One of the joys of working with bonsai trees is that the hobby truly is an art form. Anyone who has worked extensively with bonsai knows that the cultivation, shaping, and care of these special plants take an extreme amount of patience, knowledge, and an eye for artfulness.
In this video beginners can learn the techniques of reducing leaf sizes and why & how to prune a bonsai.
When you combine these techniques with correct bonsai planting strategies and choosing the best specimen, you will soon be able to create the perfect bonsai with the best miniature leaf size that all bonsai lovers know and love. Techniques to create smaller leaves may not hold true for all tree species so be sure to get to know the particular tree variety you want to grow before you start turning it into a bonsai tree.

welcome akela. you should try the natural trees in your local. which has smaller leaves with hard wood . Ficus is always best to start with.

Nice video!! Basics are made clear very easily. I have a question about the pruning leaves that are directly joined to the branch. Example Murayya Exitica/ Kamini. In that case, if I want to reduce the size of leaves, should I prune leaves by plucking them from the bottom where it is attached to the branch or should I cut part of the branch with those 3-4 leaves?
If I cut the leaves from the bottom without touching the branch, after pruning it looks like a small rod.
yes Tejas, better way is to cut the main leaf stem. plucking can damage the node. stem will fall after few days naturally.
Ficus virens is the easiest Ficus to work with.
For me it grows most of the year and produces new growth approx 2 weeks after pruning.
The more I prune the more branching i get, and i can create the desired shape without wiring.
Sir please make a complete video tutorial for beginners. Like..1 how to bonsai plant.
2. How to plant it.
3. How to care it.
4. Which branch to prune.
5.Front back protocol for bonsai.
6. Which branch is necessary which is not.
7. Different styles of bonsai with digram.
8. Show us all important for bonsai.
9. Mainly branch choosing I'm always worried about it.
I'll keep it in my mind.

Mene uska root prune kr ke radial pattern me bonsai pot me lagaya hai Lekin uske leaves bahut bade size ke hai to kya me uska defoliation Abhi karu yaa kuch mahine Baad taki uske roots adjust ho jaye. Or ek or sawal ke lemon or ficus Ko prune and defoliation konse mahine me Kiya jaye?.
