It seems insane that a third party has had to fix this with tech that has been usable since the Saturn/Dreamcast (and even earlier really). I'd probably agree that I wouldn't use it for retro game due to the dpad placement, but I can always use something like an 8-bit do controller for that instead. If those sticks drift, it would matter less since I'd be using them for d-pad centric games. Would definitely love to see them incorporate the suggestions that you made in a future iteration, but for now, this seems like the best controller for me. Thanks for the review!
Same dude. I discovered this when ShortCircuit covered it (though I came here for an honestly better review) and immediately bought it just to support the tech. Hopefully this pushes the industry towards this tech instead.
The analog sticks are in fact swappable; GuliKit makes a set of alternative sticks (short, medium, and long) available for purchase that's compatible with this controller (I believe it was designed for the predecessor controller but the sticks still work fine with this one). Just pull them off (exposing a small hex post) and push the new ones on. The set that I bought actually has a sightly grippier cross-knurled pattern on them vs the ring texture on the stock sticks, so that might resolve your complaint about the grip too. The stock/included sticks are the "short" versions, so you can get options if you want your analog sticks longer than stock, but they can't go any shorter without colliding with the housing. Mine also came with an alternative set of ABXY buttons and a puller to swap them out if you prefer the Xbox-style layout, and the firmware lets you swap between the two mappings as you showed in the video. I did have one quality control issue of a small bit of plastic flashing being left on one of the analog triggers that caused it to stick sometimes, but the controller is easy to open up and a couple minutes with a small file cleaned that up and I have had no problems since. Overall, the controller has otherwise been great and it's very refreshing to have a basically "universal" controller that works with all the devices and systems I'd like to pair it with, no fuss.
May I ask where you bought yours from? Other than Aliexpress as an optional extra, I haven't seen retailers mentioning the additional buttons being included.
Another thing to mention is that they sell a button remover and buttons to give you the abxy layout Xbox has. You don't even need to open the controller up. It is like removing key caps from a keyboard.
Fun fact: the android mode is actually it connect as Xbox controller, so it might work on Xbox aswell and can be connected to 2 different PC with it's X Input mode and "Android" mode, you can use it both Steamdeck/Ayaneo and your laptop etc without having to clear bluetooth setting
What sold me on this controller, beside the Hall Sensors was the fact that it is the only third party Switch controller (that I've found) that supports Amiibos. That is so rare in my experience.
It's funny to me that up until this generation I'd never heard of stick drift. I've been gaming non-stop since the nineties and never experienced it. And now I've got 3 controllers (PS5, Xbox Series and a GameSir for PC) that all suffer left stick drift--there's some madness happening in the production of controllers recently. I've been looking at this KingKong2 for a couple months but have been waiting for shipping to the UK. I just hope it's reliable in all the other ways, which for 3rd party controllers isn't at all usual.
I only started encountering it with a Switch detachable controller. Fortunately replacement sticks for 3rd parties are common, even if it's the same tech.
I barely had any of it before the Xbox One/PS4 era, and it's only been worse with the Series and 5 stuff. Almost 100% certain they keep going for even cheaper, mass produced stuff, each successive generation of controller. Purposely built to not last since they love the additional money from people replacing
I have this controller and it's very nice quality. I think it's primarily made for use with Switch, because of the layout and the fact that it wakes switch from sleep. Its very rare for any 3rd party controllers. It also scans amiibo. I recommend it.
Well I think what it was is that they saw a market to correct the 'joy-con drift' problem that was most prevalent with Nintendo products, so they likely tailored this product to be a perfect replacement to the Nintendo offerings. Just a hunch though.
I finally got this after eyeing it for a year. Ive been using xbox controllers for a decade and i must say, i am very very impressed. The build quality is definitely better than xbox controllers where it matters and they feel more comfortable to hold. The hall effect thumbsticks are AMAZING. Theres very little getting used to. Only thing thats annoying is that its bluetooth mode is interfering with my headphones.
I love the controller but there IS AN ISSUE WITH THE DPAD You cannot hold left or right while pressing A+B multiple times because it DEREGISTERES THE DPAD INPUT FOR A MILLISECOND this is an issue for 2d platformers or games like megaman or castlevania. You will jump in place at random times instead of jumping left or right. Weirdly though it doesn't happen when you hold up or down. If any other KKpro2 users can test this out I'd be greatful. I've bought 3 controllers and all 3 were like this from different vendors even after the firmware update.
@@Savaril get a ds4... thats what i did... so know, if the game plays mainly with joysticks I get my series controller... if I want to play something that plays with dpad, I connect the ds4... also it's been long ago I stopped using additional software for the ds4... I use to use the ds4windows but now I just let steam do the dirty process... it gets the job done
@@Savaril don't get me wrong. The dpad is one of the best I've used up there with the ds4, but I'm not sure if this is a QC issue or if it needs a software update (the software update fixed the sticks on all three controllers) . I wish people would look into this because It's honestly I personally thing better than the xbox one and dualsense controller. especially on PC.
@@Savaril Xbox series x controller have very satisfying clicks d-pad , I'm also surprised by how comfortable it is to hold than DualSense, sadly it's not quite feature rich as DS, hence why I grab DS but my brother in law grab series X controller that's why I could compared them.
@@Savaril The dpad on the xbox series controller is criminally underrated. It is perfect for 2d platformers, shoot em ups, and fighting games. It is extremely tactile and accurate. It barely registers any diagonal misinputs while moving left and right consecutively, compared to other retro styled dpads I've used (8bitdo controllers mostly, those are notorious for unintentional diagonal inputs). And yes, I can understand that the "clickiness" can be a turn off for some, but it can get easier to ignore the more you use it. People use mechanical keyboards and arcade sticks that are just as clicky, so I don't see why the xbox dpad being clicky is that much of a nuisance.
We haven't seen Chicken in a minute. Hope they're doing alright. Thanks again for the video. I may have to consider this controller for the Switch for some stick-drift concern-free gaming.
Always shocks me to see how good the Forza edition series controller looks in videos, I'm so glad I have it. It just fits my hands right and the sports leather grips are actually really nice. It might be less grippy than the regular spiky ones but my sweaty ass hands didn't have an issue and this is probably more comfortable. I'm really in love with this thing, even the fact you can remove the side plates without tools is amazing since I like to clean the seams often (sweaty ass hands). Love that it works on both replaceable lithium ion and AA's as well as just good old wired. If they ever make this style of grip again or make it accessible through the custom controller site they have, I would love to get an other and would recommend you pick one up if you can. Recently started playing Breath of the Wild again on my PC and after a while I had to which off of my Switch Pro Controller because my hands cramped. There's nothing for my ring finger to rest on. It's still my favorite way to play Switch games since HD rumble, motion control and amiibos are gimmicks I enjoy, but the old trusty wired Xbox 360 controller I've used since I was a kid has been retired. Never thought I'd see the day, especially since I've started getting some major wrist pain when playing mouse and keyboard or playing melee with my GameCube controller. The D pad does kinda suck for platformers or 2D games, I'll give you that much but I love it for menu navigation and it won't stop me from trying to play Cuphead on it. (Also coming from a 360 controller the D-Pad is nothing to complain about)
A bad dpad can defeat any controller from being good and it seems like this controller is not the exception. What makes it so hard to make a good dpad? They should just license the dpad from sony. They make the best dpad. Once up on a time it use to be nintendo but even they dropped the ball
For anyone seeing this in the future, I spent three days researching this controller's QC issues so you don't have to, and I hope the below helps :) For me: 1st day of Gulikit KK2 pro: Y and A buttons feel sticking when pressing down... 2nd day of using my Gulikit KK2: A button screams when pressing down I've returned it, it is a pity I love the ergonomics of this controller so much but its quality control is so bad. More context: I can read Chinese, since the controller was made by a Chinese company I was able to read the Chinese reviews from BiliBili (Chinese RUclips-ish). - Gulikit KK2 Pro's first batch was a mess, Gulikit decided to make last minute modifications on the controller during the production and this f'd up the customers who bought the first batch. A few "Bilibili-tubers" even got into trouble for recommending and hyping this up beforehand and they had to clarify themselves that they were not trying to deceiving their subscribers who bought Gulikit KK2 Pro on launch. - A lot of the Chinese users would complain that the KK2 Pro's buttons would squeak/bind/stick, this was likely caused by Gulikit using plastic molding for their switches and the friction that produces the "click" was not consistent. Apparently you could mitigate that issue by either sand the contact points down or pull & stretch the contact points outwards. - Some Chinese users would go with the DIY route to repair this by themself. However by doing so some of them made the friction of the button contacts too lose so the button would feel mushy (instead of clicky) when pressing down, or worse, breaking the contact points completely as it's just a piece of plastic... Some had broke the clipping when opening the plastic shell of the controller. It was a mess to watch... - One user complained that after a year of use, the "bumpy" textures on the back of the Gulikit KK2 Pro was scratched and completely gone... A few users' KK2 Pro controllers had the silver paint fallen off from the shoulder triggers - A lot of users who got a replacement KK2 Pro controller only to find other problems with the replacements. This indicates a general quality control issue from Gulikit's side
Similar experience for me since I had spring ping on the Y button and a scratchy a button. Besides that I absolutely love the controller. I did send it back for repair and I can't wait to play with it again cause it's honestly the best controller I've ever used
Thank you so much for sharing this. I was searching for the same thing and your go-through on the Chinese forum to read about it is really helpful. Appreciate it.
It seems I avoided these issues. I bought the non pro version. I got it because it was cheaper but it doesn't sacrifice the hall effect analog sticks. The face buttons on my unit didn't have those issues and I have owned it for over a year.
I love my kingkong 2 pro for its great hand feeling and versatility, I don't have any complain so far. Just note to update the controller to firmwares V3.6 or above and another V1.08 for 0.6% average error of its high circularity performance. anyway, great video!
9:02 wasn't the very feature this controller has is to be able to swap the A/B and X/Y layout if you wish to switch from Nintendo to Xbox layout? It has removable buttons.
Fantastic controller. I like that I can use it on all my devices. Primarily, for me, PC/Switch/IOS. I found myself using this more than the Xbox Elite and Switch Pro controller
Just bought this controller for my Oled Switch to play xenoblade 3. Not only is it better then a Switch pro controller in feel and button feel but it also wakes up the switch and has Amiibo scanning!
Just realized I bought this controller back when I got my Steam Deck and I didn't really like it for that. They advertise it for the Switch so I tried it on it and absolutely loved it. It's a great controller regardless.
No paddles, too bad. Just have to keep beating up the series 2 elites until stick drift gets corrected in design. Glad to see the features being added into the design though.
This looks quite identical to Switch Pro gamepad. On PC you can use anything including even Stadia gamepad for any PC game including Xbox and Sony PC games. Only consoles requires expensive adapters and they don't even support all Gamepads.
FYI - This controller has NFC support on switch as too! It also remembers 1 wireless connection for each of the four modes, so you can switch between 4 different devices (android & ios share a mode/connection) without repairing! I absolutely LOVE this controller!! Thanks for bringing more attention to it!
This is now available in Target but under the name "Zen Pro Wireless" it looks to be the exact same controller with a different more retail friendly package and no carrying case.
If you own a Steam Deck, you can also get Gulikit Hall Effect Joysticks for the Deck, to replace the standard sticks. Just open it up and swap them out.
@@samgoff5289 The replacement sticks have a ribbon cable snap port all ready to go. No soldering that I can see. Should be just: detach connector cable and unscrew your existing stick, screw in your new stick and connect the ribbon cable, reassemble deck.

Getting this for my PC, as I tend to play single player games with a controller. Fed up with stick drift, build quality has decreased over the years on the standard controllers. 2 of my modern Xbox controllers got stick drift in about 6 months... My old Xbox controller has stick drift, but that thing lasted me 4 years or so before the stick drift incident. When I was on PS3 from back in the day I had zero issue with stick drift and if I whip out my ps3 controller today, that thing would still work after all these years.
I bought this when it came out. After 20 hours my Y button started sticking really bad, then my A button. I returned it for a new one and this one the A button is sticking. I think this controller is great except completely unusable if the face buttons keep sticking like this. It's a real shame this has such a major flaw.
It's funny that the thing this controller has that is unique aside from hall sensors is the poorly named "AI" function that people claim they will never use. This is precisely why I ordered this controller. As an avid RPG player and Trials Evolution player (all things Trials), I love the idea of preprogramming tricky bits and trying different adjustments to see how that impacts timed runs. Obviously, it is not in the spirit of honest gaming so of course, I would legitimately be trying to get runs on my own without programmed assistance, but this gives me the ability to test the physics of games like Trials by making minor adjustments. I have also recently gotten into Dark Souls / Elden Ring. These games are tuned poorly for low level characters and is doubly so for people like me that just dont have the reaction time we used to have. Setting up short XP grinds and running repeatedly for a few hours would help immensely for gaining enough xp to boost vitality enough to have a decent HP pool without me feeling like I just lost hours of my life. A simple bolder run in Elden Ring for example will be nice, just set it up to run from the save point to past where the bolder spawns, let it roll off the cliff, open the map, teleport to the last checkpoint, end macro, rinse and repeat. Let this run a few hours and voila, a decent health pool. Im not looking to break the game, Im just looking for the game to be a bit easier without spending hours to get the game at a difficulty I can manage. Yes, Im not a youn whipper snapper anymore, these games, I want to play and experience them without feeling like Im being punished for being old.
I love this controller. however the build quality is a bit of a gamble. I had to return 2 to amazon because the face buttons stuck on them (X on the first one, A on the 2nd). The third one has no issues tho, and its a really great controller
I just bought one! My 8bitDo doesn't turn on the Switch, but this one does! Plus it's just a beautiful controller. Looks like my XBox Elite 2. ME WANT! :)
It would absolutely be time to upgrade my controller if they put mappable buttons on the back like the 8bitdo Pro 2. This is otherwise a perfect controller, but I need them paddles
I've had a wired 360 controller i bought for pc for about 10 years and it's just now starting to get stick drift. If this controller has that sort of build quality and durability, i'd be interested.
I personally would like to see back paddles similar to the Xbox Elite Series 2 or the Steam Deck on the next version of this controller. If that were the case this would be my go to controller for literally everything.
Yup, I've got one too. Good stuff so far. Took a bit of fiddling to get it to pair with my Switch, and it sometimes claims the controller has low battery power when it doesn't, but otherwise, 👍
You may have a slightly malfunctioned controller, because I haven't gone through one issue since owning this controller. My KingKong 2 Pro was fully charged when I first bought it, and it immediately paired with my Switch OLED.
That is a common issue with controllers on Switch. Same thing started happening with my 8bitddo. I looked it up and Nintendo was basically like, "Yeah, that happens with some accessories, we're aware and won't be fixing it.." It started happening for me after a firmware update last year.
I have been using this controller for a few months now, its the best, I do have to recalibrate the motion before gameplay every time I turn it off. I hope they make a Gamecube button layout version.
I think I saw some other channel using this controller with an Xbox... And it makes sense since this controller has Xinput. Keep in mind that you can use Switch Mode on PC in order to use the gyro with max precision (mouse like) on emulators only, and not emulate "R-stick to gyro" (ZL hold + Setting button). R-stick to gyro option can't be as precise as Switch Mode. Use R-stick to gyro only on games that don't support gyro.
The analogs are great,.. thats where it ends. The shoulder buttons re not placed well at all. You're pointer finger naturally lands on the triggers and getting to the bumpers are extremely on comfortable. You're pointers should land on the bumpers as its easy to shift down to triggers.
I bought an 8bit-do bluetooth dongle for $20 and it works flawlessly with my xbox one controller. a way cheaper alternative if you already have a controller.
I've been _really_ interested in this, but I've never had drift issues with *any* of the copius amounts of controllers I've got. *_Is there a noticeable or advantageous difference in feel when it comes to the sticks?_*
I will totally get one of the when they come out with and Xbox series compatible one. So sick of stick drift gone through too many controllers. I do have Odin pro on the way, someday so will keep this in mind if I find myself wanting to play of it off the tv.
6:03 clicky garbage :( lol I love the D pad of x box controller, when not using a fight stick, I just cant grab any other D pad other than the x box controller to play fighting games.
Due to your video I just noticed that I bought the Nacon Revolution Unlimited Pro Controller last year in September, and it's still wrapped in the box 😮 For EmuELEC I use 8BitDo controllers, they're fine. I have one SF30 Pro and two different colored SN30 Pro+ For PC gaming I mainly use XBox controllers and also for emulation with LaunchBox and Bigbox.
Don't have a switch and the last video console I purchased was the PS4 Pro as I only play on PC now. Seems like just about the best PC controller I can find.
I wish they had one that imitated the DS4 design and have the touchpad on it control the Windows cursor. I would drop $100, maybe even more for one. It would be the perfect controller
The face buttons can be swapped by pressing gear and + directly on the controller, so a future iteration of it that would make it practically universal (besides adding xbox and ps compatibility) would be to have the buttons printed on the face plate and have them swappable, then BAM, no more extra controllers.
You can buy a button kit for this one already. Some are reporting newer batches coming with them in the box but I have yet to see this as anything more than an optional extra on Aliexpress. But the point is, it's an available accessory and the kit comes with a tool similar to a keycap puller for mechanical keyboards and you use it to grab and pull the buttons out instead of needing to disassemble the controller.
Love your reviews This controller is definitely on my wish list. Really like how the company is producing replacement components. Would be fun to have a reason to tear into my joycons to replace resistive sticks with fancy magnet magic ones.
Hey Russ. How would you rate this compared to the BIGBIG WON Elitist S which you reviewed a while back? Or are they really in different categories (they certainly have very different price points)? Congratulations on reaching 150K. All the best.
I like the review.. I've read a lot of users have issues with the face buttons sticking on this controller though and Gulikit seems to have quality control issues also according to users. I just got this controller and I really got to say When finding a Gyro Nintendo Switch pro with Analog Triggers I jumped for it right away!!. I am an (All Out Racing Gamer!).. Mx-Bikes really is a sensitive throttle game and Forza Horizon 4 and 5 racing game. Took me a while to find where the APG button is. I seen it's the vary bottom button that looks like Minimize and Maximize description. And I thought the Windows Mode was the first lit, light up mode light with the D under the description but I found out it's the second to last (3rd), The one next to last. When I seen under my windows 11, under Devices and Printers, it comes up as Xbox 360 Controller and Under it's properties ..When I seen the Slider Triger bars I was happy. I have not tried Mx-Bikes yet because that game really is a vary sensitive Throttle Trigger and Tires can spin a lot in Forza Horizon 4 and 5 game.
I agree this is a knock vs this controller. The controller surface has also not held up for me, granted my hands are generally oily. Still, given the choice I prefer a controller that plays well than looks well
Nope, button placement bothers me. Great Switch controller, but I play on PC and the first thing I'd do is take that apart to figure out swapping the ABXY to be appropriate.

?? Look I won’t say much but the King Kong 2 pro is a great controller, however. If you own a switch doesn’t the joycons already have amigo support?
It's funny to me that up until this generation I'd never heard of stick drift. I've been gaming non-stop since the nineties and never experienced it. And now I've got 3 controllers (PS5, Xbox Series and a GameSir for PC) that all suffer left stick drift--there's some madness happening in the production of controllers recently. I've been looking at this KingKong2 for a couple months but have been waiting for shipping to the UK. I just hope it's reliable in all the other ways, which for 3rd party controllers isn't at all usual.
So true. I don’t think I had ever experienced drift on a controller prior to the Xbox one.
Yes same, never experienced it have been gaming for 20 years
I only started encountering it with a Switch detachable controller.
Fortunately replacement sticks for 3rd parties are common, even if it's the same tech.
Preach 🙌🏻
I barely had any of it before the Xbox One/PS4 era, and it's only been worse with the Series and 5 stuff. Almost 100% certain they keep going for even cheaper, mass produced stuff, each successive generation of controller. Purposely built to not last since they love the additional money from people replacing
Was looking at it earlier today, thanks for reviewing it and making me decide!
I love the controller but there IS AN ISSUE WITH THE DPAD
You cannot hold left or right while pressing A+B multiple times because it DEREGISTERES THE DPAD INPUT FOR A MILLISECOND
this is an issue for 2d platformers or games like megaman or castlevania.
You will jump in place at random times instead of jumping left or right.
Weirdly though it doesn't happen when you hold up or down.
If any other KKpro2 users can test this out I'd be greatful. I've bought 3 controllers and all 3 were like this from different vendors even after the firmware update.
That sucks. Literally all I want is an Xbox controller with a good dpad that actually works for 2D platformers, but it literally doesn't seem to exist
I can't buy this now but I was a Kingkong Pro 1 early adopter and I'm super happy you finally got around to this 🤩
the thumb sticks and shoulder button shimmer fits your cyber wave theme.
Great controller and I love the using the packaging as a case that's boss level ideas there.
Absolutely one of the best things they could have done imho
We haven't seen Chicken in a minute. Hope they're doing alright. Thanks again for the video. I may have to consider this controller for the Switch for some stick-drift concern-free gaming.
7:25 playing a racing game with the dpad? Madman.
There is nothing wrong with the 360 d pad stop hating
For anyone seeing this in the future, I spent three days researching this controller's QC issues so you don't have to, and I hope the below helps :)
For me:
1st day of Gulikit KK2 pro: Y and A buttons feel sticking when pressing down...
2nd day of using my Gulikit KK2: A button screams when pressing down
I've returned it, it is a pity I love the ergonomics of this controller so much but its quality control is so bad.
More context:
I can read Chinese, since the controller was made by a Chinese company I was able to read the Chinese reviews from BiliBili (Chinese RUclips-ish).
A few users' KK2 Pro controllers had the silver paint fallen off from the shoulder triggers
- A lot of users who got a replacement KK2 Pro controller only to find other problems with the replacements.
They released a patch a month or two ago and the QC issues are ficed
Got a pair for a year already, best controllers in my collection.
According to Gulikit, they're working on a bluetooth connector/adapter to allow this version to work with Xbox and Playstation, separately :)
Oh, so it doesn't work natively with PS4/X1.
@@Darkony Sadly no, not yet :(
They need to do a ps5 version
Felicidades Russ por tus 150,000 suscriptores 🎉
Lot of amazon reviews mention poor quality control. The rubbery back doesn't look like something I'd like either. Thumbsticks are interesting though.
really the only issue I have seen applies to the face buttons
I love my kingkong 2 pro for its great hand feeling and versatility, I don't have any complain so far. Just note to update the controller to firmwares V3.6 or above and another V1.08 for 0.6% average error of its high circularity performance. anyway, great video!
Its a piece of sh*t. I had it for 10 minutes and already the buttons are sticking.
@@thackythac oh that's awful...mine just working well. did you contact them for replacement? I think there are one year warranty lol
Thank you! I got it and I feel like it is flawless!
9:02 wasn't the very feature this controller has is to be able to swap the A/B and X/Y layout if you wish to switch from Nintendo to Xbox layout? It has removable buttons.
It has removable buttons but they cannot be swapped, they are of different lengths of plastic.
I'm about as happy with this review as you are with the controller. Nice.👍
Great video.!
Great because I don’t own an Xbox nor a PS5. 😭 great video I’m a PC gamer and you had me sold at no stick drift.
Fantastic controller. I like that I can use it on all my devices. Primarily, for me, PC/Switch/IOS. I found myself using this more than the Xbox Elite and Switch Pro controller
Just bought this controller for my Oled Switch to play xenoblade 3. Not only is it better then a Switch pro controller in feel and button feel but it also wakes up the switch and has Amiibo scanning!
thank you Russ for making this video, help me so much
What is needed to add on the wishlist for me is the paddle buttons on the back and accessibility to the battery if it no longer charges.
Add that, Xbox/PS compatibility, and more customizable button feel (plus HD Rumble), and it's basically an endgame controller
They will release a King Kong 3, that got paddles. There are pictures from the gamescom
I like when companies swap the Switch buttons around. Put start and select where they have the screensshot and home.
I got the original model of the Gulikit King Kong Pro Controller and love it. Will buy this new version very soon
NFC switch support? Double sold!
Hall-sensor analog inputs? Now you’ve got my attention
They feel leagues better than other controllers, it's hard to describe.
i just bought one.......i think im going to buy another one because this controller is straight up amazing
I finally ordered one. Never had any controller drift, but I'm always on the lookout for a better option.
is it still no drift?
This is now available in Target but under the name "Zen Pro Wireless" it looks to be the exact same controller with a different more retail friendly package and no carrying case.
If you own a Steam Deck, you can also get Gulikit Hall Effect Joysticks for the Deck, to replace the standard sticks. Just open it up and swap them out.
You need to solder them..
@@samgoff5289 Maybe
@@samgoff5289 The replacement sticks have a ribbon cable snap port all ready to go. No soldering that I can see. Should be just: detach connector cable and unscrew your existing stick, screw in your new stick and connect the ribbon cable, reassemble deck.
@@bobmcbob4399 no...if you don't know why are you spewing about it...there is a wire for the capacitive touch sensor that has to be de solderd and re solderd to the new stick
@@samgoff5289 Forgot about that one, but you could've very easily said that in your orig reply though eh?
Getting this for my PC, as I tend to play single player games with a controller. Fed up with stick drift, build quality has decreased over the years on the standard controllers. 2 of my modern Xbox controllers got stick drift in about 6 months... My old Xbox controller has stick drift, but that thing lasted me 4 years or so before the stick drift incident. When I was on PS3 from back in the day I had zero issue with stick drift and if I whip out my ps3 controller today, that thing would still work after all these years.
Nice! I have this controller too
Nice review, man. Well done. Thanks.
got this badboy for $40, absolutely love it
I bought this when it came out. After 20 hours my Y button started sticking really bad, then my A button. I returned it for a new one and this one the A button is sticking. I think this controller is great except completely unusable if the face buttons keep sticking like this. It's a real shame this has such a major flaw.
Yeah if you're having that problem with multiple controllers then it's definitely a bigger problem
What you can do is buy their replacement mechanical switches, they're cheap
Thanks for this nice review, man.
That looks a right beast of a controller .
I've had a wired 360 controller i bought for pc for about 10 years and it's just now starting to get stick drift. If this controller has that sort of build quality and durability, i'd be interested.
Russ could make a video about dog poo and I'd happily watch it.
Adding it to the list!
Cheers Russ, looks rather good.
Thanks for the review. I just placed my order. Looks like a quality product. Do they guarantee the "no drift ever" with a warranty?
I personally would like to see back paddles similar to the Xbox Elite Series 2 or the Steam Deck on the next version of this controller. If that were the case this would be my go to controller for literally everything.
I agree I recently bought an Elite Series 2 and the paddles are gorgeous for replacing the clicking function for the sticks
My thoughts exactly, back buttons are a game changer for me, that's why I stick to my steam controller
If its not too difficult to crack open, you could hot glue some lead shot inside the case to up the weight
This controller is cool! I’m waiting too see what Xbox does with an elite v3 before I switch to a new controller
My 8bitdo has some drift after a few years, but that's the only issue it has. It's a Nintendo problem, but they won't be fixing it.
I have been using this controller for a few months now, its the best, I do have to recalibrate the motion before gameplay every time I turn it off. I hope they make a Gamecube button layout version.
Is the 'rubberized' skin on this controller the kind you find on other Chinese and Japanese kit, the kind that over time gets gross and sticky?
Yep, months on and this being my main controller ... It's quality.
I bought an 8bit-do bluetooth dongle for $20 and it works flawlessly with my xbox one controller. a way cheaper alternative if you already have a controller.
Is there any noticeable delay?
@@AlanTraceyswebsite none that I can notice!
I've been _really_ interested in this, but I've never had drift issues with *any* of the copius amounts of controllers I've got.
*_Is there a noticeable or advantageous difference in feel when it comes to the sticks?_*
its more percise i believe
I will totally get one of the when they come out with and Xbox series compatible one. So sick of stick drift gone through too many controllers. I do have Odin pro on the way, someday so will keep this in mind if I find myself wanting to play of it off the tv.
They just let me know that they are working on an adapter that will make it compatible with Xbox Series and PS4, so hopefully that will be out soon.
6:03 clicky garbage :( lol I love the D pad of x box controller, when not using a fight stick, I just cant grab any other D pad other than the x box controller to play fighting games.
It would be awesome if xbox, 8bitdo, & gulikit did collab together. Would love to have the pro 2 wired xbox series controller with gulikit analogs.
On PC you can use this, Xbox, Nintendo, Sony or any other controlls in any PC Game.
Only consoles is limited.
Due to your video I just noticed that I bought the Nacon Revolution Unlimited Pro Controller last year in September, and it's still wrapped in the box 😮
For EmuELEC I use 8BitDo controllers, they're fine. I have one SF30 Pro and two different colored SN30 Pro+
For PC gaming I mainly use XBox controllers and also for emulation with LaunchBox and Bigbox.
Don't have a switch and the last video console I purchased was the PS4 Pro as I only play on PC now. Seems like just about the best PC controller I can find.
I´ll pick one, thanks for showing it. I was looking for a backup Xbox controller, with analogue triggers.
You can get a USB dongle to use 2.4GHz wireless instead of Bluetooth. There is also a button swap kit to change to an Xbox layout, if you prefer.
this helped so much. thank youuu! 😊
Pass, rubberized plastic.
I have a XBone controller, but I feeling the I have to reach for the d-pad.
Love your reviews
This controller is definitely on my wish list.
This is more comfortable to hold for me over 8bitdo ultimate controller. Best controller for the switch hands down
I like the review.. I've read a lot of users have issues with the face buttons sticking on this controller though and Gulikit seems to have quality control issues also according to users. You like using controllers with cords, are you a 1980s caveman? Just joking, your videos are always well done, keep up the good work.
Next Version Wishlist, Hall Sensor for PS5 👍👍👍
It is possible to customize this controler with elite thumbsticks and Xbox one/series buttons?
Hello my friend been a long time since I commented have you updated your controller love to see a video on doing it
the bad thing about this controller is the fact of the painting on the sholder buttons goes away with the using
I agree this is a knock vs this controller.
Gulikit sells a kit that has the buttons in the Xbox orientation.
I wish we could just get the 8bitdo SN30 Pro with the ability to wake the switch up remotely. I much prefer the playstation parallel thumbstick design of that controller because it makes the D-Pad line up with the buttons for more comfortable retro gaming.
I've been eyeing this controller for months, do you think the triggers are good enough for racing esp sim racing and probably f1?
saw it for 45 gbp on aliexpress, i have enough controller but definitely would get one if i was in the market for one
seems like almost the perfect controller
If you plug it in to a Xbox series X/S can you use it as a wired controller
