    Lewis was always great, but he was almost god like in this fight. I thought Grant fought a really stupid fight but damn Lennox was just a monster that night. Even more of one than he normally was.

      If you look at this footage, michael grant slipped his jab and lewis kept his arm extended. It could be interpreted as Lewis trying to initiate a clinch but then realizing he had room for an uppercut. Either way stiff arming will always be a part of the sport because of how much of a gray area it is

    Lewis got away with his "hold the head down then throw an uppercut" antics. If you watch closely, he did it several times at 2:59-3:02 of this video. Then did it again for the knockout.

      @tigeranthony 7 месяцев назад

      @frank-ko6de Dude you're talking to not only a 4 decades long boxing fan but also a former amateur boxer. I KNOW the sport. To respond to your comment, when Grant used to accompany Holyfield to the ring (which you probably didn't even know) and as he began to fight and build up his record, his PHYSICAL APPEARANCE was always the reference point when his POTENTIAL was discussed. When he rallied to defeat Golota after being floored, the excitement for his future REALLY amped up. For him to give such a pathetic effort against Lewis and THEN accomplish nothing else worth mentioning for the remainder of his career kinda puts it in perspective don'tcha think? You're free to get your face out of his jockstrap whenever you're ready. Take care

    • @frank-ko6de

      @@tigeranthony For such an amateur boxer, you're clearly clueless about the sport. Lewis was notorious for cleaning house, everyone that fought him was never the same, and either retired or became fringe contenders. Fighters like Mavrovic, Botha, Mercer, all retired and were never heard from again, just like Razor Ruddock, who engaged in two tough battles with Tyson, but retired after facing Lewis. Guys Holyfield and Briggs, didn't retire, but we're no longer the same but became fringe contenders. He nearly retired Bowe, who was deemed as spoilt goods after being knocked out by
      Lewis in the Seoul Olympics. That only man willing to to take a chance on him was Rock Newman, as every other promoter would not touch him. He just a concussive punch that was combined with the training of Emmanuel Steward, who trained knockout punches like Hearne, Moore's, the BodySnatcher, Wladimir Klitschko.
      So sad you've spent all those years in boxing, while remaining clueless. That's the problem with boxing today, clueless nonsense like yourself talking about things you know about. Lewis was nobody you ever had business standing in front of, that's simply begging for a career ending knockout, and that's simply what happened to him and everyone he fought. Even Vitali Klitschko wasn't the same after fighting him but keep running your mouth. You ridiculous nonsense. Still waiting to know what you achieved in your career.

      Stiff arming has always been a gray area in boxing. Lewis would jab and hold it out, refs can't say it's 100% you if your opponent is pushing himself into your arm

      @@MB2.0 That is NOT stiff arming. He literally cups behind the head, holds, and uppercuts. There is zero gray area here. If Tyson had done that, they'd have never STFU about it and how wrong he was, etc. They liked Lewis because he's a nice, well-spoken guy who doesn't cuss on TV. Politics over actions. Just like Mr. Headbutt himself, Evander Holyfield. He pandered with his whole Christian gimmick and got away with headbutting guys all the time. And that's not a gray area called "stiff heading."

      @@MB2.0 Go to about the 50 second mark. That's the particular series I'm referring to here. Lewis didn't even need to do it. He was already winning, like most fights when he pulled that illegal move. He had already stunned Grant, who was a good fighter, but clearly overmatched and simply not as good as Lewis. I like and respect both fighters, I just don't like people getting away with cheating in any sport. One that I'll give you is a gray area is making weight. I personally think it's bs for fighters who, for example, walk around at 200, cut to 154, and dominate naturally smaller guys. But, what can they really do about it? I'm all for same day weigh-ins. I like when they do the 30 day weigh ins and 7 day. But, I understand the argument that having the weigh-in a day before the fight gives the fighters more hydration and recovery time, so it's a safety thing. But, the stoic libertarian-ish side of me says: Well if you play stupid games, like draining yourself so much under same day weigh-ins that you're weaker going into the fight, then that's your fault trying to gain an [unfair imo] size advantage. If you want to avoid head trauma from same day weigh-ins, then don't cut a ridiculous amount of weight. Fight in your proper f'n weight class. That's my take, but I highly doubt this world of little accountability/personal responsibility and victimhood will ever go back to same day weigh-ins.
