thank you guys for this great demo of the Strike Pro! Finally we get to hear a good recording of decent length going through some of the more realistic kits..even the funky electronica kits you chose were excellent choices.. cymbals and hi-hat sounded a lot better than what we've heard in other vids previously. I'm Impressed with Alesis if their kit can be optimized to sound like this.. heard a lot of comments so far that some of the kits aren't living up to the hype but this video may help show us all what this set can do. Great job guys!
Everyone that's saying this kit sucks and Roland's are superior, you have to remember, to get a Roland kit of this size would easily run you $6,000+, this kit is a little over $2,000 if I remember correctly. Sure the quality isn't comparable to a Roland kit, but it's infinitely cheaper.
REALLY good drummer! I've been in music over 50 years- 40+ professionally and I still can't get over how a huge percentage of musicians have such fragile 'hurt baby' ego's that they have to knock everything- the player, the set, the sounds..... THAT'S why I refer to many of you as 'posers'... Your always thinking, 'Nah... I'll wait for a REAL opportunity' or 'I wouldn't play THAT music' or 'I'll make it big doing it MY way' or some other B.S. nonsense and most of you don't get anywhere... you just fade away... This video convinced me to seriously consider this set for a specific purpose, and the drummer is top notch!
@ Steve Marks... Good at what? Making noise? At that he is great... you've been in music for 50 years and 40 plus professional? Bull shit! . The so called demo was bad , his "playing" was sad, the kit sounds like pure shit.. I know this set can sound better have a friend that has one, but took some time to dial in. Had to replace hi- hat with a Roland, its hi hat was junk. It has many issues from sounds, triggering, quality, durability all seen and heard first hand. That said, he has gotten it sounding pretty well at this point. Meaning sounding like acoustic kit. If you like the drum machine sound then you will love it. The good basically... lotsa stuff it hit, size of heads and cymbals. The not so good... ever thing else. Your money would be better spent, with a kit in its price range, for a non named company that starts with an R... but who am I to tell a 40 year pro what sounds good!?… LOL
Why you guys complaining about the guy who played, get on with it! He's just playing along with the new Alesis flagship eDrum set and it's not about the drumming skill. You guys are more weird, honestly!
I LOVE the look of the Alesis and also the sound. Had a horrible experience with misses on cymbals on the cheaper version of this kit though and just can't go back. I went Roland on my next kit but when I upgrade it'll be Alesis again. I just love drums from all manufacturer's and you all should respect them as well. Without Roland, Yamaha, and Alesis duking it out we'd have much worse kits in general. Roland please make your kits beautiful like Alesis. Alesis please work on your trigger and cable quality. Yamaha learn from the other two. Lol.
as an owner i notice a few flaws in the system but honestly the amount of drums you get for the price makes up for it the dynamics are not as good as a roland kit but still good enough to make things work
why everyone complaining about the sound of the drum when almost every electric drums have similar sounds. isn't the feel, the precision, and the comfort of it that makes like the acoustic set. I'm pretty sure there are over hundreds of sounds in there that will satisfied someone. l luv acoustic drums thinking about going hybrid
It's obviously been designed with maximum stage friendliness in mind, but I think it just makes it look funny. I prefer Yamaha's philosophy of "it's an electronic kit, we aren't fooling anybody so why give a damn?"
LemonSlice I don't know. I like the look of my acoustic set but it's more convenient to play on an electronic set. With this one I'll get the look and feel of an acoustic set.
Wonderful drumming and a truly impressive kit. It is hilarious how much people like to dump on EVERYTHING nowadays. People are so ridiculously spoiled. Thank you for this impressive demo.
To many Roland fan boys trolling yet another Alesis demonstration video. Guess I would be pretty disgruntled if I paid 5k for an ekit with dated sounds, just to see Alesis release a kit with more features and better sounds for half the price.
Curious, do you have a newer alesis kit? I had a dm10 years ago and loved some things about it, but it did have some quality issues that ultimately led to me selling the module. I’m back in the market and trying to decide if I want to go alesis again or not.
I really wish all of these types of videos would include a section where do don't hear anything but the room sound, you know, what other people would hear without headphones on. This way you can get an idea of how much noise the physical drums make while playing them.
I think the drummer is better than the idiot critics who bash on him. Few folks can play clean with fills and in time and make it interesting without sounding like the same fills everyone plays. The KIT is being presented well. I dig that and the dude has chops, wether he seems stiff or not. The notes are being played so who fucking cares. .
i was skeptical about the sound quality too but when i actually played one of these they actually sound pretty good. and for those of you comparing this to a roland, you need to understand Roland also charged you more than 3 times what Alesis charges you so stop comparing like money is no issue.
Looks great, but I'm too terrified to buy it due to the rumours I hear around it's durability. Credit to Alesis for actually outright replacing parts relatively easily, but that shouldn't happen for that kind of money. I've never had trouble with my Roland set.
I never get why the kick drum in many of these kits sounds so "clicky". I've yet to hear an acoustic kick drum - mic'd or not - that "clicked". Kick drums should go "thud" about 60Hz, and leave a mark in your chest. Roll off those high frequencies. Thank you for your time.
I love drumming but my god the drumming community is so toxic. Just grow the hell up these commenters think they know everything and are so full of themselves...
A lot of people who think they are experts in a lot of things. A lot of them would fail blind listening tests of all sorts. Digital vs analog, acoustic vs electronic, tone bars vs sound boards, tubes vs solid state, five string vs four string, sampled vs synthesized, additive vs wave tables, blah di bloody blah already. Just relish the choices we have today and get over yourselves..
Problem is its VERY hard to get these tones out of the box. The stock set up for these kits sounds NOTHING like in the videos. I have the thing in my basement right now. And I did my updates. And no one at alesis can help me either.
So how loud are the pads to outsiders when the unit is being played? Meaning I want this kit for low volume practice but if it's pads are loud I would have to think about it. Would you post a vid with how it sounds either when it's off or how it sounds to others when you have headphones in?
How come large instrument companies still-in 2018- cannot come up with anything better than this?? Had my 2box drumit 5 for 8 (eight!) years and it crushes this. CRUSHES... The HW looks ok, IF the feel and playability checks out I wouLd hook it up to the drumit 3 module
My kit came with two short rack bars and one long one. Does the Pro come with three long bars for the rack? Because that middle bar holding the small toms, appears rather large. Without it, it's very difficult to get this thing set up ergonomically.

Dude my whole not alesis kit shakes from the roland 12 kick resting against it xD. You have to secure bass and pedals with spikes and even then really fast and hard players will rip them up
Can you guys give me some other kit ideas that have a realistic feel of an acoustic like same size of snare, toms, cymbals... just things like that. Thanks!
I have this one in my Ebay, drooling everytime I look at it. I wish I could buy it for $50.00 bucks a month, I guess I have to kill off some of these other bills, lolol.
I heard about 4 kits I loved, cool feature to be able to customize your own kits- Nothing new to Electronic drums, my only gripe is no Aux outputs to add more crashes or one more tom, or did I miss something?
If you are extremely fussy on how you feel playing an e-kit and the ease to bond with it so it just flows in comfort, the response speed, the smooth velocity in volume levels and layering then believe me, only buy this kit for a show and tell purpose like an Elite in it's appearance and visual appeal... Definitely in line with my top 3... I've played, tuned and even built better responsive kits than this and it's near impossible to keep it tuned flawlessly with some tweaking almost every play and let me tells you what a bitter feeling that creates... I can't rule out a possibility I just happened to be unlucky and got a dud faulty build? I have no doubt there are ways to improve on this by changing head to the Remo mesh (Ronalds😉) for a much much better and smooth consistent feel and I assume that a 3rd party mob has been known to put all the Elite firmware upgrades improving the sounds also but the amount of constant tweaking just destroyed that dream and avoid thinking about them😢 Looks are awesome but I'm requesting a refund and either going to wait for the flagship Gewa kits to be released (though I make it a rule never to buy 1st release model's of anything as they always have faults needing repairs or improvements but curiosity prevailed to take the risk... Good outcome overal. Got to loan and test the kit personally and spend a few month's frustratingly trying to adapt a feel but failed dismally... You get brief moments of excitement here and there but next time you turn them on your back to tweaking and adjusting everything again😒 It's too firm and stiff and feels like your playing rubber pads and the Bass Drum I'd score an overall 2/10 seriously... 1 for looks and 1 for colour choice.. It's impossible to keep still and the hours spent constantly re positioning and even Velcro over kill won't cure it. It breaks my heart as I was dying to get one and now those thoughts are dusted. And so loud are the taps and thuds from bad designing technically. It's all solid without large air space ventilation to lower the volume. It's all inclosed and who knows how it's supposed to be deadened internally to compensate the flaw as it's just not happening... For the price I would still rate it the best value although it needs lots of attention tweaking or upgrading, overall it still outweighs the alternatives in the same price range... Ronalds Flagship are still King but not by much these day's.. The Gewa are created by the leading founder Cheif engineering professor (something along those line's anyways) from the beginning with Ronalds that created the TD series 10-50.. And are sexy too☺ Unfortunately the cymbals are a little sore on the eye's underneath from the crowds view.. Hopefully they do something to correct that eye sore before official release? And you may have to hock your arse off to make up the price gap compared to the Alesis... Anyhow, that is my experience only and that does not mean it will be a negative experience for you if personally get a chance to try to decide? An overwhelming whelming amount of excellent reviews and opinions on here to suggest otherwise than mine but mine is 100% honest and a meticulous testing method was conducted and delivered raw😞😒 Anyhow, and that is how this novel ends😩😶 Cheers..
Hey dude, great video! Was wondering if you could help with something? Got a strike pro myself and been struggling to get a decent hi hat response with the new 1.3 update. Really having trouble getting it to sound out open hits when doing quick open and closes for accents. Have you got any settings and parameters you could recommend as a starting point? Many thanks
Anyone else finding it sounding a but muddy? I understand his style, it just not coming out as cleanly as it should. I have a yamaha dtx542. upgraded kick and such. If you want true sound.. your not going to get that on any drumset. Nothing compares to shells, and wood. But the point of the electronic drumset is for not havinng true place to play and slight portability.
haha...you have obviously never heard a set of electronic drums hooked into Superior drummer 2.0....do a little research before you start spitting out complete uninformed nonsense in the comment sections buddy....I will never go back to an acoustic set.
I think the set looks cool, but I have to say, personally, bigger is not better for an electronic set. One of the reasons I enjoy my E-drums is the compact size. The size of this Alesis I actually consider a negative. Also, for a comparable price, (and you don't care that it will be a smaller sized set,) look up the Roland TD-25kv on RUclips. The fellow in this video, Dan Recchia, does a review of that set, too. Listen to the sound quality of the TD-25kv for even five seconds. It just blows this Alesis set out of the water, (if sound quality is what is most important to you, which it is to me.)
I'm TROUBLED by how Roland keeps making their Vdrums LARGER AND LARGER. "What drummers want is drums that TAKE UP THE ENTIRE CAR!" I would want the SMALLEST physical footprint possible, if I were a drummer.
Can you not add another tom? i would move the 12'' floor to top rack and add another 14'' floor. All my kits I've owned were that setup fits my play style and looks better also especially this kit.
I like how the toms are different sizes and not like other brands where the tom sizes are all the same.
Yes! "No talking. Only playing." Liked this video
No matter what!! Any set,kit will only sound as good as the drummer!! I like um!!
By far best video on the kit yet! Excellent job and playing!
Now that’s how you make a drum kit demo properly. Ppl love to hear themselves talk when all they gotta do is play! Like this 😎
From now on I'm going to look for music equipment videos that have "no talking" in their titles .GREAT video!! Thank you very much.
finally, an online music store that understands how to make a video.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!

Fully agree with Dan, thanks Kraft (less talk more product!)
I also agree. This is how a product should be introduced :)

These drums actually sound pretty solid. Kicking around the idea of picking up an electric kit just for those odd hours when you get THE ITCH.
Dynamic and varied examples - nice!

great demo and sounds !
ahhh e-drums the definition of creativity with sound on a single kit

law35penn If you think all electronic drum sets sound the same. You shouldn't drum. Your ear is most likely ruined.
Excellent player and good sounding kit
I've tried these, they have an amazing sound! Very easy to play! Setting 72 W Guitar trigger is awesome!
Fuck yeah dude! I bought it mostly cause that. For 1k it was worth mid range pads and that brains pre programming
I like the way these look.

Best review for this kit period !!
Does anyone ever play a beat when playing demos? Or is it standard to just grab sticks and hit shit in a random fashion?
i say the exact same thing every demo i watch and it drives me nuts
Wonderful drumming and a truly impressive kit. It is hilarious how much people like to dump on EVERYTHING nowadays. People are so ridiculously spoiled. Thank you for this impressive demo.
Sounds a lot better from the 15:16 mark .This is why editors & producers get the big bucks.
Thumbs up just for not talking
great sounding - great playing!
Good title, " No talking", just what I need... and what an awesome video!!!!!
That dude from the Hangover is a great drummer!!
To many Roland fan boys trolling yet another Alesis demonstration video. Guess I would be pretty disgruntled if I paid 5k for an ekit with dated sounds, just to see Alesis release a kit with more features and better sounds for half the price.
John Burkhalter I know right!!!!! I just sold my crimson II and bought the Roland 17KVX and I regret it so much bro!
Curious, do you have a newer alesis kit? I had a dm10 years ago and loved some things about it, but it did have some quality issues that ultimately led to me selling the module. I’m back in the market and trying to decide if I want to go alesis again or not.

Roland charges 3 times as much for something that is miles better than this kit
Kit sounds great. Excellent playing!
I would probably use Superior Drummer with this. But if these are the stock sounds, that's really not that bad.
Geez, why are there so many mean comments on this video??
Because there are many toxic people in the drumming community that think they know everything and live to be assholes.
Holy crap this dude's ability to keep playing within the pocket is amazing...
Is that linus tech tips
I like the dupstep sounds
Me too
CNder77 th ey sound great
CNder77 I like how they sound
Finnaly a set worth the money
Ouuuuuu yeahhhh sound on point 😍🥇🥇🥇
Those drums sound so good
I like the high end alesis sounds more than the high end rolands.
Agree!
Where can I find the high end Alesis sounds if they don’t exist yet? Lol 😂
6:42 That's how I feel about this kit... lol!
When you forget about there's a camera on your face
2:38 When You cant blast beat
mantis world oh my. Haha
when you don't even understand what he's playing ... he played offbeat triplets
Looks great, but I'm too terrified to buy it due to the rumours I hear around it's durability. Credit to Alesis for actually outright replacing parts relatively easily, but that shouldn't happen for that kind of money. I've never had trouble with my Roland set.
Don't buy it. It's not worth all the hassle of replacing parts and stuff
Very cool! I love the high hat.
Good electric drumkit for a good price.
nice play & drum set
I never get why the kick drum in many of these kits sounds so "clicky". I've yet to hear an acoustic kick drum - mic'd or not - that "clicked".
Kick drums should go "thud" about 60Hz, and leave a mark in your chest. Roll off those high frequencies. Thank you for your time.
Nice sound for an electronic kit.
the cymbals are eehhh ...still haven't got there as far as the high hats ..but that goes for just about all of these Electronic kits IMO.
For the money, this is an excellent option. The response is pretty great on these.
Very beautiful drums. So gorgeous deep red and black... Super. Also nice performances. Like it!
I love drumming but my god the drumming community is so toxic. Just grow the hell up these commenters think they know everything and are so full of themselves...

Sounds like a popcorn machine hahah, just go and watch the derek roddy alesis comercial hahah
popcorn machine - that's hilarious haha
Very nice demo, thx for posting.
So how loud are the pads to outsiders when the unit is being played? Meaning I want this kit for low volume practice but if it's pads are loud I would have to think about it. Would you post a vid with how it sounds either when it's off or how it sounds to others when you have headphones in?
LeBarron Durant the pads are bout vol level 5-10 not that loud btw I’m actually getting that
I'm used to the acoustic drum set sound...
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Same here, electric is just not the same.
The church I went to upgraded to these from some Rolands and these things are excellent..... Definitely an improvement.
8:15 ... I was expecting Snake Plissken to walk in any second.
Heard some Will Kennedy in there at 6:15....nice
I'm into drumming myself just wanna check various styles guys, thank you Alesis Strike Pro.
more videos like this... "no talking" thx
Wow! That looks fun!

Yea. It comes with longer horizontal and vertical bars.
This guy is sshhhrrrrredding, and it's awesome.
2 questions; Can you "throw the snares off" on all the kits and does it do cross sticking?
I noticed you get a choke control on cymbal #2. How so? Nice presentation.
Which brand has the best professional electronic drum kit? Roland, Alesis or Yamaha? And which kit is this?
Fabio G it litterally says in the title
@@nnorway21 if you want the best one than I recommend loading superior drummer on to this bad boy
Roland
Use a VST software if you don't like stock module sounds. Hell even Roland td-50 sounds awful.

it's insane, I've never see good drummer for Roland & Alesis demo lol. Petrucci make add for Musicman. but drums ???
If I got this kit for free I might like it
HOW?!
Lol yup youre right
Can you guys give me some other kit ideas that have a realistic feel of an acoustic like same size of snare, toms, cymbals... just things like that. Thanks!

Yes, an acoustic kit!
Dude's got a death grip on those sticks.
Are there any selection to change the drums like on Yamaha
I have this one in my Ebay, drooling everytime I look at it. I wish I could buy it for $50.00 bucks a month, I guess I have to kill off some of these other bills, lolol.
If only they weren't $2,299
what if someone put actual acoustic drum heads on the kit
The_E_Whiteman good question. I'll ask when mine comes tomorrow
Tried this on my e-kit. with real acoustic heads, they sound really loud. its basically like having a drum with a shallow, plastic shell.
I heard about 4 kits I loved, cool feature to be able to customize your own kits- Nothing new to Electronic drums, my only gripe is no Aux outputs to add more crashes or one more tom, or did I miss something?

It’s $2000 and it’s totally worth it,
Also can I get the settings that you have on the kit please?
That first kick drum was the most lifeless sound ive ever heard, literally like hitting a stick against a rock
StickHits yeah I don’t like it either.
Pretty good drumming, I wonder how it would sound on something that actually sounded like a drum set.
Dave Fitzgerald I would lol
I think these kits sound better than the TD50
you would be correct sir! the old alesis dm 10 has better sounds than the td 50 too.
Many thanks
daemike seems like this guy has the same issue. Never heard a true open hat sound this full video.
Can you tell me the settimgs pls mines doesnt sound as good
I think the set looks cool, but I have to say, personally, bigger is not better for an electronic set.
Huntington1234567 two versions choose your poison... however either configuration would be much less foot print to it's acoustic variant
I'm TROUBLED by how Roland keeps making their Vdrums LARGER AND LARGER.
"What drummers want is drums that TAKE UP THE ENTIRE CAR!"
I would want the SMALLEST physical footprint possible, if I were a drummer.
2:05 wtf.
hahahahahaha
Can you not add another tom? i would move the 12'' floor to top rack and add another 14'' floor. All my kits I've owned were that setup fits my play style and looks better also especially this kit.
