Samantha Johnson My Dad loved them too. I didn't dance with him, but he played their music alot☺️ My Dad passed also, in July 2012 and now every time I hear Alabama I think of him.He died fairly young at the age of 61. He'd had a heart attack and a stroke in his late 40's close to the age I am now. He was disabled and sick for quite a few years. But the last two his Dr said his heart was only pumping 7% of the blood it should have. When he'd get out of the car in front of my parents house he could barely make it inside and would have to stop about three times and catch his breath. He'd also fall out of the bed because he could barely use his left leg from the stroke and he'd say that it would fall off the bed and pull him right out on the floor behind it. And fortunately I lived close and I'd go pick him up and put him back into his bed. Seeing him like that was very hard because he was so active before all that happened. He finally ended up in the hospital because he got what looked like a spider bite on that bad leg because of poor circulation. While in the hospital having bypass surgery to increase circulation in that leg he either had another stroke or his oxygen level got to low and when the surgery was over the dad I always knew was no longer there. We live I Lexington KY and the hospital he was in was about a mile and a half from his house and he asked me if we were in San Gabriel Texas and I told him no, that we were a mile or so from his house and he looked so puzzled when I told him that. It was heartbreaking for me seeing him like that cause he was a very smart and sharp man. I can only guess that it must be similar to having a parent with Alzeimers. Cause he was still alive, but the true dad was gone. They admitted him to Hospice a few days later and when they transported him I don't think they did enough to manage his pain and he was really struggling when he got there. Then they gave him a pretty big dosage of Diladid and he never regained consciousness again after that and he died about four days later. I miss him so much
First Alabama PLEASE COME BACK!COUNTRY MUSIC NEEDS YOU! Secondly if you having romance problems, play her this song.If this dont fix it ,it can't be fixed!

To all those here in the comments who've lost loved ones, you have my deepest sympathies...I pray the Lord above does all He can to help you and your families to persevere.
My husband and I have been married 28 years. This is the song we had our first dance to on our wedding day. After all this time it still rings true today. After children, deployments, and every day trials and troubles. There is no way I could live a life worth living without him in it. Every time I hear this song it brings me back to that day when we were the only ones in the room (with a 100 people in it). Alabama has an amazing ability to do that to you.
Back around 1986, up here in Alberta....I entered a radio contest to see Alabama in concert....and I won. I didn't know it included a press conference/meet and greet....I was SO excited! You see, I had a HUGE crush on Randy so I went out and bought a new yellow Summer dress to go with my tan. Unfortunately, only 2 members of the band where there. I was about 20 years old and disappointed that I wasn't going to meet Randy. Mr. Cook was nice but the drummer seemed to be in "a mood". They gave me photos and LP's which was really nice (I already had all their albums and cassettes). I also got a meal and limo ride to the concert. WOW! It was such a long time ago but it was one of my best memories. Although I didn't get to meet my crush...I did appreciate that special time. Thank you! I will always be a huge fan. This song is beautiful and the gorgeous gal in it is Catherine Kelly Lang...she's an American actress and was in a soap opera....the bold and the beautiful....if i remember right?
Wow, I've been researching this group. 21 consecutive number one hits on the country chart. THAT'S INSANE!!! And I've never heard this song before. It's so pretty. And I just love the video.

that's a beautiful story thank you for sharing it...
I miss him so much
Best country band ever.
No Doubt!
Agreed. It's the second best band named after a state.

I saw them once in Tampa Florida. We sat right in the front row center. It was amazing. They were only a few short steps in front of me. I’ll never forget that concert. Never
No she's never seen beutiful music untill Randy Owens grabs the Mike!:-3
Well hello Stephenie Hamilton. And thanks alot for not inviting me to go with you to see them. 1 out of 3 concerts? Not even once.
Me - I'm listening on Christmas night. Someone once asked my favorite song. "There's no way" I could pick just one, or even a dozen.
Lol 😂

Rest Peacefuly Jeff Cook 💗😪 Thanks for The Years of Music ... You'll be missed.
still miss him. 28 years later. Love you Jimmy.
I'm positive Jimmy loves you too!!!:-3
Marilyn, my name's Jimmy. Are you referring to me?
My husband and I have been married 28 years. This is the song we had our first dance to on our wedding day. After all this time it still rings true today. After children, deployments, and every day trials and troubles. There is no way I could live a life worth living without him in it. Every time I hear this song it brings me back to that day when we were the only ones in the room (with a 100 people in it). Alabama has an amazing ability to do that to you.
Hello Julie how are you doing today
Fly High Jeff Cook. Thanks for the great tunes.
Love this song. Alabama is and always will be one of my favorites.
@michaelsmith3550 ciao Michael! 🙋♀️😍😘💘🎉
She’s still in it! One of only two cast members who’ve been there since the first day, 35 years ago.
Wow, I've been researching this group. 21 consecutive number one hits on the country chart. THAT'S INSANE!!! And I've never heard this song before. It's so pretty. And I just love the video.
