. Sure miss her.
A grown man sitting here with tears in his eyes! So many memories that this song brings back! Time slips away so fast! I was a young man then. Now I’m knocking on seventy. So yes, this music pulls at my heart strings!
So curious. Hopeless romantic here. Did you have an old flame? If you did, did you go back to find this person? Why or why not?
Me too Crying my heart out Memories hurt sometimes
I've loved Alabama as long as I can remember and when I hear their songs, I still feel a stirring inside.
When your 17 and this is what you listen too. Kids today are missing out!
Jeff Cook is one talented guy. He can shred a guitar and play a fiddle and a piano like nobody’s business. I’m sad he had to retire due to his health problems
Buddy Holly
Thanks
Amen!
Leanne
Just saw Alabama in Nashville July 3rd, 2021. Randy's voice is still as strong as ever. There will never be another Alabama. I'm so glad I got to see them - finally! I've been a fan for 50 years!
I got to see them years ago - many years ago lol ... they did autographs after the show. Got my album signed - it was right after Old Flame came out.
I saw these guys in the late 80's. Fantastic and of course we girls called them "hunks" wow so much has changed ty Alabama for the great memories
Glad to see they are still touring!! I saw them several times here in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s. Best band ever!!!
i find it impossible to listen to this only once.
Truth be trolled I’m with ya
No one can!
I am 59 now and this takes me back, maybe my teens but definitely I was a much younger man.
They were the best group in Country Music. Love hearing these songs again.
I do too
They still are
Mac McAnally is one of the greatest songwriters around! This song is just an example of his work. Many of his songs were recorded by Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Sawyer Brown and others. He has recorded many albums and was 10 times CMA musician of the year. He's an amazing talent!
Doesn’t get much better than this! Jeff Cook and that double neck guitar is Pure Country Gold!
Rest in peace!
My very first concert! Cleveland…1983…can’t wait to see you again!
that my friend is country music as good as it gets
david phillips you said that right.
Hi Dave 👋
Amen
Damn straight music like that is a total what country should be right
Amen David
I am 22 years old, and Alabama has been my favorite since I was old enough to listen to music. For my 18th birthday my Mom surprised me with tickets to go see them in concert, and it was one of my favorite memories. They sound exactly the same!
Saw them in concert in Norfolk about 40 years ago, Juice Newton opened for the, got backstage got autographs and pics. Great guys to their fans.
I remember waiting for each and everyone of their new albums to hit the store. I would buy it the day it got to the store and listen to it in my pioneer cassette stereo in my old 1977 ford truck. DAMN those were some great times.
i have them all
I had em on 8 track tape,, I AM old 😲
Me too!!!! I was hooked on Alabama from their very first song!!
We had no idea how well off we were.....
@@diverbob8 very true. We truly didn’t know how well we had it. There was more harmony in the public and in the songs.
Fort Payne has got to be proud of these musicians.
Beautiful song
Been listening to Alabama's music since the 80s. It really takes me back. The vocals and harmonies were always so on point, no cringey "out of tune" moments. Back in the days when talent was required. The best!
I thought this was going to be my theme song, I met the love of my life, we broke up for 4 years, I never got over him, fortunately I didn't have to. We get back together and stillngoing strong 36 years later.
Sometimes it takes distance to realize what we had.
Real class
Awww when country music was country music. Saw Alabama at the Puyallup Fair long ago. Still love their music.
I love this band so entertaining unique voices. How are you Kala ?
I have been blessed to have the chance to see these guys in concert 3 times!!!
They have a wonderful show and you were never were disappointed
june jam baby
❤. I Love You Randy Owen ❤
R.I. P. Jeff Cook!!! Awesome Music made by a great Band!!
Real Country Music !!! 😊😊😊
Yes, these guys were considered "pop country" back in the day. But their songs mainly came from the heart, or they told a story. They used real instruments instead of auto tune or computer generated drum beats. Just genuine country music with a dash of 80s pop mixed with it
They used synths on some of their songs in the mid to late 80s, like many country acts did at the time. They were considered equal pop and country in their heyday. If you listen to an album like "Just Us" you'll hear a lot of pop sounds. Great band nevertheless.
Amen! You can actually say the same thing about many other 80's country artists who got a lot of criticism for being too pop back then. As you said, their music at least still had heart and meaningful lyrics. I'll easily take Alabama and the rest of the 80's country greats over what's mostly on the radio nowadays.
WOO PIG SUEY!!!!!!!!!!! No joke though we suck right now. I might have to become a crimson tide fan at this point.
Alabama was a hard act to follow back in the day.
One of the best group I ever seen or heard such a talented group
hands down there is not a group that come close to the bama boys keep doing what ya do best guys love your music
Reminds me of a lost love 30 yrs ago still love him wish he would come back
I lost my love 30 years ago. I moved on as life would have it. I have been married 25 years and we have 3 wonderful children. I love my husband but iften times my heart aches for my old flame. It's not right or fair to him or us but what does one do when the heart doesn't ever really let go? My flame never went out and if ever we ran to each other, no doubt my eyes would give me away without even trying. 😭 I would hurt either way. Pride...a root of evil. We let go of people we love over pride and then long for them.
Same here i think of him every minute
My favourite song by Alabama just beautiful🙏🦋😇❤️☘️😍
Just a band that played in Myrtle Beach until they discovered 3 part harmony. That was genius and rocketed them to fame and success and they became one of the most popular groups in history.
They were known as Wild Country before they became Alabama.I remember when they used to play The Bowery in Myrtle Beach but I also remember when they played Chief's Lounge in Greenville SC..many years ago....
Damn he was sexy! Loved Alabama as a teen in the 80's and still love listening to them... Takes me back. 💙
Yeah me too...i was 13 when this album came out. Love it, always will
I have always wanted to see them in person my favorite group

this kind of country music ages like a classic car the older it is the more people want it ! these older songs are diamonds this shows real country music and the younger generation hear these older song most of them are like wow where has this been hiding and your grandma and grandpa was listening to it before it was cool these guys like Alabama , Hank jr., Merle Haggard , the list goes on remain popular because no matter who comes along no one will replace them or be any better they are the staple of country music

Raised o. Old Country. ❤
old flame is an awesome old tune!!!!
Yes It Sure Is!!!!!! This Is Timeless I Absolutely Love It!!!!!!
The Harmony at the start of the second verse is just perfect.
Love this song listened while driving on the 99 from N Calif & thinking of his old flame (HRB)
I was one of the people that kept saying Nashville needs to get back to this kind of country music, REAL country music. But now I believe Nashville is not worthy of this great music, they have made their bed now they can lay in it.
This song makes my guts roil and gives me shivers, that voice can send you down that old that road of memories
I grew up listening to Alabama thanks to my dad, a big fan of the group and my mom, who has and has had a huge crush on Randy Owens since the 80s. I'm not sure if I heard more Alabama songs or more of my mom going on about Randy, but I enjoy listening to both for whatever reason lol
Real country music wish there was more of this out here today
it's amazing that the dude who is the lead singer is also playing guitar. i heard this is VERY hard to do simultaneously. There's not too many lead men who can do this.
ALABAMA.....The first supergroup!
A sweet mullet and the voice of a southern angel. I never get tired of listening to this...
I love old school this era is real music
Music like this never goes out of style
The first of a few number one hits either written or sung by the great Mac Macanally.
Also, this is the third of 44 number one hits Alabama notched between 1980 and 2011.
this was my late mother's favorite song & it makes me cry every time i hear it because i think about my mother
this is for you mom!!!
So sorry for your mom
JohnH20111 my boyfriend's mother died 15 years ago on this date September 3rd. 😢😢 she was a remarkable woman. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🕊🕊🕊🕊
I'm crying too.
John, same. My late mom loved Alabama. She wanted to marry Randy, lol. These old Alabama songs bring me so much nostalgia and I cry every time I hear them. It's like a connection I'll always have with my mom through this music.
@@tiffanietx1 Lol. So did my mom! she was like I am Mrs. Owen to you! LMAO! I will always love Alabama and will make me think of my mom daily when I hear them. I miss her.
This song mirrors my life ..I cry evertime I hear it
So do I still pine over the one who got away when I was about 17!
Absolutely 💘 "old flame" by Alabama reminds me driving on the 99 hwy from up North to LA 1994 !
Don't get much better than this, These guys Oak ridge boys the Statler brothers real music not the crap of today.
Yes it does!
This is such a classic!
I can almost recall where I was and what I was doing when listening to any of the ALAMBAMA's HITS!!! PURE COUNTRY GOLD!! Where did it all go? Jimmy
Guitar God, keyboards, best Fiddler east or west of the Mississippi, Helluva backup vocals...Lead Singer has some of the best help on the planet..
