Die hard NMU hockey fan. I always catch a game whenever I can whether it’s in Marquette or on the road

I was there when Atte made the goalie goal!! Still remember how loud it got after that empty net goal!!! I was in college from 2010 to 2014 and still try to come back up for the NMU Tech games.

Hey glad to hear the personal stories. I grew up in Gladstone Escanaba area and have been to Lakeview a few times in the 90s once for a hockey game with my step grandpa and a few times (forced lol) for Fire UP. The only time at Berry was a Ludacris concert in 03 ish. I was in band and football so I remember playing once at the dome and also going yearly to band day at a cats game with a bunch of other high schools around the UP.
I enjoy stadium videos and glad I found your channel. Thanks for the nostalgia.

Thanks so much! This is what I love the most about making these videos - making these connections with people and sharing fun experiences. I live in Wisconsin now and really miss being up in the UP. So many great times! Thanks for sharing your stories. Go ‘Cats!

Interesting that you went to Northern Michigan. I know you’ve mentioned connections to Cincinnati in the past. I grew up in central Michigan until I was 19, and have lived in central Florida since. I can vividly remember my high school football team going to the regional finals around 1993 or 1994, just one win away from going to the state finals for our school’s class size, and that game being at the Superior Dome up there. Our school organized a bus for students to go up and root for our team, and I went along. It was pretty neat. Only if the only times in my life today this day that I’ve been in the western half of the U.P. Not sure if I could handle it up there permanently though. Central Michigan was remote and cold enough for me, but the U.P. is a whole other animal as that goes. I admire that you got through that up there.

I grew up in the Cincinnati area and then went off to NMU for school. I loved the cold and snow, knew the band director, and it was a great fit for me personally. I didn’t want to stay in SW Ohio and needed to get away. I was super glad I made that choice. After graduating I got a job outside Milwaukee which is where I live now.

Shhhh! We don’t talk about the 2-0 result for Tech. Hahaha! The atmosphere was electric that night though from both the home support and the travelling Tech fans. Has to go down as one of the coolest experiences. I even got an official WCHA lanyard badge with my name on it signifying I was part of the pep band.

I’d say a solid 6.5 out of 10. It’s been a while but I’d down quite a few of them at games.
