Loving this series and many prior videos! I enjoy wrenching on and customizing many types of bikes, and I’ve picked up on and implemented more than a few things you’ve covered over the years. Cheers!
I owned and rode the VT 800 just 4 years ago. It was a great bike around town, lots of power. Only complaint was the four speed transmission just wasn't enough for highway riding. I really enjoyed educating the "bike guys" that always tried to correct me when I said shadow 800. The only fix it ever needed was a new front break line and fork seals.
I had a 800 for quiet a few years. Engine was great and as I'm a short in the leg found it quiet comfortable. Draw backs definitely spare cycle parts and the buttons on the seats not good in the rain.
The Honda Pacific Coast knocked it out of the park, if that style was your thing. To those that loved it: WOW!!! Buuuuttt, not enough loved it. I admired and appreciated it, but... not my style. By the by, really enjoying this series! Keep on!!!
My First bike as a teen was a 88 VT800 shadow. Wish I had never sold it. Currently own a 86’ VT750 Shadow. As far as parts the VT800 shares its chassis and components/styling with the 86 and 87 750’s. Very little changed between those years and most parts are interchangeable. Bottom end is mostly interchangeable with the VT750/700 from 83 to 85 and as mentioned the engine is interchangeable with the PC800 Pacific coast. The styling is very unique 80’s and don’t make good choppers or bobbers in my opinion because it’s hard to get the “right” look. However they either look very cool or ugly as is.
Funny you kept going back to spoked wheels on the 800 then you actually show an 800 with mag wheels at 8:35! Sister of a buddy of mine in college had one with mags, so no surprise here. She was really short and the bike seemed to suit her.
My mother had 1 of these. It was a rough ride because it vibrated so bad like a Hardly. Plus the CB radio combo speaker she mounted on the handle bars sat just above the tank.
Hi TJ, I like Honda Shadows and have owned several….5 VLXs and an Ace 750. And I like your channel although I’m not a real biker and I don’t go to bike nights . Because 1) I don’t drink copious amounts of beer 2) I don’t have any tatoos. 3) I want to keep my teeth. Also I love the PCH scooter. I wish I could find one. Seems to be all but forgotten and probably quite rare, at least here in southern Arizona. Anyway thanks for the great content and best wishes.
I had to take a break from doing fun shit to see what the worst Honda was! TJ needs to start a ‘buyer’s guide’ cnannel! His evaluations should also be available in the NADA used bike valuation manual!
Loving this series. So you mean you can't throw on a C.V carb from a 600 on that 800 and it works? I'm thinking, like you got the 800, why not just chop it up and make parts for it?
Why are there so few videos of VT1100 shadows, I mostly see videos of 600 and 750 but most of the bikes I see on the road are 1100's Myself having one also.
It was NOT a "scooter". I owned a PC800, and it was a wonderful motorcycle, although on the freeway the bodywork made it a bit difficult to handle in high winds.
You should make the best Honda motorcycle and also the worst Honda motorcycle. Maybe the rebel. I love the fact that it was about a motorcycle history. I like Honda but prefer a Royal Enfield. But hey everyone has there choice and as long it fits you it is about you.
These videos are great. Thanks TJ!
Thank you! 🍻

@Binding_D00m the same engine was used in1989 in the PC800.
Nice series, keep up the good work.👍

I think it would be cool to have the shadow 800

Is there a 'best Honda's made every...?
Not yet!
@@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS That'd be cool to see. Been following this short series to see if my 88' 600 was on the worst list. Glad to see it isn't
Yeah it was like ‘83 to 04 shadows man!
Mid 80s honda magna

😆
The VT800 it's quite similar to the Vulcan 750, same engine looking with an exshaust on each side, one carburetor for each cylinder...
mmmmm donuts
There is one for sale here where I live for less than $1,000. Bike is in really good shape, and it runs!
buy it for me, yeah?
How about a comparison video(s) Harley vs Honda. Pros and cons of each. Maintenance, customization, riding, performance, etc.
OOOO We just might
I've owned an '04 vtx 1300 for years, and it's been a great reliable bike for me.
Hell yeah

I managed to get this as my first bike somehow. Since i work on it I learned the hard way all these facts lol.
FACTS!
I'd rather pick a bad Honda over a woke Harley-Davidson.
Hahaha!

If I’m not mistaken the carbs on the 86-87 750 will work on the 800.

Thats because of life. My friend.

OK sorry, its a wheelchair
I have a 1983 vt750c... i liked it so much i bought a second one. Great bikes! I've smoked every Harley I've rode with with that bike.
🙌
Well I got myself my first bike. '06 VT600 VLX Deluxe with 5500 miles, windshield, and crash bars for 2000 bucks.

I've had a vt700 and a vlx. The VLX was just better, and I'm 6'4.
