I put my switch into a hard case whenever I travel with it. The most I bring aside from the switch itself is a charger. I also like to travel light, but I'm also not going to risk my console just to save a little space

Just traveled with my switch, I used the amazon case, worked great, didn’t worry about it being damaged. Also it’s so cheap, you can’t go wrong, parents I highly recommend it for your kids.

The pdp back pack is an absolute necessity in my opinion. It allows me to always have my switch,3ds, and laptop all in one With extra room.

I use the insignia charger without the dock regularly and it works well. I'm too afraid to test the dock until cloud saving comes.

I am the exact opposite.10 percent of the time I play on the dock( mainly to make my videos).90 percent of the time I play in handheld or table top mode

I like the armored case myself, and usually also travel with a pro controller or a wireless gc controller for smash. Though if I'm flying and room becomes an issue, the switch stays behind and I just bring my steam deck..

When you use an USB type-c to regular USB cable you need to make sure it has this 56 k ohm resistance build in. If not you can kill your Switch! I use a type-c to type-c cable which does not have this problem. Don't use a cable you're not sure about!!!

Those cases were damn good looking especially the waterfield and the amazon basics. But I find your preffered cases disturbing, for me at least. Those cases seems to destroy your analog sticks easily when squeezed especially after seeing how you stuff things in your bag and how many you possibly carry. I destroyed my dual shock 2 controller before, a time when i did something like that going to school
The hard shell Amazon Basics case is great, extremely good build quality. I'm very paranoid about it breaking and this case is perfect. locks shut and protects buttons.
Can you use the Nintendo licensed charging cable that comes with a Pro controller with a normal portable battery to charge the switch??? Thanks!

I usually bring my 10,000mAh Portable charger, a softish shell case with all my physical games (And some microfibre cloths and a USB C cable) My pro controller (If I feel like I need it) and sometimes my dock... (Might wanna buy a minidock though.....)

That armored case is pretty great. I was a bit worried of other cases since I heard my friends said their joycons were a bit funky with cases that don't isolate the sticks sooo, got that thing and it was like $4 at the time. Was, worth it. Really nice durable case.

Don't update your system while plugged into the fastsnail dock, 5.0 update specifically bricked my system while it was plugged into a 3rd party dock

It would take a real strong magnet to even affect the switch. People say not to bring any magnets near electronics, but small ones won't do any harm.
Unless your switch is using 3.5" floppies, it's going to be ok. Flash cards don't care about magnets.
A cheap flat magnet would destroy an old floppy, while a rare earth doesn't seem to bother my SD card a bit.

When I take my pro controller with me I just put the batteries in backwards so it doesn't drain their power and I am careful when I move it. And that's free y'all.💵🤙
That's really fucking stupid. Like, really, really fucking stupid.
Not trying to hate at all but just putting it out there that using the official charger may not be a 100% solution. His theory may be correct, but most likely it has more to do with the capacitors and resistors in the board used on third party docks. I haven't done much research into this but it seems the boards are the main issue and how nintendo configured their voltage and current settings. Converting your dock and using the official charger is your best bet, good luck!

Those cheap $30 Chinese aluminum box mini docks are ironically perfectly safe to use as long as you use the official Nintendo switch charger. The makers of the dock themselves even warn against using third party chargers. The thing is that those docks are ultra low power, so they never interfere with the switch's power needs, making them safe.

For that aftermarket dock, i have used that same one he has for 3 years. It has no name, it has no weight, but it has worked for 3 years. Just note that i have always used the switch charger as well. I just upgraded to that Genki one, but really just because that one is more portable (dont need to switch charger since that one works and I am not worried about bricking the switch).

I take my switch with me weekly to meet up with some of my youth. I have the deluxe Nintendo hard case, but it’s like playing Tetris trying to carefully fit two extra joy cons, plus the four straps. Any recommendations? I didn’t see anything in the video about extra jc, just the pro controller.
I did pick up the ginormous switch case for when I road trip to visit family, but it’s not something I’d want to lug around on a weekly basis, especially since I have to carry my son’s gear too (he’s only 7mths).

Yo Bob, I’m looking for a very specific type of case…hard shell AND one that I can monogram my name and phone number (I just lost my Switch at LAX😢) and I’m having difficult finding one…if it even exists. The Amazon Basics hard shell case is not available for the OLED model, so that’s out. I’ve tried looking all throughout Amazon, Walmart & Etsy. Do you, or does anyone here, have recommendations??
The switches portability is great! When I travel I have a mario pdp case aswell as a gamestop's biogenic erganomic grip to make the playing for long periods more comfortable. That's it besides the charger.

Went to Boston and walked the Freedom Trail twice. I had my PokeBall+ in my bag the whole time. When I got back home to CA, I retrieved my Eevee only to find out she had 99999 steps. Gave me loads of exp and candies. Haha!
Anywho, I took my switch, my laptop, power bank, PokeBall+, and all my necessary chargers. I don’t like the big Xbox controller and seeing the pro controller’s similarities, I’m not sold, so I don’t need to bring pro controllers.
I did buy an SN30 Pro, though, thanks to watching your reviews. I’ve yet to find out if it’s worth bringing on travels, what with the whole pandemic. An unfortunate discovery was that the Ultimate Software only works with the plus model, but I don’t want the handles, so I’m s[click] out of luck. I can only hope for an update. Man, did I derail my answer. x’D

STOP RECOMMENDING THE FAST SNAIL ADAPTER TO PEOPLE!!! I used mine with no problems for a while, but it did eventually brick my Switch, while using the official power adapter.
Whenever I buy new tech Im always looking for the best additions to make the use of the product even better. Saw the pro controller wanted one. Now very much thanks to you I say, f*ck that controller. 8Bitdo loooooks awwweeeesome! I've spent most of my growing up playing a super Nintendo and the fact that thing has more or less all the features of a pro in the size and look of a snes controller. AND ITS CHEAPER! common COMMOON! Why wouldnt you. Would bring me great joy seeing all my friends playing a system with those colors in the hands 20 years latter on a new system with new joy sticks and rumble.
