Very well done. Brought back a lot of memories. Have owned a IIA 109inch Safari Wagon, a IIA 88inch hardtop, a III 88inch Safari and a 2 door Range Rover, as well as a few unworthy Japanese things. But it is the Landies that I miss the most.

Dude, this is a beautiful film. At first I was a bit worried about accuracy of the Landy description of a 60 year old S2 when it looked like a late 2A but the individual wiper motors suggest that the wing headlights are a modification. Great cinematography!
Cheers! Yes she’s a storied truck, started life as an Air Force wagon and has even had a holden engine… swapped back to the original at some stage. I have the original radiator panel so it can be converted back to the right front… one day.
Love this LR Series 2 Cargo style, movie, and the adventure. I have the same type of Landy and experienced in some short trip. Your video is inspiring us (my Landy & myself). Thank you.

Series Land Rovers are scarce here in the US, and especially here in California. When ever I see one , I usually bend my neck trying to get a better look.

You are welcome! They are hard to tear your eyes off, I always say if you don't hurt your neck looking back at your rig as you walk away, you need a different rig 😂

Yes, we are planning to share this after a few more vlogs. At the moment I'm using a Mavic Air 2s Drone, a Gopro 11 and Sony a7siii. You may have also noticed the iphone made an appearance but that was a bit lazy of me!

Yea 2.25 petrol, good old donkey engine. Couldn't agree more haha, the next video will have more rattles, wine of the gearbox etc. Still learning how to capture everything on the go to a high enough quality. Cheers for subscribing!

There’s a reason I use the same start shot in all my videos. Can’t have the Landrover and the camera both with flat batteries 🤣

@@smiles_per_hr6408 No that would be a big job, a big kick if you didn't get clear quick enough too. Not ideal first thing in the morning 😂
My series ii 1960 2,25 is much tougher to hand crank than my 101 FCV8..
Best way to start them, especially in a crowded parking lot...
You swing the starter once, twice, getting all the attention from the japcrap owners, get out very casually, ignoring all the onlookers, pushing your hand crank through the little hole in the bumper, small turn till it's locked, and one easy fluent pull and they purrrrr like little kittens..... My favourite party trick. Love my Landies...🇿🇦

Thank you! So we camped at Basin creek the first night which is most of the way up the Avoca valley, the second night we camped at the junction between the Harper and Avoca valleys, here in Canterbury New Zealand :)

That's a very long winded way of saying you hate the sound of my voice, I have to say though mate, on that we can agree, I also hate the sound of my voice, but unfortunately that's the one I've got.
If you are having trouble starting the land rover try putting electronic engion on .

She does have electronic vs points. Its the carburettor that's been installed that makes cold starts... interesting. But its dual throat and goes harder than the zenith so I'm gunna live with it. It always starts eventurally haha. Cheers for the suggestion.
Is there tracks in the hills/mountains you can drive in or is it all flat river beds
Yes there are tracks up the mountains in some area's however a lot of teh 4x4 access in New Zealand sticks to the valleys and to get onto the tops you must walk.
Theres only 2 places in all the south island for pies... SANGAS in cromwell or fat bastards in Invercargill....and just maybe the fairlie bakery. But i got a cold pie last time i was there. Indian bloke running the show i seen.
Have heard good things about SANGAS yep. Big fan of fairlie until they switched from butter to … pretend butter. Not ideal.
Hi. In Nev Zeeland it is possible to camping every place? I want to visit Nev Zeland and rent 4x4 with roof top tent. Gretings from Poland.
Hey mate, not everywhere but their are lots of places you can especially with an off-road vehicle. If you rent a defender with a roof tent the company will give you a guide to spots you can park up with epic views! Hope that helps! Cheers for watching 🙏🏼
