Looks great. I’m glad there are people out there having a good year when it’s been terrible for so many. I try to remind myself on bad days, that someone out there is having the best day of their life.
I am sooooo impressed with your work & ability to explain your train of though with just launching your career in 2019!! Keep up the excellent work girl!!!
Awesome so happy to hear that! I can definitely relate to being a mom and doing things when you have to haha i color my hair in between appointments all the time 😊
I started doing bleach blond a little over a year ago with stylists that could never get it right so I started doing it at home - with both myself and the colorists I can always see a big line when my roots come in. I’m excited to try this technique
New Subbie ♥️🤘🏾 your work is absolutely GORGEOUS!! I’ll be trying your technique on my client tomorrow and come back to update you on the outcome..thanks for educating and sharing your creativity!
Essence of Beauty yay! So happy to hear that thank you for the feedback 😌 Are you trying the root tap or the root melt? Do you have Instagram? You should send me a photo on there!
Thank you so much for that! I am planning a video where i discuss what worked for me, i have been doing hair a little over a year now and i stay 2 months consistently booked out ! Thank you for watching! Xo
Great job! Question- would this root melt look good w a shorter hair cut? Think long layers on sides and about three inches below shoulders. Or would the drag of the shadow be a bit too low? Also would u be able to Wow comb this leaving out ends and money piece til end? DIY here
thats such a great question! what I do now is change the way I tone. before I would tone at their natural level, but now I use my same toner formula for the root first and let it sit for 10 minutes before toning the rest of the hair. I also add in about a 1/4oz of crystal clear to my formula for the ends so that they don't go too dark, hope it helped! xo
@Leah Watts yes it can so that depends on the level you are at. For instance, i only do this technique on my girls who have a natural level 8, the toner formula is a level 9 that sits on the base for 10 minutes, then i add crystal clear to make the toner about a level 10 for the remaining of the hair. Timing is everything as well as working in zones. Roots first (10minutes), mids (5minutes), ends/money piece (5minutes)
I want to do my own baby lights, and it looks like it is totally do-able as DIY. And I have a little experience doing my own hair color, and highlights, etc.... I am new to this root tapping technique. I had a quick question. Once I bleach my baby lights, and I want to tone them with a color, which I will use a level 9, can I also use that to root tap? Or should that be a different color? I am naturally dark brunette, and also covering some grays, which I did all my roots in a shade / level 5 a few days ago. Any suggestions might help with me being successful. Thanks so much in advance!!
Thats awesome! Doing your own hair can definitely be fun its just time consuming. If you want to feel the blondest then use the toner level 9 on your roots first, let it sit for 5 minutes or 10, then go with the toner all over. This will ensure the rest of your hair stays light and the roots get more color opacity. Good luck!
Plz talk about how a client should talk to a their hair stylist about exactly what they want so there is no confusion. I feel like sometimes you can show a picture of inspiration and the outcome is something different. Thank you
I’m new to root tapping. I always want to be as blonde as possible and am wondering if I should ask my stylist for this. So a root tap isn’t using color, but toner?? Toner literally washes out of my hair in 2, if not just one wash. I have to wash my hair with purple shampoo every time I shampoo and it STILL never stays that super cool tone I’ve aspired to have for years. I’ve tried everything 😔
Hey! Yes so I use a Toner for the root color as well and it will last 20 washes if the stylist lets it process for the full 20-25 minutes. When you want to maintain cool blonde, you can only wash/rinse your hair in cool water, use purple shampoo only once a week and when using it you have to let it sit on for 5 minutes. the more you wash your hair throughout the week= the quicker your toner will fade. hope this helps! xo
I have a client that has level 10 white ends and wants a root tap so that her roots coming through are softer and not so harsh. Would I use her natural base as a toner on the root and blend down, then tone the ends with a level 10 and clear? Or would you use the root tap technique so that the roots aren’t dragged down so much,
Thats a great question Hannah! Here is how I would tackle: always tone roots 1 level lighter than their natural color to avoid "erasing" the new hair highlights. Toning 1 level lighter gives off almost a sparkle/shine at the base that blends into the lighter hair. The amount you drag your base down depends on the clients end result and their request. I like to use tap technique on brightest blondes and a smudge/melt for level 8 and darker. I would omit adding Clear to your already very shear level 10, go in full pigment for longevity. Xo 😊
How do I stop my hair from going brassy so fast? I always ask for the coolest toned toner as possible, but it washes out almost immediately, even when using purple shampoo. What’s the trick that these cool toned blondes I see are using? Is it just luck?
haha aww you're sweet, I really need to Im getting ready to bring on a personal assistant to help me navigate my salon life haha hopefully that'll give me more time to edit and post :)

At the 4:00 minute mark - what did you do different to make her hair more blonde - did you change bleach formula and toners and root tap? Thanks.

@@TossledHair what do you use for processing solution on the roots before toning the rest?

What are baby lights ? Are they just really tiny highlights packed in back to back ?
great question! yes baby lights are a fine weave, packed back to back with minimal hair left out :)
Ok more videos please!!

IT IS THE RINSE FOR ME.... THAT IS WHERE I GO WRONG 😓😩😖 IT BLEEDS ON TO THE BLONDE !!!
ahhh that can be frustrating for sure. I suggest rinse with cool water if the root color is level 5 or darker :)
1:30 describes the difference
