The Matador fight is actually much easier than its Nocturne counterpart because of the changes in the mechanics. He has Red Capote, but buffs in this game only go up to two stages and are temporary, so you can just wait it out. The main bonus he has is that he has access to a skill that guarantees landing a physical attack that is also a crit.
@@Mhopson968 yeah, that's a gripe I have with the game. It tells you a boss is coming, but not how strong it is. The DLC is a constant offender, given the promotion only says things such as "for endgame" for both Cleopatra and Mephisto, who are eighteen levels apart, and the Fiends are supposed to be a threat throughout your whole adventure, but Matador is two levels higher than the second major boss despite being available before beating the first. Unsurprisingly, I died to his opening attack. Even the vanilla game isn't immune from this, with Huang Long being level 70 after asking you to beat 4 bosses that never went over 40.

I'm so glad that Atlus didn't drop the ball on Demifiend's fight because I was initially concerned that they might actually dumb down the fight since they know this is potentially a lot of people's first foray into the mainline series. I can't wait to see the newcomer's faces when they decide to fight him and are absolutely demolished by him via Gaea Rage, just as we were in DDS. For those that have fought him in DDS and now V, how's the PTSD? :D
WeaponXSigma He’s actually easier in V. Because you don’t need to worry about his demons slinging Mamudoon and instantly killing you as long as you aren’t weak to it. Also your entire team can reflect physical attacks. And he won’t pop off Gaea Rage. He will only pop it off if you fail to kill any of his Demons within 5 turns, or you use Tetrakarn or an Attack Mirror. Also none of his attacks Pierce besides the obvious one. And Demi-fiend doesn’t nullify any attacks. And all his Demons have the weaknesses they normally would, so Jack Frost will get lit up. So in essence, it is a DPS race. The issue with the DDS fight and why I argue it is the worst designed Superboss in the franchise, it is luck based. The Demi-fiend always goes first in that fight, then his Girimehkala, and it can sling Mamudoon immediately. And if you’re unlucky attempt, that can be a first turn party wipe. And that is not even from a damage dealing move or a “breaking the rules” move. That is a luck based move. If manage to avoid Mamudoon, then you’ll have to manage to survive all the critical hits that’ll make the Minotaur from SMT IV blush. Also all of Demi-fiends attacks cause status ailments, so a lot of the fight can go sour and you’ll have to spend entire turns just to get your entire team back up.
@@theomnigamer9177 ....you do know that he can still crit with freikugel right? Alejandro Rodríguez I know that he can can Crit with Friekugel. But he just used Deadly Fury on the demon I just swapped in that reflected physical attacks. Chaotic Will wasn’t too bad for me. It only KO’d one of my Demons. The annoying part was reducing the amount of Press Turns. But if have been good on DPS and swap in a new Demon that reflects physical, he will use Deadly Fury which doesn’t Pierce. So if his Demons never gets their turns, it should be even less of a problem. Another major difference between the two versions, it’s not like he has an AOE Friekugel and get Crits that way. Because that was the issue with DDS. If you Nullified anything, Gaea Rage would pop off, this makes it so you have to take every Crit to the face and spend time getting back up to snuff. I’ve only beaten the DDS Demi-fiend once, and in SMT V I’ve beaten him almost 6 times. I probably won’t touch SMT V for a while since I’ve done all there is to do, including every ending.

Posted this in the tips video: once you get Thoth with Megido you don't have to find weaknesses for Mitama in the first area anymore. Just Megido the group, and even though they resist almighty they don't have enough health to withstand it. This plus the MC's almighty/physical skill learned from the 3rd Aogami essence and the Mitamas are a complete joke (at least in the first area).
The grind dlc problem isn't just limited to SMT, pretty much every Atlus game since the 3ds era have had money/XP/items giving dlc. The biggest crime though personally is going from P4G which had a ton of free unlockable costumes which each gave unique reactions from all party members, to P5 where all costumes where overpriced dlc and none of your party commented on them
i bought the exp mitama dlc just to test how broken it was on a new savefile and it's not even just a little bit more mitama's nearly every single area in the game has atleast like 3 mitamas spawned in at once
I can see based on your feedback on the Mitama DLC that you haven't seen the full difference between the two. It really could just be a quality of life feature for your grinding which for busy people who can't spend 60+ hours on a game and half of it grinding, quite the big help. Rather than having to teleport around the map to recover through magatsuhi crystals or spamming the same set of enemies again and again to get exp and macca and prepare for a boss fight, it's a huge help. Of course, it takes away the enjoyment if you abuse it but if used at a fair pace, you'll still be able to enjoy the difficulty of hard mode and just saves you a day worth of grinding
my plan for the dlc is buy them for my second playthrough as I can then decide if they are worth or not or if it feels like they were removed from the base game and made into dlc just for a cashgrab
Bought the Digital Deluxe edition for the convenience, but damn I’m so enjoying this game Fither. It’s nice to play a mainline SMT again after not having done so for awhile.
I got all of the DLC and I haven't used the mitamas much other than the Glory one to just go ahead and get some of the Miracles that I REALLY wanted asap
The moment I got the menorah I went and checked it out thinking I’d talk to someone before fighting. I then got bopped my Matador and lost an hour of progress. Luckily I came back and beat him to reclaim my honor. Still I got humbled quickly.
I hope we get some free dlcs to have like proto fiend in the party and even some outfits for the MC. Armor inspired by the demi fiend and some smt outfits.
Cleopatra's one of those cases where trying to censor something backfires and makes it more suggestive than it originally was. Like when people throw in censor beeps in random scenes to make it sound like someone's swearing or saying something lewd when they aren't.
one thing i love about V is that essence has made ANY demon usable endgame im on my third run and im still using mermaid lol in fact id say low level demons end up being infinitely better than higher level ones just for being able to level up more and get more stats most of my best demons are the lower level ones like alice yoshitsune idun and mermaid and are vastly eclipsing demons like shiva beelzebub demeter and metatron in stats while they have stats in the 100 range at level 99 my lower level starting demons have stats in the 130 range at the same level lol
Since I'm starting with SMT V and am planning on playing Noctune afterwards, I guess I'll get this dlc once I've experienced them in their original game.
The whole Mitama thing would probably be better if it were a miracle to unlock during lategame instead of $$$. Though I'm pretty sure the Mitama's weakness won't matter if you just farm them at the first area with almighty skills, because they give the same items for leveling either way.
You can get their Essences if you level em up, don't know if they give them after a set amount of level ups or if it's random though. Also you can't pass down their Unique moves because, well, they're called Unique for a reason
@@faradaybed7805 Yeah this comment was before i really got a chance to play the game I was just asking because there was like no info on how the whole essence shit really worked online at the time
The way the mitama DLC works is you turn on what mitamas you want to show up and they have like a 100% chance to show up in a standard enemy batch. Of course, the most efficient way to use it is for endgame grinding where you can just use almighty skills to take them out.
I used Artemis since level 40 to level 80, for sure. She never lost her luster, it's just a matter of giving her some buffs with incenses every now and then.
mitamas are actually extremely easy to kill after you get past a certain point since there are so many piercing attacks. I got the digital deluxe so mine was included and I didnt even notice it was a thing(I actually didnt know the setting was for the spawns. I legit just read more money/exp/glory and just raised it without thinking about it). They are literally instant level ups, but they kinda suck doing early since you miss out on the extra stats from the later miracles/enhanced fusions
I don't mind the Get Strong DLC as long the game don't have Competition V.S modes. Even though i not into competition stuff. I usually use em , depending on the games , Testing builds, combos on 2nd or up gameplay , or to goof around. Or to use for SuperBoss grinds (unless it don't take to long , probably won't use it).
I wish the quests just have the recommended levels like other RPGs. I waited until the end game to do the Demi-Fiend quest (even after the super boss) and was super over-leveled until Demi-Fiend.
i just got the mitama dlc with the delux bundle, i mostly keep it off except for when i wanna grab a level or 2 without having to spend 30 minutes grinding, cause i mostly just avoid battles in order to explore or grab fusion fodder and end up a bit underleveled as a result, side quests definitely help though. for me the mitamas are just there to save some extra time. the only one ive never touched was the glory one, as glory is a finite resource and i feel like i would be cheating myself if i turned that one on.
Speaking of NG+, how is it for SMT? Is it worth playing after completingthe main story? (I'd consider P5 Scramble's NG+ as worth playing). P5 and vanilla are really just for the additional fight and completionist for the platinum trophy and Thieves Den, but Scramble's jump in difficulty makes it feel like you are honing your skills and knowledge.
I gotta say, Atlus doesn't get enough shit for their scummy DLC practices. Sure, their games are great, but i feel like companies like EA or Activision get (justifiably) scrutinized for that while Atlus gets a slap on the wrist. Cutting out content like that to sell day 1 for the additional price can never be acceptable for a full price game.
It lets you adjust the spawn rate of Mitama's in options....You can have either a slight increase, or have the damn things littered everywhere. Ill prolly use them on the 2nd playthrough just to steamroll and see what I missed.
Atlus' DLC/re-release practices are fucking gross tbh. Appreciate your reviewing the content but I'll never support content blatantly removed from the game. Like ffs Atlus at least release it as post launch content not day and date with the release at half the price of the game.
I might get those demons as more demons is always fun. Still, fighting the demi-field will be interesting because I can then kick my own arse. I love Nocturne and so to see how hard as fuck he has become kinda makes me proud that I saw his rise to godhood.
Okay so the Mitama’s are a great way for end game grinding. So I won’t have to put in 10hours just to hit lvl 99 or fuse what I need because I don’t have the money. Saying the dlc is useless is a stretch
Yeah it's definately not useless when trying t grind up to fight Shiva and Demi-fiend, unlike Apocalypse, their aren't any enemy mob encounters in the high 80's and 90's
well bought the dlc anyway maybe i can use them in ng+ for other endings like a like a fiend run and a punshing cleopatra artemis and Mephisto only run thanks for the video
Why. The hell. Is there no bundle by itself? Demi-Fiend is very much the only DLC I'm getting but I was hoping each one came with a set of demons as well
I know the Shin Megami Tensei 1 protagonist is pretty average when it comes to Megaten protags, but I think we should get dlc where we get to fight him. To be honest I’m not really saying this because of his strengths or feats though, but more of because he was the first Shin Megami Tensei protag. Nakajima was THE first MegaTen protagonist, but I don’t like his personality all too much. I’ve always found the concept of protagonists of a series going up against the OG protag who were in the start of everything so cool. Demi-Fiend is neat and all, but Digital Devil Saga already gave us a taste of his power. I’d like to see what the real smt ogs could do. ESPECIALLY Aleph.
don't have a lot of cash so I'll probably buy the extra quests over time. Also it really feels scummy when DLC is announced before the game even releases, feels like they're selling you back what should have already been in the initial purchase. Out of this batch, I think the quests should have been in the game. Demifiend and the Mitamas could have been DLC and they could've added costumes for the player as well like unique armor looks or previous protag appearances.
Nice that you get his essence, but honestly, at the point where you have to be to beat him - You wont need the essence anymore, as you have truly finished the game lol

Artemis is sick, definitely plan on taking her to the endgame. With essence it feels like she's still going to be a physical powerhouse.
I like that Artemis is just Fem Hyoga from Saint Seiya
Artemis is worth the 5$ because now i can scream PEGASUS RYUSEI KEN during her astral saintstrike ! 👌
It looks more like Diamon Dust tbh. The fem Hyoga design also helps.
@@projectmessiah Have you seen her armor ? Obvious Saint Seiya reference
@@yagami999913 Have you watched Saint Seiya? Or did you think I was talking about someone else when I said Hyoga and Diamond Dust.
@@projectmessiah the hyoga part wasn't even there yet and i thought about jojo
@@yagami999913 Oh that's on me then because I edited the Hyoga bit in like a second after I made the comments and assumed you didn't reply that fast.
Day 1 DLC be like: "Look at all this content that could've just been in the game on release, but we decided to strip it out and sell it back to you for a premium."
Look at this predatory industry tactic that has been a thing for a decade now and therefore normalized and there's no way we can convince devs to get them out of videogames now because it's been a standard for too long
@@MastaGambit this is the correct take, we have to rebuild everything from the ground up to stop this. Individual action is useless in stopping these practices.
I choked when I heard the word "Cleopatrussy" holy shit
Fither: Do not look up Artemis's old design
Me: Ok....
*looks it up anyways*
Also me: why?
I like how you need to the quest first to get dlc demons. It was broken AF in persona 5 where you could just get them strait away at lvl 1
Fither: her magic stat is really good
Me looks at the number: heh nice
The grind dlc problem isn't just limited to SMT, pretty much every Atlus game since the 3ds era have had money/XP/items giving dlc. The biggest crime though personally is going from P4G which had a ton of free unlockable costumes which each gave unique reactions from all party members, to P5 where all costumes where overpriced dlc and none of your party commented on them
Wait yes they do if you talk to them before exploring iirc
i bought the exp mitama dlc just to test how broken it was on a new savefile and it's not even just a little bit more mitama's nearly every single area in the game has atleast like 3 mitamas spawned in at once
"Are you really gonna use Artemis from level 37 to like level 80?"
*sweats in leveling Idun to level 65 and still using her*
Is there a DLC to have *[REDACTED]* with Nahobino? 😇🙏
"Then I get to demi fiend and this happens"
Tire ad shows
XD
Ah, I love fighting Demi-fiend in Digital Devil Saga and hearing that he is comparable to that is definitely going to be a purchase for me.
Oh yes I wish Artemis did a headcrush on me...
6:00 Artemis is like a female Pegasus Seiya (ok another one I know of the spin off) and that's neat
I love how demifiends essence resistances is a reference to the masakados magatama resistances. It is those little things that make me happy.
my plan for the dlc is buy them for my second playthrough as I can then decide if they are worth or not or if it feels like they were removed from the base game and made into dlc just for a cashgrab
Fithers starting EYYYYYYY gives me 10 years more life
Bought the Digital Deluxe edition for the convenience, but damn I’m so enjoying this game Fither. It’s nice to play a mainline SMT again after not having done so for awhile.
I got all of the DLC and I haven't used the mitamas much other than the Glory one to just go ahead and get some of the Miracles that I REALLY wanted asap
Smt 5 protagonists: omae wa mou shindeiru
Demi fiend: uno reverse
Smt 5 protagonists: NANI
Well I had enough eshop coin points to basically get all the dlc for free so I just got the bundle that has all the dlc.
Tfw you already know what Artemis looked like
The moment I got the menorah I went and checked it out thinking I’d talk to someone before fighting. I then got bopped my Matador and lost an hour of progress. Luckily I came back and beat him to reclaim my honor. Still I got humbled quickly.
After 4 days struggling, I beat the King on hard difficulty last night. That was so satisfying. ☺️
I hope we get some free dlcs to have like proto fiend in the party and even some outfits for the MC. Armor inspired by the demi fiend and some smt outfits.
I actually did use artemis pretty much the entire time in smt5 once i was able to get her. She’s insane.
I wouldn't pay for these but these are cool shits man, the demons are cool and the demi-fiend is an absolute beast.
It is cut content since its day 1. Good for you fornot buying it
Cleopatra's one of those cases where trying to censor something backfires and makes it more suggestive than it originally was. Like when people throw in censor beeps in random scenes to make it sound like someone's swearing or saying something lewd when they aren't.
Thanks for the review! I was still not sure if I want to spend money on the Dlcs, but I'm definitely getting the one with Demifiend!
one thing i love about V is that essence has made ANY demon usable endgame im on my third run and im still using mermaid lol in fact id say low level demons end up being infinitely better than higher level ones just for being able to level up more and get more stats most of my best demons are the lower level ones like alice yoshitsune idun and mermaid and are vastly eclipsing demons like shiva beelzebub demeter and metatron in stats while they have stats in the 100 range at level 99 my lower level starting demons have stats in the 130 range at the same level lol
Wow, I think this is the most I’ve ever heard someone speak in a Valley accent. At least that’s what we call it in southern California
5:07 Truth. We all simp for Cleopatra and Idunn.
Add Mermaid and Alice, maybe Mara too for some
Since I'm starting with SMT V and am planning on playing Noctune afterwards, I guess I'll get this dlc once I've experienced them in their original game.
I like how it seems Demi-Fiend's kind of wandering around just doing his thing and main characters from other games run into him
The whole Mitama thing would probably be better if it were a miracle to unlock during lategame instead of $$$. Though I'm pretty sure the Mitama's weakness won't matter if you just farm them at the first area with almighty skills, because they give the same items for leveling either way.
Can you get the essences from the DLC demons and their unique skills too? Like Mephisto's unpronounceable dark move?
You can get their Essences if you level em up, don't know if they give them after a set amount of level ups or if it's random though. Also you can't pass down their Unique moves because, well, they're called Unique for a reason
@@faradaybed7805 Yeah this comment was before i really got a chance to play the game I was just asking because there was like no info on how the whole essence shit really worked online at the time
In games with demon evolution its sometimes viable (and I'd think recommended with the angel line) to keep the same demon the whole game
She never lost her luster, it's just a matter of giving her some buffs with incenses every now and then.
yeah, glad they changed Artemis' design it's less..... mountainous than the original.
hopefully they change Diana next.
mitamas are actually extremely easy to kill after you get past a certain point since there are so many piercing attacks.

"Are you really going to be using Artemis from level 37...to like, level 80?"
Yes.
Itd be great if they release more quest DLCs like Messiahs in the diamond realm.
"Don't look up Artemis's design? I mean it can't be that bad. *starts to look it up* I mean it can't be as Mara and--WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!"
It's a menorah in nocturne, candelabrum was a mistranslation that was fixed in the remaster
i just got the mitama dlc with the delux bundle, i mostly keep it off except for when i wanna grab a level or 2 without having to spend 30 minutes grinding, cause i mostly just avoid battles in order to explore or grab fusion fodder and end up a bit underleveled as a result, side quests definitely help though. for me the mitamas are just there to save some extra time. the only one ive never touched was the glory one, as glory is a finite resource and i feel like i would be cheating myself if i turned that one on.
What level should we be before buying DLC demons? Not including demi dude?
6:54 Got her to level 99, maxed out her strength potential to +9, and she delivered the killing blow to the final boss.
Is it good, worth 60 bucks? I have had trouble getting into SMT games but LOVE Persona.
Get a drink every time he says 'Like' and get cirrhosis before the middle of the video
Pro tip: buy spyglass and mitamas are nothing
well bought the dlc anyway maybe i can use them in ng+ for other endings like a
like a fiend run
and a punshing cleopatra artemis and Mephisto only run
thanks for the video
haven't seen it, but I think I know enough Classical History to figure out the old Artemis design...
Why. The hell. Is there no bundle by itself? Demi-Fiend is very much the only DLC I'm getting but I was hoping each one came with a set of demons as well
I like how Artemis is a Saint Seiya shout out.
I have used Artemis from level 37 to the Demi-Fiend fight
Nice that you get his essence, but honestly, at the point where you have to be to beat him - You wont need the essence anymore, as you have truly finished the game lol
