    Hey thanks, great video. I’ve never cooked over a Swedish torch nor do I ever cook with cabbage so I’ve got to try this. Enjoy the day, cheers

    I only cooked with salt pork once. Great use of the Swedish torch. I added this to the Cast Iron Wednesday play list. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us, Marc. Stay safe and stay cool

    That torch was amazing! I was also impressed with your dog's self-control while you were preparing the pork! 👍👍👍

      The torch is a fun one to make! Lexy is a good girl, every dog I have had I trained to be self fed, that makes them non food driven.
      Thanks for coming out Daryl✌️

    That looks like a good meal and the swedish torch heat source adds a special element to this video. This reminded me of a meal popular in the Maritimes: salt cod and pork scraps. It looks like Lexie enjoyed the meal too because she lapped up the fat you drained off- nothing goes to waste with a dog around.Thanks for showing us this cooking technique and recipe. All the best to you Marc!

      It does have some similarities with salt cod! The principle is the same!

    Hello my friend, nice to greet you. The process to remove the brine from the pork is the same that we use here to remove the salt from a fish called dried manta ray. I'm sure I'd like that pork meal a lot. Usually my wife does not add seasoning to our meals, the vegetables are enough to give the food a special flavor. Blessings to you my friend, take care.

    • @OpenAirOutdoors
      @OpenAirOutdoors  Год назад

      Yes exactly! The method is the same with fish! A simple but delicious meal!

    Looks great Marc . I make my own salt pork . I boil it first in 50-50 water & milk. After cooking in a cast iron pan a simple roo gravey is off the charts too. An old recipe pasted on from my ancestors.
