Although the typical Drake music is getting old (as we’ve seen the same kinda thing for the past few years), we gotta give drake that he has cracked the code for this specific sound that characterizes him and does the trick every single time. Its impressive how he ends in the top charts every. time. The flow just works. So maybe it’s not that he’s lazy, but he just wants to stay putting out his own sound.

I have to say as a person who is incredibly critical of Drake's music (Mostly because I think he has talent, but some of his songs are so lazy, and he is never trying to push himself.) I thought this song was alright. The beat was really simple, and I enjoyed the horns. By no means a bad track although I agree with him... dunno if I have the patience to sit through a whole album of these.
I agree. His last few projects have been boring to me aside from a few tracks. This is a good single but does get kinda tiring after a few listens. Other than that, I have high hopes for this album.

Durk literally been droppin nothin but heat for a long time now. I’m glad Drake looked at him as someone he’d want on a song. He deserves more attention like this.
what Shawn said about the ranges of the instruments vs lil durks voice actually makes sense. The trumpets are in the middle of the frequency range and therefore sound more like someone’s chest voice whereas durks singing is higher up and sounds more like a falsetto or head voice.

I think what you meant when u said the instruments are coming from the guts and his voice is coming from the throat is that the instruments sit lower in the frequency spectrum so when lil durk comes in at a higher register, he’s sitting in his own space in terms of frequencies so by nature it “feels” better compared to drake who sits lower in frequency which is closer to the horns
