Great advice, Dave! I too have had an experience with a big Bull on the Texas Gulf while wade fishing the Cedar Bayou in the late 70's. We were using 20' plastic coated steel cable with commode floats. Twenty feet was Waaaay too close. That big Bull knocked me off my feet in waist-deep water. No bites, as it just was aggressively passing by with me in its way. Beachcombing, surf fishing a little heckling by my Dad finished my day. :)
Got buzzed by a 7 or 8 foot bull two days ago in butt deep water. We seen two dolphins maybe half an hour earlier and felt ok, not so lol. Water was real cloudy due to the full moon high tide. Won't be doing that again.
Just a suggestion: You guys have a had a lot of really washed out videos lately - the contrast and brightness settings are your friends. Keep up the good work though, love what you do.
This is advise that needs to be said more often. I'm honestly surprised that shark encounters aren't reported more often with guys wade fishing. I just won't do it anymore. Buy a kayak!
R H there’s not more reports because sharks don’t attack people. If they were looking for people a beach would be a more lucrative hunting ground for sharks. Shark attacks are an extremely rare occurrence.
@@ceciltrimble3213 I agree it's rare. But his point was, since I have to explain it, considerably more likely with live fish tied to your waist! As opposed to swimming on a beach that you mentioned. And if it does happen....it's likely to bad.
Steve Quate the stingray shuffle is about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Have fun shuffling your feet over a broken bottle or any number of sharp things people toss into the bay. If you wade long enough your going to get stuck. Good wading shoes and polarized glasses to spot rays are your best friend.

Stringer length should be 30 to 40 feet - not yards - sorry! Wader Dave
I was like omg dude haha that’s so long
Thanks Dave. I have witnessed you getting spooked by a big shark

Fist off I video I don’t see any shuffling no sting ray protection not the question of when(it will happen), but how bad
