Well I have never worked there, but have worked in service industries. I have always used that phrase, as it was polite and certainly better than what was floating through my head when serving some of the "people" (insert eyeroll, sarcasm and profanity) that have crossed my path. Dealing with the public is always a crap shoot, yet,I was lucky for the most part, people had better manners back then. I wouldn't last a day at one of these establishments. I have witnessed some really shady stuff by customers - so bad that I contacted the store manager and corporate to defend the employee not the customer. Some people are just evil.
He never said he hated gays. He simply said he believes in biblical marriage being a man and a woman. And what in the heck does that have to do with serving chicken? Lol. Like, why was he even asked the question?
@BTIsaac yes hate the sin not the sinner. Show love and compassion for all because we are all neighbors. Just because you can't control what people are thinking doesnt make them hateful to you as a person. ESPECIALLY if they treat you like a normal human being. "Hey my religion doesnt allow this but we all good fam" like what's there to nag about?
Same, but I transferred to BOH once I heard they were understaffed and my mind just went "OPPORTUNITY!!!" Stressful during rushes(when isn't it?) but at least I don't have to deal with obnoxious special snowflake customers.
And also... chickfila restaurants are owned by different people so just because one manager says something doesnt mean all chick filas are suddently against gays. I know im not and have a couple managers that are gays themselves
I worked for Chick-fil-A for about 9 months a few years ago and most of this is very accurate. People would play this kind of game with you to see how many times they could get you to say "my pleasure;" saying thank you way more times than necessary. After a couple months I imposed a personal limit of two "my pleasure's" per guest. I'm a person not a circus monkey. You'd also be surprised at how many people can't say Chick-fil-A. They'd call it things like Chick-filla or Chicka--fill even after you'd say "Welcome to Chick-fil-A."
@@12012channel Not that I specifically remember, but people would be like "I hear they make you say my pleasure do you really HAVE to?" I mean technically I could just say nothing or say thank you back. But if I were to repeatedly not say my pleasure to people and leadership noticed, I'd get in trouble.
Joe T maybe not but please god get off your cell phone and don’t cuss me out after you got the wrong food because you weren’t listening to me when i read your order back.
Ally Vaupel YES! I work at a CFA and I won’t serve someone on their phone until they hang up. I don’t say anything to them I just look at them until they’re done. @@pamh.5705 I don't know if it is a big deal or not but "my pleasure" does sound better than "no problem". However, how you say it matters most. The reason the former sounds better than the latter is because the former conveys enjoyment/pleasure while the latter conveys that it was just not a burden but does not convey enjoyment/pleasure.
Omg the multitasking part is sooo true, i spent almost all of my high school years working there, i quit because of college (worst decision ever) but it really taught me how to manage my time wisely and how to juggle writing a paper with studying for other classes
After working at a CFA for years, I just couldn’t eat their food anymore once I left. The smell of the coater used on the chicken makes me nauseous. I always used to go home smelling like it because of how busy rushes got during the day. At least I got to dress up as the Cow once, it was a lot of fun. 👍
Could you guys imagine if the CFA staff switch with popeyes staff for a week the customer service satisfaction would go down hill at Chick-fil-A while the customer ratings at popeyes would go through the roof
I currently work at chic fil a and the one thing I hate about it that the customers like to take advantage that we are always friendly. Also that customers don’t pay attention to us when we repeat the order back to them and when they receive the item they come to us and blame it on us for messing up the order.
I love Chick-fil-A when I go there in the morning sometimes for breakfast no matter what kind of morning I have they always are so kind with their slogan "my pleasure."
It's hard on us costumers as well when you get behind them and they don't know what they want and you are in a rush to get somewhere. How do you not know what you want they just have chicken

When someone is on their cell phone & not ready to order I just walk away & move on to next table/customer... It was the worst job I ever had I was told to “turn down my personality while at work”. I would leave work crying every single day. Things like this are why when ever I tell people how bad it actually was for me they don’t believe me or tell me I’m over reacting.
I believe you. they don't really treat their employees good ( only the ones that they favored are treated with respect) it's all an act behind the scenes. I worked at a Chick-fil-A for 6 months and I was miserable and mistreated. Thank God I'm not working there anymore. Im sorry hon :(
Multitasking is impossible. When companies push multitasking what they really mean is constant task switching, which is unhealthy (extremely stressful) for workers and is inefficient.
Multitasking wasn’t impossible. I worked as a team leader at CFA. I’d be on the phone with a customer, bagging food for the drive-thru and monitoring the front counter rush as well. It’s all about experience and skill. 🤷🏼♀️ Drive-thru headset has to take orders and make drinks at the same time and before the double lanes, that one person was in charge of their drinks, ice cream and stocking their area all while taking orders. You were always on the move. Now most places have the double lanes, which splits the duties between two people making it a lot easier.
J K I agree with you somewhat. It is very stressful and if you are an individual who can do it, then you have a skill that will take you far. You have every right to your opinion and it makes me mad how people think it is ok to disregard it because it doesn’t go along with theirs. The millennial remark was really silly.
One time when I was at McDonald's I ordered my food and said " Thank you!" The lady said "my pleasure" I still wonder if she used to work at chick fil a
Great place to work for, I was a marketing director and team leader. We hired all walks of life as long as they loved people and worked well with others. The morale is really high because there is a common respect and unity as a family unit there. It was a wonderful job.
I’m addicted to Chick-Fil-A, I eat it atleast EVERY WEEK. I still have a good excercise routine which is burning off the calories but it’s just so good aaaaaa
@@beatdowncentral6986 that’s because there’s MSG in their food I know because I want to hear and Chick-fil-A in Latresce is that normal when there are so many restaurants that’s better and healthier
The store I work at is awesome. They’re very picky about who they hire (for every one person they hire they turn down 20) so all my coworkers are super nice and it’s the best job i’ve ever had.
It’s easy af, but working at fast food is just like working at any other fast food places. Management takes advantage of the workers (especially the hard working ones) and make them “team leader” which basically means that they do management work but get paid less bc they’re only “team leader”. My chic fil A would schedule me the hardest times only and the higher ups like “shift manager” would take on the easy shifts and make easy money. A lot of times I’d see them work the whole day to get the overtime hours, then leave when it’s closing time which is really the hard and annoying work. Their excuse was that they worked the whole day so they didn’t have to help... but closing is literally a pain in the ass in any fast food if it’s low staffed. So we put in 10x more work and effort to get only a few hours, while they put in way less effort because during open hours there’s a lot of staff helping you so it’s SUPER easy. They cheat the system with their workers 🤷🏽♂️
I worked at cfa for four years. Quit due to a intern manager being racist towards me and other Hispanics working there. We all walked out the following day. I hope that intern manager got fired. He doesn’t deserve a store. His name is Cameron Lovett
I work for chick-fil-a currently, and while I was taking an order in drive-thru, someone had the nerve to drive off without saying thank you, and then when they got to the drive-thru, they asked for the manager, and she told the manager that I forgot to say “my pleasure.” My pleasure is a call and response. Before, I could even read back her order, ask for any sauces, she just drove off without a thank you; she didn’t even let me read her total.
As a ex Chick-fil-A Team Trainer, I can say that working there was an experience I’ll never forget. Everyone I worked with was a joy to be around, and the majority of guests were very pleasant. The job itself was a bit demanding at times, but it was worth it when the paychecks came. It also made me see the food industry in a brand new light, and I have a massive amount of respect for the people that do this.
ATLien 1985 whatever policy they have, all I can say is they have a very friendly policy, and that’s why Chick-Fil-A’s community and system are running so well!

Being a fast food restuarant manager is extremely exhausting and stressful no matter where you work. I just left Wendy's after a year because within a year my health was in danger. I was working 80+ hours a week (salaried....not good), having to deal with rude customers, running the kitchen solo during a lunch rush, being sick and still having to work, etc. My heath took a down fall. Even now, I'm still with the company but back to being a "normal" assistant manager. It seems like it has gotten worse. If we get a chance to sit down and eat, don't sit in the lobby cause the customer won't care and will prob call and complain because you got a break. Yeah....it's happened before. But they were also factoring in monthly and quarterly bonus that we never got (the franchise I worked for owned over 100 Wendy's but only about 3 actually got their bonuses). But I put up with so much bs. I rarely got a weekend off and when I did..it would get ruined. I eventually had to go to the ER and was kept overnight because my anxiety attack was so severe and I was suffering from dehydration because like you said you could hardly get a minute to go pee much less eat or take a drink of something. I was suffering from depression and anxiety (both which I never had issues with before). And when I went in for a check up with my doctor my BP was 112/70 and I had lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks because I didnt eat a thing but a muffin when I got home at night. So I was promptly taken out of work for a few days so I didnt suffer a stroke or heart attack. And was then put on xanax. But the final straw came when a former employee who had came in high one night and threatened my entire crew, was hired back! Of course on my shift. Now I work in a manufacturing plant where I make more money and work Monday through Friday. I get paid good money to basically push buttons. And I'm not responsible for a single person but me. I’ve been saying “my pleasure” for 20 years in customer service. The owner of the restaurant I was a banquet manager explained the reasoning to my why we say “my pleasure” instead of you’re welcome, or no problem or something like that. It makes a lot of sense and works. I’ve been teaching it to my employees ever since. Chic Fil A didn’t originate it, but I appreciate they use it. It does work it’s way into your brain. I say it in regular life all the time. Lol
Was absolutely AMAZED the other day at the efficiency of the drive-thru at the Longmont, CO location. Especially during this pandemic. Lunch rush: 2 lane drive thru... Both lanes were 10 cars deep and I almost went somewhere else, but I pulled in anyway. They had at least 5 employees walking up and down the drive-thru lines in 95 degree heat. 2 were taking orders, 2 were taking payments, and 1 was directing traffic. The guy who took my order knew exactly what he was doing, the guy who took my money knew exactly what he was doing, and the girl who handed me my food knew my name, and handed me a bag that contained exactly what I ordered. Including the dipping sauces! ALL IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES!!! I wanted to drive thru again just to see if it was a fluke lol. Bravo Chick-Fil-A!

Ok, Here's the truth from a current employee. I work at chick-fil-A and I think they should have put some sort of disclaimer because not all of this is true. Each CFA is run and operated be private owners and so they can't just generalize. I love working at CFA. I wouldn't describe it as "physically and mentally exhausting" Sure, it can be tiring, but most of the time it's really fun. I would describe the atmosphere as being a youth group all-nighter at about three AM when everyone starts getting tired, but everyone is having a blast. It's not as bad as they're making it out to be.

People say Chicken-fil-a sauce lol

Multitasking is impossible. When companies push multitasking what they really mean is constant task switching, which is unhealthy (extremely stressful) for workers and is inefficient.
J K - YES! Proven fact.
This sounds like another millennial excuse
Try working in healthcare. You almost have no choice but to be great at multitasking and the risks are much greater.

All you really need to be a team leader is to be 18 (if you’re 18+ and not a team leader, you’re not very good at your job)
Cheezus Christ agreed, some are even team leader before 18
I worked at cfa for four years.
The store I worked at had a manager who was LGBTQ+. Fun fact #3: this is not a simple job and there is a ton of work from shift to shift and yes if you are in the dinning room you will meet some interesting karens. Fun fact #4: there is a lot of rules and its very strict. Easier place is dishes and the runner for supplies. That said think carefully before wanting to join the chick fil a team members near you.
How horrible, she actually got used to saying my pleasure as a response to a thank you. She should seek counseling
I know sounds devastating.. I worked at a restaurant taking pick-up ordered.
after I quit, it took weeks to stop answering my phone “(restaurant
name), this is Eva how can I help you?”
I don’t know how I survived. Poor me. 😂😂
The horror of saying My Pleasure. I hope that worker got the proper PTSD therapy.
Yeah having manners is traumatizing
They say "you're welcome" at the chick fil-a next to my house, not once have I heard them say my pleasure.
Damn we’re supposed to “have quality service that stands out amongst all other fast food chains 😀”
Disappointing, but not unexpected
Oh my goodness is the end of the world because they did not say my pleasure as long as the food is great, and the service was good I am not going to bed over backwards and call corporate or be upset because they did not say my pleasure. Entitled customers get on my nerves.
Chick - Fil - A is not what most people build it up to be! There are a lot of non-religious and LGBT+ people in my store. I am openly LGBT as well, and I feel no hostility from any of my coworkers or higher-ups. I often feel more accepted there than at school and my home. Chick - Fil - A employees aren't homophobic and ultra Christians, most of us are just teenagers who need money and like the free food lol
Wow. I see a lot of former workers who had great experiences here! Lol you wouldn't have liked the store I worked in at all.
Sexual harassment, drugs, general incompetence of management and workers, nepotism, favortism. Yup, that store excelled at scumbaggery. Good times.
Store culture is very important, also all the things you mentioned are very prevalent in the food service industry. I am glad you are out of there if it was that bad though.....
In NYC we have a great electronics store B&H Photo that closes before sundown on Friday and is closed all day Saturday. You cannot even order from their website during that time. I have nothing but respect for them adhering to their religious values. Good for Chick-Fil-A for sticking to theirs, especially with so much greed in our world today.
I got fired from Chick Fil A. They are descent to work with, but they think way too highly of themselves.
AJ D ok, you have to share that experience
Kokopilau77 I worked boh and it was such a drag. I mostly battered the chicken. If you speak little English they stick you on veggie cutting. We’d thrown the chicken (while bagged) on the floor as hard as we could to break it up. I will say that everything is pretty fresh. I got fired because I lied to them about why I couldn’t open in the morning. I told them my grandpa died, but in reality I was going to a Panda Express interview. They were mad, but it never affected me at all.
I worked at chick fil a for 6 years and i left there to try something new in my life, I've been in 2 different companies since then and even though its been since 2019 since i worked at chick fil.... i will say this... i still miss the atomosphere, working there and everything. You can't go wrong working at chick fil a. Its the the #1 best place to work at. I love everything about chick fil a!
Worked there for two years for first job. Good place to work, but hated that they paid minimum wage (in NJ) while the chipotle’s and shake shacks pay starts at 10.
Andrew C I work at Chick-fil-A now and the starting pay is $13
@@aikotanaka24 Yep, then again we do the work of two people most of the time so it equals out. I just got done doing a year in a store inside the top 10% of volume out of 2363 stores. Twenty six thousand dollar days, 179 cars in drive in one hour etc you know how it is. The pace is crushing and I have semi permanently injured my shoulder in the process. I probably will take over a year to heal.
I'm a former CFA employee....it was abuse but also gave me good values ngl
Same I worked at a Chick-fil-A in Kansas and it was really nice in the beginning but in the 6 months i was there I was really getting uncomfortable and mistreated by leads and the managers...
@@LovatoLover22 how were u getting mistreated?
@@TCMixes with out giving any personal into. I wasn't treat like everyone else
When i first walked into chick fil a i asked the cashier
“ no cheese burgers? “
Lastly we threw a surprise birthday party for a transvestite who was one of our regular customers
mashed should do a special on how WALMART employees
are treated, i would gladly go to work for chick fil A, over the way im treated
at Americas favorite retail store,
Quentin Heard uhh i don’t think walmart is anyone’s favorite retail store it’s just like a necessity and so convenient
@@alxofiedkxkxk1335
how ironic, i just got fired today
for the smallest infraction
Quentin Heard you were just talking about how shitty it is to work there how is it ironic that you got fired? i got fired from chickfila because i didn’t have health insurance and couldn’t provide a doctors note for being sick and i never had gotten written up or have shown up late that’s actually fucked
Walmart is no one's favorite store.
Then fucking quit
Just like QuikTrip. I worked there for 2years and we were trained to say Hello Hello all day and now 10years later I still say Hello no matter where I'm at when someone walks thru the door😂
Tiffany Russell lol! I always call Quick Trip the Chic Fil-A of gas stations👍🏽😊👍🏽
Got an interview with them tomorrow, wish me luck
Hey Casey How It went?
Bruno Foca i’m not casey but they did it over zoom & they called me the same day to say that i was hired. emily who interviewed me was SO nice
Bruno Foca sorry for responding so late, I was hired shortly after! Been working for them since October and it’s been a blast!
I worked at cfa and working there honestly gave me a sense of familyhood
watching this...i'm glad i'm a Wendy's person!
Vaughn Kopacz you work there ? Because if so what is like working at Wendy’s ?
@@elizabethb3416 i was chosen for an interview for chck-fil-a and it didn't work out...and wendy's, i just happen to enjoy their food loads better...thats all.
My former store we did insane volumes, we are talking about over 26,000 dollars a day, over six million a year and in a population density not as high as you would think. A slow lunch hour is about 155 drive through orders an hour, not including front counter. The chicken is ok, but mostly they are a service based company above everything else.
@@joshuasterling2144 i may not eat there nor work there, nor at wendys, but i'll admit, the polynesian sauce at chick-fil-a is sooo good.
i feel like the employees are so nice and respectful because they see how many bad incidents take place at pop eyes, kfc and churches lol countless videos and stories of fights and shootings between employees and customers so they are like okay to prevent all that we need to be extra respectful
