I got almost the same bag (mines a long, 15 degree model) and love it! It was pricey but the best money I've spent on my sleeping accommodations. I learned to just spend the money on good gear, you'll be much happier in the long run.
Great real world review. Thanks dude. Only thing I would add is the details of your sleeping mat, as this bag might be too cool on say a different mat. Cheers.
G'Day , great review and informative...I have just started using Nemo Products down here , they are not a common brand...I have their air mattress which is great so keen to check out their other products...once again cheers
Thanks so much for the review! So helpful! One question for you on the compression sack you use... you mentioned the Sea to Summit dry bag... Could you let me know what size you typically use for your dry backs for the sleeping bag and other essentials? Also, do you have any comment on the quality of the Sea to Summit compared to other brands like Z-Packs and others the like? Keep up the great reviews!
I have. It’s my 4 season bag. In the summer you can unzip the “gills” and/or the zipper on the side deon the bottom. I’ve never gotten too hot and I sleep on an insulated hiking Matress. By far one of the best purchases I’ve made for moto camping
Great info on the sleeping bag. I’ve got a North Face synthetic bag that’s rated to lower temps than yours and it sucks. I get cold in it when temps get to 35 so normally I just take my 3 season down bag as it compresses way smaller. I’ll have to look into the air mattress you use as well as that Nemo bag. I use a Thermarest on top of a Thermarest Cot all under a Black Diamond Megamid (this is a light and large footprint, will accommodate up to 4 people if needed and only weighs about 2 lbs). Unfortunately I’m watching this at about 0730 in the morning so will have to wait another half hour if I want to have a beer with you 😆🍺. Great review as always.
I was looking at this exact same model to go moto camping and after seeing the video I ordered myself one!! Which compression bag size are you using? I was thinking on going with the size M (14L)
So up until this bag I really liked using this one from sea to summit.amzn.to/2Yui7Ta So far I havent found the need for it with this bag, but for really warm nights its nice to have as a stand alone "sheet"
Thanks for the review. Where on your bike do you store it? It looks like you have soft panniers. I also have soft panniers and the compressed size listed on their website will not fit in my paniers.
You said Medium, but unable to determine the medium size compression bag. I purchased the forte for women today in long and the included compression sack is next to impossible to fit the bag into due to the loftiness of the bag. I am looking for a compression sack this will fit in... is the one you got a 14L bag or the 10L?
Should’ve looked in your links below - Klymit Static V-Luxe. Looks great, but it’s pricy once it’s crossed the Atlantic - $s = £s plus a bit more on top. I’ll have to save up! 😉 In the meantime I’ll keep myself comfortable on my camp bed.
In the Video I was using the Klymat Static V Lux. I mention it in the video at 34:18 if you wand more info. Its great, but I just picked up a Big Agnes Q Core Deluxe that is 30x78 and its awesome! about 4 inches thick and still packs pretty small
Absolutely. I’ve been moto camping for years in the backcountry and many times alone and not once ever have I had a bear come into my camp. Not that it’s not a possibility that it won’t happen, but I’m always prepared for it if it were to.
Hey there - I had the Kelty cosmic 20 and returned it for this bag. I found the Kelty cosmic 20 to be far too constricting, acknowledging that it is a traditional mummy bag and that is by design for heat retention. However the "spoon" shape of the Nemo bag is essential (imo) if you're a side sleeper or toss and turn. I miss the compressibility of the Kelty cosmic 20 but I found the Nemo Forte to give me a better nights sleep and will be keeping it. However, I would highly recommend the Kelty Galactic 30 down rectangular bag. When the temp does not dip below freezing, that is my go to bag.
wjluke hey great suggestion at the end with the Kelly 30. Being newly introduced to the nature lifestyle I tend to see things along the way on videos and think that I need them. I was only looking at mummy bags because that’s all I saw on backpacker videos. I live in California where it doesn’t get too cold so a rectangular bag might be a great option. I had them as a kid and thought they were the choice of the inexperienced. To be honest I took my Nemo forte and ended up getting out of it completely and sleeping on top of it.
For camping they are just some north face leg sip off pants. For moto camping they work great because you get pants and shorts in one piece of clothing. As far as riding pants go, they are the Klim Carlsbad pants. Not the brand new version but the last version
Great review. Good timing as I'm in the market. One thing though, IPA isn't beer, its a silly english invention to provide sailors high alcohol drink on the long passage to India. Hence the name Indian Pale Ale (IPA). I recommend you stick to Pilsners, Stouts, Ales and Lagers and the leave the funny english drink to the to english.
Thanks for the info. I really do like just about all beers, but IPAs are just what I like more right now. Doing these videos has been great because it’s really making me try ones and look for those Ive haven’t had so if anything else it’s opening me up to new beers 👍🏻
@@backcountryadvmoto I use it every night car amping ,it sucks every night I'm cold in it I have to double up with my actual 40 degree bag,u used it once I use it all the time.this is in California, I'd never use it in Colorado
@@dalegamburg8995 man that’s crazy. I live in north Idaho and have used this for over a year. Even used it camping if a snow bike in McCall in the snow and it kept me totally comfortable. Maybe the combination of this bag and my big Agnes Q-core air Matress makes a difference. Sorry if you feel misled. I am 100% honest in all of my reviews. But obviously my honesty is still my person opinion.
@@backcountryadvmoto you are entitled to and share your, opinion. Nemo + craft beer -- I like your style man!
I ordered one of the Nemo forte 20°sleeping bag for my Bicycle Touring Trips
I was using the Big Agnes lost dog 15 degrees sleeping bag
Sound is fine, river is perfect too. 👍🏻 Nice bag

Totally agree! Thanks for watching
Best sleeping bag ever! i’m currently deployed and I love this thing!
Nice one. Btw nothing wrong with the sound at all. Sounds Great!
Glad to hear it!

What size is your compression bag by Sea To Summit? Asking because I have the same sleeping bag.
Do you know the difference between the Nemo Tempo and the Forte? A bit confused on that. Debating between the two. I’m assuming size?
Little late but i am in the same boat. looks like the biggest thing is weight and features. Forte is lighter and has the "Gills" for ventilation
You ride a bike but your tent is so small. Can I ask why when you ride a large adv bike weight is no problem?

Nemo spec says the included stuff sack is 12L. So maybe the medium size (14L) sea to summit compression would be ideal
Have you gotten to use this bag on a 50 or 60° night? Is it too hot?

I store mine in my panniers. I have the Giantloop Round the World Panniers. I’ve also stored it in a dry bag on the tail of the bike
Hello, what sleeping pad is that looks wide. Can you give some info/review. Thank for the video. I had 2 nights that were uncomfortable bag and pad.
The sleeping pad looks like a Klymit V Luxe
Hey, just ordered my bag yesterday. What size sea to summit compression sack did you get for the Nemo?
So sorry to get back to you so late. It is a size medium
Perfect......I ordered one this morning.
What size compression sack would you recommend for the long version of the Nemo Forte?
You said Medium, but unable to determine the medium size compression bag. I purchased the forte for women today in long and the included compression sack is next to impossible to fit the bag into due to the loftiness of the bag. I am looking for a compression sack this will fit in... is the one you got a 14L bag or the 10L?
Which size eVent stuff sack are you using with it?
The medium
Great Review. 👍
Also just an add on, I also use the same Sea to Summit stuff sacks they are brilliant
What size did you order for the sleeping bag? 6 Liter or 20 liter?
What make/model is your tent?
It’s a cabelas ultra light backpacking tent. They no longer make it. It looks like a copy of the Big Agnus copper spur tent. It’s a great tent.
how is this bag still holding up
It’s great, but I’m current testing the Zenbivy sleep system and I think it’s even better! Video coming soon
What sleeping pad are you using, it looks a little wider than some others I’ve been checking out - again, useful for a restless side sleeper!

Absolutely. I’ve been moto camping for years in the backcountry and many times alone and not once ever have I had a bear come into my camp. Not that it’s not a possibility that it won’t happen, but I’m always prepared for it if it were to.
How would you rate this against the Kellty cosmic 20 - approximately the same price. I’m trying to decide. Thank you! Great video!

Is this a Forte 20? I’m going back & forth between the 20 Vs 35.
Yes this is the 20. I went with it because even events it’s in the 50s at night it’s not too hot. It’s a very comfortable bag

My 45 year old Northface down bag is pretty much dead at this point. This looks good.
