ISUPK KENTUCKY those are rules made up by Hollywood to romanticize and glorify the mob but in real life there were none, sure they had some guidelines and agreements to keep things civil to a degree, but anyone and anything was fair game. Families, relatives and friends were always getting killed because they were close or related to someone who was involved in this kind of business.
ISUPK KENTUCKY Jimmy set his family up to be touched when he started conducting meetings out of his home. It's why Remus commented on it, when they meet. Not only is it unprofessional, but it's flat out dangerous in that line of work. All it takes is one snitch (Mickey) to give up information, and he had good reason, when Jimmy got too bigheaded by throwing Doyle off the ledge infront of Manny. Even though, Capone or Luciano were probably gonna whack him eventually. Jimmy didn't have the makings of a Boss. He knew how to enforce, but was sloppy at running an operation. Soured what could've been a good alliance with Philly, over a 5K advance. Had Jimmy honored his word, Manny would've been out of town muscle like Frankie Yale to Capone.

My associate, Mr. Harrow. What happened to you? I put my nose where it didn't belong. You're funny. He's a sweetheart, and Mickey is a gonif from way back. No, but thank you. You're gonna smell the cooking and you're gonna get hungry. Avram, fry this up with some onions. So what's your pleasure, Mr. Horvitz? Munya, or Manny. My pleasure? I got a daughter. She's an angel. And my wife? Ankles got thick, but I love her anyway. And Waxey Gordon is a cocksucking piece of shit. - Why is that? - He's a greedy prick, with his hand in my ass pocket where my wallet should be. Fuckin' khazer. Eight years I work with the man. Promises made and now where am I? Talking to a baby in a butcher shop. I like you, boychik. Nice warm feeling. We hear you're flush with hooch. - You heard right. - How'd you like to make some dough? ISUPK KENTUCKY those are rules made up by Hollywood to romanticize and glorify the mob but in real life there were none, sure they had some guidelines and agreements to keep things civil to a degree, but anyone and anything was fair game. Families, relatives and friends were always getting killed because they were close or related to someone who was involved in this kind of business.
Joe's cannoli meh never really heard of direct family being killed
ISUPK KENTUCKY
Jimmy set his family up to be touched when he started conducting meetings out of his home.
@La Onda It is? Nice! I mean horrible if you die but nice to know...
From now on, whenever I see a disabled person I just turn to their carer, point at them and say "This man looks interesting"
Sure you do cupcake, sure you do.
LMAO after I seen this episode I started calling pretty much every guy I know (friends/co-workers) "boychiek" LOL
Haha my parents do the same thing
I’ve always been in love with this time period. And this show scratches that itch so gooood ❤
The writers of this show were too good honestly. None of the dialogue ever seems forced, it just flows so naturally. The casting was superb.
Herman and a lot of those other gangsters back then had such cool voices.
mr harrow sure will be in touch lol
Michael Maldonado trust me to slap that corn liveO
Jimmy was the POS, you always honor your deal.
actor did a great job! Manny is friendly yet intimidating
Dialogue in this show is terrific. Talented writing.
IMO, Boardwalk Empire was the best all around show ever. "The wire " is a close 2nd but, BWE has an unbelievable amount of set design, wardrobe, and period auto mobiles that was an Herculean effort to get just right.
If you like a “no PC” type of show the sopranos is worth watching too
Manny Horvitz tone and voice are amazing.
Freaking love William Forsythe!
I can't believe they left the liver and onions! That looked delicious!!!!!
Ed Blumquist , Manny Horvitz - the friendly butchers who are low-key dangerous
Great reference
They even have the same hairstyle.
@@TheFiresloth I didn’t see it at first but Yh that’s true
"I just got creamsicles in mine." Probably a lie: Jimmy is so cool ice cream wouldn't melt in his mouth.
it was such a nice scene, I'm really glad everything worked out for everyone in the end.
Now they have that cooked liver and onions and no one to eat it.
Avram was a great character, wish we saw more of him
3:02: “Mr Harrow will be in touch”
Yes... yes he certainly will
I just realized that Manny calls Mickey Doyle a goniff which means a thief, dishonest person or scoundrel.
The wire, sopranos and this show had such great acting. Superb series
Supremely well acted, awesome dialogue, just immense!!!
I love the beginning where Jimmy says.. You talked to him about the cash up front.
Manny the Jew
knew just what to do
when the hit-men came a calling
he stuck a knife in his head, left him for dead
and went to the beach in the morning
he killed the wife of the man who tried to take his life
and shot her lover fair
he didn't intend to kill her dear friend
but her husband was no longer there.
MAnnaconduit1 then Harrow like a sparrow struck a bullet to manny's marrow.
While his wife screamed and hallowed.
Mannys face forever hollow.
Whoa onto the man that crosses the tin man harrow
its no bad, but thats no rap its poetry.
@Trinder3467 its not rap it a limerick
@Trinder3467 Do not compare poetry to rap. Maybe open a book too.
Some people are better at being number twos… - Silvio Dante
William Forsythe was badass as Capone back in the old TV series "The Untouchables"
So many awesome characters in this show!
Manny gives me chills!
i just love how Manny is jovial and laughing the whole way through until he threatens Jimmy. after that he is stone faced and serious.
Never understood Jimmy blowing it all up with Manny. Ended up costing him everything.
Assuming that's liver. That's a big fucking liver.
Is liver and onions any good? Love onions. I also love all the food people get iffy about. Oysters, scrapple, etc...after 29 years never tried liver tho...
Liver and onions are delicious! Definitely a good try.
Stewed liver with lotsa onions. Its pretty delicious.
HUGE FAN, Great Video.. Thank you
I loved Manny's character. He was legit af.
Manny is like if a giant bear became a man
Avram is the only man here who doesnt get violently murdered in the end
What u mean?? The only one is maybe the cook
@@viciazzo avram is the cook
@@caseylayton4898 😁😵
Horvitz voice was all nice when asking Harrow, "what happened to you?".
Such an amazing actor. He should've been more popular
Munya! We made it.
Manny Horvitz, this is the fella I called you about.
Jimmy Darmody.
Mr.
Horvitz.
You're Darmody? He's just a baby.
I thought you liked em' young, Manny.
If we're talking veal, yes.
But when it comes to business It's nice to meet you.
- You speak Yiddish? - That's all I know.
Still, you make an effort.
I'm impressed.
Already I feel this is going well.
This man looks interesting.
My associate, Mr.
Harrow.
What happened to you? I put my nose where it didn't belong.
You're funny.
He's a sweetheart, and Mickey is a gonif from way back.
Introduce yourself.
- Herman Kaufman.
- All right, Herman.
First in his class at Eastern State Penitentiary.
I'm kidding.
Herman only did county time.
Can I get you fellas something to eat?
We didn't come to Philly for the brisket.
You got liquor.
We got money.
You see where I'm driving? I need cash up front.
First consider I got restaurants, about 10 blocks or so in Jew town Weikel off Somerset.
It's a nice opportunity.
We do 100 cases a week, build our business from there.
And stick it right up Waxey's tuchus.
Still has to be in advance.
Five grand, we can make delivery anytime.
That's a lot of green.
You could always say no.
We got a deal.
But just so we're clear, my icebox is filled with pieces of fellas who tried to fuck me over.
I just got creamsicles in mine.
Mr.
Harrow will be in touch.
Gentlemen.

I genuinely liked Manny as a character, I was pissed they killed him off and let characters like Gyp Rosetti exist longer.
Manny wouldn't have been dead if he didn't kill Jimmy's wife, that was a dark twist from him ngl
Don’t know what it is about this scene, but it’s just so satisfying
First in his class at Eastern State.... Penitentiary LOL
this show had so many great characters
How did Jimmy fuck this up so much...
sparkydeltorro Indeed.
Jimmy was an exceptional thug, but the finer points of being a 'boss' such as Nucky - Jimmy was more or less way in over his head.
sparkydeltorro Jimmy was more or less pushed to make his bid for control of AC, he should've never tried to grasp for the reins.
Because he really was a child. Rothstein saw it; Manny saw it; Nucky saw it.
He was a good soldier, boss not so much.
He should have stayed on good term with Nucky or stayed in Chicago with Torreo and Capone.
I didn't notice harrow laughing the first time I saw this, probably the only laugh and maybe only smile of his character
I never understood why Jimmy ripped Manny off. It's not like he coundn't afford it or it would even effect his money.
Stupid plot device to kill of Pitts character having Nucky choose Manny over Jimmy.
He didn't screw Manny over in the beginning, his warehouse blew up.
The point was to show that Jimmy was not an effective leader, he was a soldier, but only knew how to act like a soldier not a boss like Nucky or Rothstein.
Because he was a moron
William is a very good actor. Liked him since I first seen him in DEAD BANG
