After comparing to the Colorado, and being able to get the GM employee discount, I'll take the Nissan, Even with my discount for the money you can't beat the Nissan and you can't beat that V6 with that screaming four cylinder turbo, It won't last as long as this V6.
It’s crazy I used to love Gm but the quality isn’t there anymore. Also no offering a V6 is a big miss.
Love my frontier!!
The Frontier is the smart choice. 🙌

I’d really like pro4X with the six foot bed! Cmon Nissan
Was about to post this. The Pro4X would be great with 6’ bed and power sliding rear wondie
Canada has King Cab Pro 4x
I need a pro 4 X king cab too. 6’ bed is a must have.
I just got a 2023 fully loaded pro4x Friday. In love with
Nice. I got a 2023 in November last year. Glacier white. Cruise control is my biggest gripe
@@Blue-moon12 whats wrong with the cc? im thinking about getting a pro4x 2024.
@n0xxm3rcyxx it likes to drop too many gears when on an incline. Revs past 5k at times. My only gripe
Bought a brand new 2022 Frontier SV long wheel base model. Had over a year now and LOVE it. Power engine and the trans is always in the right gear. A gem of a drive train. I’d buy it again.
They have a programable fix for cruise control
Really well done video. It’s rare to see a head to head comparison between the SV and the P4X. Thanks.
Who else is here because they didn’t want to know about some turbo 4 😅 rip turbo 4 tacoma hello Nissan frontiers, buy these while you can before the msrp and dealerships start gouging
That’s why I’m here 😂
I bought a new Frontier SV a year ago. I love it. The drive train is a gem. Smooth, powerful, and always in the right gear. BTW - Exceptionally well done video. Very professional camera work and the presenter exudes professionalism. Top notch and super informative.
Very good quality video and explanation of the differences. Very professional. Nicely done.
My husband got the 2024 Nissan Frontier SV King Cab he really likes his new truck. He usually buys Toyota's but he drove the 2023 Tacoma and was not impressed by it so he bought the Nissan instead.
I bought a SV with the premium package that included LED headlights, tech package and also side steps with the 6 foot bed. I then upgraded my tires to Flaken Wildpeaks and put a steel skid plate underneath. In my opinion thats the better option.
Does it comes with the rear locker differential?
No Sv does not have a rear locker. @@elburropardo1661
@@elburropardo1661No, the SV has a limited slip rear differential, but no e locker.
Ahhh no locker
I have a 2024 Pro-4X. Very happy with two exceptions. No telescoping steering wheel and the 360 cameras quality. I have a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder which has a telescoping steering wheel and better quality cameras. Other than that very happy with the truck. Biggest positive for me was it was the only mid size truck with a naturally aspirated V6 other than the Honda Ridgeline or Jeep Gladiator, both of which I wasn’t interested in.
My same complaints and the awful cruise control. I have 23 Pro 4x
I’m a smaller guy and the non-telescoping wheel is fine for me. I’m able to find a comfortable driving position no problem.
The low-res cameras could be better for sure but they get the job done. I’ve owned my Frontier over a year now and love it. I’d buy it again.
I recently purchased a 2024 Pro4X and love it. My only complaint so far is about the cargo/ bed lamp switch. I guess I am from the old school, where if you want to turn the lights on, I would think you would push the top of the rocker switch and down to turn them off. Not in my case unless they installed the wires wrong on the switch, up side down. On my Pro4X, you push the bottom of the rocker to turn the cargo/ bed lights on and push the top to turn it off. I wish the rocker switch would have an indicator light that would illuminate when on. And the owner's manual reads to make sure not to leave the cargo/ bed lights on, or you will get a dead battery. Would also of been nice if they timed off after 5, 10, 15 or any amount of minutes. Other than that, love this truck.
Rocker switch is wired wrong. Pull it out and flip it or look at the wiring and switch it the wires to the correct positions, it's easy.
Only Truck with a natural V6 and gorgeous design, good job Nissan don't stop making these!
Very well done. Not sure how this got in my suggested videos list, but I’m impressed by your presentation style and camerawork. Better than some professional reviewers. Only suggestion would be to add an on-road driving portion, so people can hear what the car sounds like while driving. (Gear shifts, wind noise, etc).
Your flow and presentation is very polished. Bravo
Too bad the pro4x can’t option a 6 foot bed. 😩😩
I would buy the Nissan in this segment if only for the NA V6...Those motors are very reliable and last forever
Bought a 2024 Pro-4X… after about 4,000 miles very pleased. Pros… comfortable seats and stable road manners; technology and cameras reasonably good (still learning tech); fit and finish great; dual climate control; impressed with just over 24mpg on mixed road 350 mile trip and around 19mpg in everyday driving; Handled deep sand (air down to 18psi) without blinking (couple others struggled on a dune but who knows about their psi etc). Cons… are few and not all that important to me… no telescoping steering (but I’m comfortable) and no back vents for AC (would probably be blocked by the dog hammock anyhow). Competition might be better in some aspects but the Pro-4X is comfortable, reliable, and capable at a very attractive price point.
Nice to see an actual comparison of the same truck with the same wheel base and bed. A lot of reviewers forget that the frontier comes in 2 wheel base ,short for the five foot bed and six foot bed for the long wheel base. Pro 4x gets the upgraded bilstein shocks ,skid plates and all terrain tires. The ride will be better than the SV model. In Canada we get both pro 4x in crew cab as you see and king cab. USA gets only king cabin the S or SV model only. And also you also get two wheel drive as base and 4 x4 as option. In Canada we only get 4x4.
Can you get a pro 4x in Canada with 6ft bed?
@@gordmonteath6090 yes only King cab you get the six foot bed not the the five foot bed. Four doors for pro 4x you get five foot bed with shorter wheel base, only. S and SV model you get six foot bed and longer wheel base no five foot bed for the four doors.
Excellent video!
I own a 2010 4WD crew cab that I bought new. This has been a faithful vehicle through the years and I would have a hard time trading it in for another one because it's a darn good vehicle!
I bought the 2020 pro 4x. Old body style but the new engine transmission. I paid $32,800 at 0/60 payments at 547 per month. Nissan nickle and dimes on the pro 4 x now according to what features you want. Trucks today are about 25 -30 percent over priced. The sticker on my 2020 was a little over 40,000. I never ever pay MSRP or above.
Excellent. Thank you!
Good for you, but I’d like to see what the differences in the sticker price between the two. How much was SV snd how much was the Pro ?
I love it...Power is everything
Pro-4x for me all day
As a guitar player I heard the pro 4 x has a fender sound system I’d be interested to hear it
I bought the two-door SV 4x4 and there is absolutely no protection under the truck. The front "skid plate" is pathetic. The transmission pan is made out of plastic, as well as the huge gas tank that has no shielding either. Apparently you can buy the two-door SV pro-4X with rear lockers and the 6-ft bed in Canada but they don't think the Americans want that.... It's a shame Nissan, I totally would have bought that if it was available to me
Love to see the Pro-4x package with the 6' bed. Sadly on the SV has the longer bed.
Canada we have 6ft bed Pro 4x
@@Blue-moon12Yea but y’all pay craaaazy prices for stuff up there.
That was my disappointment when buying the pro, the 6 foot bed would have been the perfect pro version
Finally some does a comparison wish the SV had a rear locker that pro 4x needs a winch
What pickup comes with winch?
I love mine with the midnight package
I wish Nissan make this nice Truck available in Manual Transmission… To Bad.. I will order one from Europe…
Ty for sharing the vid.
either one is sweet lookin ... but they are killin it adding that auto start / stop, I would even pay extra to have that removed before purchase ... complete annoyance of a system
Turn it off then
i can see these trucks increasing in sales, now that toyota has ruined the tacoma.
Yep. I’m a new Frontier owner for that very reason. 20+ years driving Toyota trucks and the new Tundra and Tacoma were off my shopping list. Nagging quality issues, crappy turbos, insane pricing, and cartoonish bro-dozer styling were all a hard pass.
Unfortunately where I live, they all have a $5K mark up, smh. Can’t believe dealerships are still doing that shit. I knew Toyota would do that but Nissan? C’mon…
I'll take the sv BUT only with the crew can 6ft bed
If only nissan made 6ft bed pro4x
What no one talks about in these reviews is the thick textured paint (almost unnoticeable) on the lower portion of the door panels between the wheels and behind the rear wheels. I'm assuming that's for better protection from road grime of sorts. The bottom half always takes more abuse than the top half of the vehicle.
Thats what its for. Protecting lower panel from gravel chips. By way my 09 Silverado had it
The Frontier is looking better all the time.
I used to own a 23 p4x, loved the truck, had no issues with it. that NA V-6 screamed reliability ,despite the poor MPG. My only complaint is the back seats are too straight. If it slightly reclined a little bit, that would've been golden for me.
How often do you sit in the back seat of your own truck?
Rear defroster? Anyone? My 2010 LE had one.
Love my 2022 pro4x. Wish Nissan would have made changes to front upper control arm from last gens. You'll still get bucket drop if you lift or add level kit unless you switch to new UCA or titan swap... Cant wait for Z1 Offroad to release the supercharger kit!
Awesome truck
Why do they have such a heavy steer to them where as the titan is smooth? Also note the Titan has a Greater warranty and the extended warranty is even better.
😮oh orange accents. I’ll take 2
Sad they don’t offer the Pro4x in King cab in the US. Not sure why because they do offer it in Canada
Right that's the reason I had to get a sv and the sv doesn't come with a rear locking differential which is a bummer so I had to drop 1700$ to get a arb air locker on my sv.
I own a 2023 Pro 4x. Love the truck, but no telescopic steering wheel, poor cruise control as it drops gears on the slightest incline. Its not good. I do like the trucks simplicity, hydraulic power steering, naturally aspirated engine.
EDIT: TSB for the transmission solved its cruise control issues.
Congrats! You paid it off cash?
@@triplehsheartattack8515 Nope. I traded my 2018 Genesis G80 Sport plus money down. 3 year finance
I rented an sv trim, but it was a 23 with less luxuries. The only thing i did not like was those halogen headlights. They were so dull that at a point i did not think they were on while driving at night.
I heard the halogens on the Frontier are terrible. Go with LED
Maybe it’s perspective, but coming off the ownership of an older Tundra, the halogen lights on my new Frontier are awesome.
I have an sv but it has the led headlights and they’re great.
No back seat under storage like the others???
I have the 2023 Pro 4X with every option available. Came out to just over $50,000. Great truck, but needs a little more room in back passenger seats
Unfortunately none of the midsize trucks are really made for backseat passengers to be comfortable.
If Nissan made a Frontier with crew cab, 6 foot bed,6 cyl, and leather interior, I would already have one. Give the people what they want.
i have a 2023 sv , leather, and a 6 foot box…
@@arniebuchholz2099 Crew Cab also?
@@arniebuchholz2099not crew cab. U have the small cab
@@Soxruleyanksdroolno,they dont make that
@Its_a_Grimm That's why I said "if".
Are the cameras still terrible on the Nissans?
Doesn't really describe what features are part of optional packages. Pretend bead lockers for example, I think are an optional add on. Also, I've seen a number of pro4-x models on dealer lot without bed liner or bed power outlet.
Yes, those are optional wheels...
You didn’t mention anything about price difference amounts….. all you said was price point about five times.
Bring it here in the Philippines
Day my son graduated from college he looked at Tacoma turbo in it lagged and hesitated didn’t car for that or 50,000 price tag, told him check out Nissan his fiancé father said they were junk, went with him it drove nice turns could be better but engine just screamed 9 speed transmission 310 horse power 6 ft bed he bought it 37000 out the door
My son in law was impressed he bought one a week later
Nissan has a bad rep for several years now, and its well deserved... but its not from any problems on their trucks, their trucks are great.
Does the pro 4x version affect the gas mileage? Or are they the same?
The Pro4x is listed about 1mpg worse. I have a 23 crew cab sv 4wd and it averages about 18. The computer always reads about 3mpg better than what you’re actually getting if you calculate it by hand.
Pro4x needs model with a double cab plus a 6ft bed or even a 5.5ft.
5ft bed just restrict space for being a truck. The are people buying trucks to load large items.
I totally agree with you! the new Dad buys a Crew cab for the kids.
I wish the long bed Crew cab came with all the extras, it makes no sense to me why it didn't, my 2005 Ls came loaded.
In Canada you can get the 6ft bed Pro 4x
@Blue-moon12 I knew it!!
people didn't believe me here when I told them!
Thank you for setting this straight with them.
Where in Canada, what is the name of there Nissan dealership please.
I know Ontario Pretty well, I had to get a key lock for my rims when I was in Ontario.
I truly love Canada🇨🇦!
Brad.
Pro4x with 6ft bed does not have crew cab in Canada which is dumb
Does the SV turn any tighter of a circle than the Pro4x or just as bad?
I imagine just as bad- 23’prox
It's a truck not meant to be nimble with a good turning radius.
The Frontier has never been known for a great turning radius. Like anything else, you adjust. I have a ‘22 SV long wheel base model, with an even wider turning radius. For the first couple weeks it was an annoyance, now, I don’t even think about it….unless I’m towing my trailer lol.
Where are the factory roof racks?
So much expensive tech I just don't need. Always loved the Frontier for being a bare bones tough truck, now pricing the average buyer out of the market. Nissan did the same thing with the Armada. I had a 2004 and it was a capable truck I bought for low 30's. Now they are $60k+. Had to replace it and bought a '19 Frontier for $19K in 2020. Now they are $40K+. I can't afford the Chevy's or Ford's or even Ram's, so where is the average American to go for an affordable utility truck? Not everyone wants to pay for a luxury vehicle.
I want pro with 6 feet bed
What’s the price difference?
In my area these two trucks are anywhere from $1000-$8000 apart
Wish they sold the frontier king cab P4X here in the states like they do in can ad ia
Have 18 years on my 2006 Frontier SE (SV predecessor) Crew 4x4 (6MT). Still too good a truck to drop ($40K-$50K) on a new midsize...
Got 2023 SV, no Compass???? WTH? Does 24. Remember COMPASS?
Nice video I think the v6 engines should last long hopefully a truck like this get u 400k miles?
Where are these trucks made?
Mississippi
If Nissan really wanted to steal more narket share they would offee the 5.6 V8 as an option,as well flare the fenders and lift the truck 2-3 inches from the factory on higher trim levels like Chevy/GMC. The 5.6 had cylinder deactivation and pulling less weight than a Titan, i think Highway mileage might actually be decent.
So the SV does not have rear diff locker?
I think it's an option.
Bummer that they don’t include led headlight on the sv
SL has them also; they are always trying to provide incentive to move up to a more expensive trim level...
Nice trucks the 7 series for the money should have the sun roof and led lights standard .
LED all around should be standard, yes... but not sunroof, that should always be an option, I hate those things and just asking for problems.... tall people hate them too it takes away head room.
No longbed in the pro 4x 😢
These are the best trucks that you can buy, please Nissan dont mess these trucks up
PRICING would have been nice to compare???????
The Colorado bed is actually really tiny.
Shilling hard for the model. Prices must be terrible because he did not mention them.
Great trucks. NISSAN needs to bring back the 4 cylinder as well as the manual trans options Why would DATSUN USA run away from over 60 years of a hard earned and well-deserved reputation and legacy of it's trucks.
But nobody is buying manual transmissions unfortunately. The numbers are not there. 4 cylinder would be underpowered. This is heavier than the previous generation.
Only drawback for me with the SV is that it doesn't come with the sunroof option. But other than that for me...I really like it
They were on the 2023 models. Nissan makes some strange decisions. Believe they want to push you into the SL trim this year...
@@devildog5354
Ok. That does make sense...smh
I have a 23 sv with a sunroof, but I never open it. A sunroof is really just something else to eventually tear up.
@@Policearegood-mt6kx 2006 Frontier SE with sunroof. Have never had an issue with it in 18 years of ownership. Good for venting heat, and it helps to make the interior feel more spacious. Sliding sunshade allows you to customize light ingress. Gives a vehicle a premium feel...
@@devildog5354 that’s good but I’ve just never been a fan of them and I can open all my windows to let out heat. In general anytime you cut a hole in the roof of a car, house, etc it will eventually cause problems.
Really well done video. I recently bought an SV model. Ŵould have liked the Pro--4X but had to have the longer bed length.
Really like my Titan, sorry to see it go away. A big mistake.
It'll be back redesigned in a few years. They need to market it better. You never in the past been flooded with titan commercials. It's always sentra, altima, and rogue commercials.
@@fishharvester9434it’ll probably come back as a rechargeable truck.
they should make the 6 foot bed an option on all trims... stupid 5 foot bed...
The biggest factor in my purchase is this: IS THE TRUCK FLAT TOWABLE BEHIND AN RV? If it cannot be then I don’t even look at the truck because it’s not worth anything to my family.
Jeep Gladiator is your only option for flat towing. Only mid size truck with a transfer case you can put into neutral.
Pro 4x all the way. It doesn't really need the side steps unless you lift this truck and add bigger trucks. I don't think the steps are helpful on trails
Agreed you’d have to be like 4 feet tall to need the steps in this truck
The best one is sv lwb 4x4
It’s also the most expensive, which is kind of insane
SV trim is the better buy all day. Same engine, same transmissions, and more. SV can go anywhere the Pro 4X can go and won't dent your wallet.
Imma take the SV then slap a big ass tires and 2 inch lift
Pro with 6' !!!!!!!
Are these good trucks? What happens if you run over a person by accident?
Its lame they do not offer a telescopic steering wheel
Make sure that you get the technology and the convenience package on your SV or you will be very disappointed. 😢
نيسان افضل سيارات❤
Adaptive cruise sucks. I wish car/truck manufacturers would let you disable that feature and just have normal cruise control. The SV is a bargain buy that's for sure but just wish it looked a little better. A little more work truck look to it compared to the Pro-4x.
You should be able to revert back to conventional cruise control on most cars. I know on Toyotas the instruction manual explains how to do it.
The adaptive cruise works well, however the cruise control in general is horrendous. Any slight incline and it sometimes drops two gears and revs over 5k! Not good.
You can on the Pro 4X I know by holding the cruise button in a couple seconds when you turn it on.
I love the cruise control, it's great in traffic, you don't even have to touch the brakes on long trips, keeps you from getting tired and stressed I feel and everybody has different feelings.
I also HATE the Red accent!!!!
it's ugly and I would request the black accent if I could!
So the short bed is a JOKE, A 6FT is a truck. my 1989,1993,2005 Nissan trucks were all 6ftbeds.
how are you supposed to goto home depot or pick up ton off wood etc. I still love the 2005 refresh, my 4wheeler fit perfectly In the 6ft bed.
The 4.0 L was a nice engine.
what are your thoughts on your comparison on the new and old?
After all these years of Mid size trucks why won't they enlarge the back seating area like 2 or 3 inches ? Same with the over all cab height ?
I always hit my head on the drivers doorsill if they would only raise it just an 1 inch what a Hugh difference it would make getting in the truck.
Why they refuse to do these little simple things is beyond my thinking..The truck bed is 1 inch short of true 5 ft. why not add the lousy inch and make it a real 5 ft. truck.
The bed is 59'' NOT 60'' Plain dumb. Least Toyota makes there bed 61 inches long.
Toyota’s high price tacoma and turbo 4 will send buyers running to nissan.
Triton
The bud light of trucks
I hate The way Nissan has their packages set up
Stop using the words "price point". You have no idea what this actually means. You are referring to price, period. No other qualifier needed, especially when the 'price' changes throughout the year based on various market variables. There is no set 'point' at which Nissan is selling these across the U.S. or anywhere else.
SV is pointless I feel
I own a 2019 f150, and I make good money, my brother got in a wreck and so he decided he wanted to go from a small car to a midsize truck, we looked at ranger lariat a Taco and brand new frontier, we ended up buying the ranger lariat and I drove every midsize truck up until the frontier which I drove when he got the ranger(they gave a frontier as a loaner for a week) and I have to say the Frontier was the WORST TRUCK I HAVE DRIVEN, it sucked even compared to my dads 08 king ranch and it cost over 50k, please drive the other trucks before buying a frontier, when they were cheap they were ok but are now ridiculous
Yea, all these trucks are over priced status symbols anymore. People seriously bragging about getting a good deal at $40,000+ for a midsize truck. lol
The hydraulic steering is so stupid. Not a single person I know think it's better than electric power steering. Good luck trying to reverse park.
Overpriced. They think they’re Tacoma’s. Looking a bit dated already.
That's the appeal. Reliable and not a ton of shit to break. Realistically they are about as good and in some of the years even did better in reliability than the taco.
