Hey thanks, great video. I’ve never cooked over a Swedish torch nor do I ever cook with cabbage so I’ve got to try this. Enjoy the day, cheers
Thanks for watching Ed, let me know what you think of it👍
Great job Marc! Looked absolutely delicious! Thanks Brother! 🍻
It was! Even you can do this😆
Thanks Doug✌️
I only cooked with salt pork once. Great use of the Swedish torch. I added this to the Cast Iron Wednesday play list. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us, Marc. Stay safe and stay cool
Thats perfect! I meant to send you a message about adding this video to the play list👍 Glad you enjoyed Sean✌️
That torch was amazing! I was also impressed with your dog's self-control while you were preparing the pork! 👍👍👍
The torch is a fun one to make! Lexy is a good girl, every dog I have had I trained to be self fed, that makes them non food driven.
Thanks for coming out Daryl✌️
I love using a Swedish torch. I never tried salted pork, just salted beef, going to give this a try,
I'm sure you won't be disappointed! Let me know how yours turn out👍
Thanks for coming out✌️
Looks good. Will share the video with my oldest son who loves camping.
Awesome, thank you! This is a great recipe for camping!
Thanks Vivian✌️
That looks like a good meal and the swedish torch heat source adds a special element to this video. This reminded me of a meal popular in the Maritimes: salt cod and pork scraps. It looks like Lexie enjoyed the meal too because she lapped up the fat you drained off- nothing goes to waste with a dog around. Thanks for showing us this cooking technique and recipe. All the best to you Marc!
It does have some similarities with salt cod! The principle is the same!
Thanks for coming along Craig✌️
@@OpenAirOutdoors It looked delicious!
Hello my friend, nice to greet you. The process to remove the brine from the pork is the same that we use here to remove the salt from a fish called dried manta ray. I'm sure I'd like that pork meal a lot. Usually my wife does not add seasoning to our meals, the vegetables are enough to give the food a special flavor. Blessings to you my friend, take care.
Yes exactly! The method is the same with fish! A simple but delicious meal!
Thanks for coming along Coyote✌️
That looked like a meal fit for a king, brother.
It sure is my friend👍 You could do this with deer and beacon as well!
Thanks John✌️
Omg Marc. That looked some good. Better than any 5 star restaurant.
Kenny
I'm not sure about 5*! But it was a home run 😆
Thanks Kenny✌️
I'm going to have to give cooking with a Swedish torch a try.
you don't get much control of the heat but it is a fun way to cook!
Thanks Jared✌️
Marc, that really looked delicious. I bet it smelled incredible when it was cooking. I had never seen a Swedish fire torch, that was amazing. I learned something new again today.
Ya the torch is pretty cool huh! Supper was a winner for sure👍
thanks John✌️
Look good.👏👏
Thanks Masi it sure was👍
Excelente aventura, saludos cordiales desde chile 🙋♂️🇨🇱👍🤝👏⛏️💍🗝️
Thanks you Talca! I'm happy you're enjoying✌️
Looks great Marc . I make my own salt pork . I boil it first in 50-50 water & milk. After cooking in a cast iron pan a simple roo gravey is off the charts too. An old recipe pasted on from my ancestors.
Sounds great! And supper easy to prepare isn't it!
Thanks Steve ✌️
@Open Air Outdoors I can't eat the store bought stuff . I buy the whole pork belly. My video is well over 30K now :) I had no idea people today would know what it is 😂🤣
@@SteveRobReviews I'll have to go check it out! I'm not surprised it is popular. The whole prepping thing is a big these days and that includes food preservation!
@Open Air Outdoors You should make a how to do it yourself video then . I don't have the same audience.
Oh Man !!!! That looks delicious !!! Thanks for letting me live vicariously from my hospital bed Marc hahaha !!! I just got served boiled green beans, sticky white rice and a poached drumstick 😢 !! I like what you're making better !!!!! Hahaha !!!
👍👍🌲🌲🌲🇨🇦🍻
OMG! Hospital food is terrible! I feel for you buddy! I'm hoping you're home by now!
Take care of yourself Tim✌️
Howdy Marc- wow, that looks so good! We can’t get good salt pork anymore. The last I bought wasn’t fit to eat. Hope all is well. God bless
Oh that's to bad! But a home made salt pork is easy to put together, or beef!
Thanks Paul✌️
How's she goin'? Your fire torch was working great eh. Salt pork, maybe with a 24 that would be OK. LOL Take care!!
Well you know an adult drink can go a long way😆
Thanks Mike✌️
