This guy made me fall in love with my Shadow Ace😊 !
Thank you! I appreciate that! Means a a lot
Same! I love my little 750 ACE!
Same here
You mentioned recycling, and I am all for recycling, this is why I reuse dinosaurs in my motorcycle.😁
hahah
I bought a shadow a few months ago and fell in love with riding recently thanks to tj I equally fell in love with working on my bike even when things don’t go right I remind myself it’s all a learning experience and am excited to see where this bike goes after a year of constant tinkering
That is awesome!🍻
I emailed you asking for instructions, you email me back with the instructions I bought your tank followed your instructions. Looks awesome and got rid of that ugly f--king tank. Awesome video. Thank you.
Glad we could help ya out!!!
I did the same thing on my 02 Sabre but I used a stainless steel water bottle and painted to match my bike. 🤘🏻
Nice!!
you are amazing,im never getting rid of my honda steed.in fact u are the reason im gonna bob my bike,.all the way from cape town south africa.your videos rock
🍻
Boss of builds. Hands down
Love that hes still fuckin with them shadows
Loooooooooong time haha
just installed mine thanks man!
Awesome video. Could you do a video on cleaning up the radiator cap area next? To get rid of everything in that area?
well i would but you cant get rid of everything in that area LOL! its pretty necessary.
Hi TJ currently building my steed. Before I purchased my bike the previous owner had removed the reserve tank. I’m running a dual carb. Where would the fuel lines from the gas tank run to the carbs? Cheers for the videos all the way from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Id suggest watching this series to familiarize yourself with the dual carbs - ruclips.net/video/gYLGWX_y_v8/видео.html
Should we put any coolant in the reservoir prior to finishing?
You can fill it about a third of the way.
Great video, I already bought this and installed, but on the right side of the bike. Does it matter which wide it is mounted to? Is it best on the left side?
sometimes it hangs to the right, sometimes to the left, 😂its a personal preference, so long as its below the thermostat youre good
and thats why youre awesome!@@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS
Awesome vid man! Couple of questions. Any pro/cons to using teflon tape on the cap and nipple threads? Would the install be any different on the VT750C2B? What about reusing or replacing the hose clamp(s) on the hoses attached to the UCOR nipples? Ok thats three questions. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the comment! No need for T-Tape. the tank isnt pressurized. theres an actual HOLE in the cap sooooo teflon tape for the threads is a waste of resources. install is virtually the same on other bikes. not sure what you mean by reusing or replacing the clamps? you dont need hose clamps on them because, again, the tank isnt pressurized.
@@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS Thanks for the reply! I was asking about spring clamps on the hoses as they were there before. Thanks again!
@@johnjwade you don't need any kind of clamp on the hoses going to the ucor, i dont like re-using old hardware so if i use a hose clamp, its new, and stainless.
Besides the looks, is there any other reason to replace the stock tank?
Thanks for the video by the way.
One bonus is once the stock overflow tank is removed, gives you a nice low spot to move your battery to.
Great question! Yes, the stock tanks can crack, and hold sediment that gets sucked into your system, theres a ton of hose going back there and removing the stock tank drastically simplifies the system which means less propensity for failure!
@@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS I hear ya, my biggest interest in do that exchange is for something much simpler than your explanation here. Man I do hate the fact that my Shadow 600 bottom chassis is uneven and that stock plastic tank is actually below the chassis and on the way to lift my bike with my flat jack.
I bought one of these off you in the Uk, hopeing to use it soon, I’m just curious after install how much coolant would we put in the bike ? Or should I just go off the factory manual? Thanks Ryan.
In a 600 its 1.7 qts of coolant and i put about 2 inches worth in the coolant overflow.
@@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS thanks for help ive gone to install the tank today and ive miss placed the clamps and barb fittings, can you tell me what size clamps and barb fittings i need please tried to email support but not sure if its gone threw
Hey can anybody redirect me to the best video for a visual on what to plug and what not to i just bought the velocity stacks for my dual carb 92 shadow vlx 600
There's several videos on this channel that cover that! Start with the 4 part easiest carb rebuild series!
