Yup, I just discovered this channel and saw he had done Good Will Hunting (my favorite movie of all time). I told myself if he did a good job I would subscribe. I subscribed right after the "do you like apples?" part. I didn't even need to get to the really good parts.
And can we remember that Matt & Ben WROTE THIS MOVIE!!!! As they were beginning their careers! They both played their parts PERFECTLY & even added Ben's lil brother Casey into the cast. Robin was the heart of the movie & it couldn't be more perfect❤
Damon and Affleck wrote the initial script, which was then developed into the final screenplay through a collaborative process that also included input from the director and Miramax executives, as well as advice and guidance from noted screenwriter William Goldman.
@@thewonkyembouchure Yeah, what Matt and Ben wrote and sold was a pretty weak spy thriller about the US government hunting down a math prodigy, presumably to capture him and force him to do cryptography. The final script is a completely different movie, after all the rewrites, once they got Malick and Goldman involved.
Right before the pandemic hit, I had to quit my job to take care of my disabled brother and grandmother. I don’t go out because I can’t leave them alone. I started watching reaction channels because it was a way to connect with people. Seeing someone’s emotions, hearing their stories, it makes me feel like I’m not alone. Please don’t apologize for sharing and please don’t stop sharing. It’s human and it’s beautiful!! ❤

I love that the Internet can help us connect one heart to the other. I’ll keep sharing. You’re awesome🧡
Thank you for mentioning to "check up on your happy friends". I am a behavioral health professional. One of the most common symptoms that a person will soon attempt s*icide, is a sudden, noticeable, and drastic change in attitude, affect, sociability, rate of speech and movement, and levels of anxiety from slow, isolated, "empty" or "blank" and anxious, to faster, more talkative and outgoing, less anxious, more cheerful, and more active. They may start giving things away as "gifts". They might clean their houses from top to bottom. These are all signs that we should NOT be applauding, but instead be on very high alert, because this person has made preparations and is relieved that they will soon no longer have to suffer. Growth happens slowly and painfully. If it's too fast and too drastic, your friend or family member is likely in serious danger.
@@FrankFreezy_ not a problem. Loved your commentary. You (as well as the people you choose to have in your life) seem to have a great ability for introspection, you're humble and open with the people you love, and you're extremely perceptive when it comes to the experiences and feelings of others. It sounds to me like your relationship is going to turn out extremely well. ❤️
During the scene when Robin's character is talking about his wife's farts, a bunch of that was ad libbed. Matt Damon's laughter was genuine. You can even see the camera shaking because the camera operator was trying to hold back laughter.
Part of the story is based on a real life of George Dantzig. He came to class late one day and assumed the 2 problems on the board were the homework assignment. He solved both problems (noting that they were pretty challenging). His professor was dumbfounded. George had just solved 2 of the most famous unsolved problems in Statistics. So, in this case, the reality is even more amazing than the movie - the problems in the movie were not "unsolved by anyone" they were simply difficult.
The best part of this film is the relationships. They are crafted so lovingly. Will and Sean and the way they help each other through their trauma. Will and Skylar and the silly little scenes (like the first kiss) that sound on paper like they'd never work, but when watched feel so personal and intimate. It builds the relationship so much faster when you see them doing the weird shit you remember doing with your significant other 16 years ago. But not just that but Sean and Gerald, Will and his friends. The character building is immaculate. The other great point is there is no villain. Most films would have the problem be mathematical. Will overcomes his demons with Sean's help. Proves the mean professor wrong and breaks the equation and wins the girl as reward. In this film everyone just wants what's best for Will. As misguided as Gerald is he ultimately isn't looking for vicarious success through him. He just wants to help Will be more than Gerald can be. The villain ultimately is Will himself. The low is Will trying to push all of the help away. The triumph is Will not winning the girl but taking the risk in trying to win the girl. That there is why this film is perfect. No cartoonish evil. No calamitous event. Just a real person interacting with real people
I do think the villain is (are) the people who abused Will and one of the triumphs is his *accepting* that all of that wasn't his fault and he can overcome the scars. But you're absolutely right about all the other triumphs and how human everyone is.
I like how Matt’s, Ben’s and Casey’s career all took different directions even the dude that plays rip in Yellowstone he was born to play a cowboy I’m glad he finally found his perfect role
Wonderful reaction. This movie will always be one of my absolute favorites. I’m a therapist and Robin was just so very amazing, and earned every bit of the Oscar that he received for this. Being a therapist is hard work, but it’s very rewarding to help people learn how to heal themselves. Matt and Ben had such a great grasp of this, at such young ages. This movie is as close to perfect for me as it gets!
Thank you thank you. I hope you're taking good care of yourself. It is very hard work indeed. I couldn't even imagine. Absolutely, I didn't see anything wrong with this movie at all. Everything had me smile and ear to ear
He even imporovised alot of his other lines, including the monolog in the park! This story was written by Damon and Affleck, it was their first ever script/movie! They were extremely happy when Williams got onboard, for obvious reasons! 🥰
In a RUclips full of movie reactors, you are a breath of fresh air.with your genuine and on point insights. As a licenced therapist you seem to have a natural ability to understand the type of things this movie is about. Also just to let you know the park in the movie is Boston Public Garden which is adjacent to Boston Common. It's especially beautiful mid to late April when the cherry blossoms bloom. You can ride on the famous swan boats on the lake which have been around for almost 150 years. I have spent a lot of time sitting in the area where the scene was shot.
Thank you for these kind words. I am receiving them. Thanks for sharing about the park. It seems so beautiful in the movie, I Can Only Imagine the look and feel in person. Thanks for watching 💗
Such a good movie with the always wonderful Robin Williams (RIP), and received much deserved Oscars for Original Screen Play, and Best Supporting Actor.

Your commentary on this, talking about you and your wife's relationship and analyzing the movie, was just as beautiful as the film. Truly my favorite reaction I've seen to this movie. Thanks for a great one, my friend. I'm so glad you liked it as much as I do.
This film started a filming renaissance in Massachusetts. It put Damon and Affleck on the map. It made the Boston Accent cool. It’s amazing screenplay (both with dialogue and story telling), paired with great direction, and arguably Robin Williams’ (God rest his soul) best acting performances of his career, makes an amazing film. This movie is amongst my top 5 favorite of all time. I can’t even begin to describe how REAL this movie feels, I’ve never seen “actors acting”. I’ve always seen this as a REAL thing that film makers just happen to record. The colors, setting, themes, score, cinematography, acting. It was all perfectly thought out, I may dig too deep within this film but there’s so much more than a surface level smart guy therapy movie if you really look. Robin F****** Williams. Rest in peace. His role in this film is unmatched. I cry almost every time he’s on screen talking about his wife in any scene.

About to watch this right now and I can't wait to see what you think about it. It's a fantastic film. Hope you're doing well dude!

Ben & Matt's writing was masterful. GWH received nominations in nine categories, including Best Picture and Best Director, and won in two: Best Supporting Actor for Williams and Best Original Screenplay for Affleck and Damon 👏
❤😭🤯That's one of my all-time faves.Robin Williams was one of the best ever! They must've done a lot of the shooting in Boston. I've lived here all my life & everything about it was so realistic
My 1st time watching you react, Outstanding comes to mind. Sharing your life during the movie was powerful, connecting with us is part of the reaction. Love it.
Watching movies with you is like watching a movie with a wonderful new young friend. Much respect and I say love to you from an old great grandma in Alaska.
26:42 Robin Williams improvised half of it. The used to have one of those script to screen videos for this scene up here on RUclips. He took the beautiful writing they had on the page and just ran with it. Made it his own.
Robin Williams was always a favorite of mine. I love him in this, Hook, Dead poets society, Mrs Doubtfire, Patch Adams, The birdcage and so many more gems. 💜
I am not sure if this gets through..but this is the singlest best reaction I have seen to this video. I absolutely love your calm and reflected demenour mate..Keep up the great work
What a classic. The park bench scene & that final break through scene get me every time. Welcome to Robin Williams. He is tremendously missed, but we are so blessed to have his movies, his art that he put so much of himself in. I think everyone’s recommending their favorite Rob Williams films, but just to name my own favorites: Dead Poets Society, What Dreams May Come, Patch Adams. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything he’s been in.
Chuckie is my favorite "movie friend". A lot of people would've written him as this dumb, obnoxious guy who means well but unknowingly holds Will back. In this movie, he pushes Will to make a good life for himself and to not waste his potential even if it means moving away from them. That's a true friend.
To me, the story is about Will, a young man that was abandoned and abused and never learned how to love. A man that needed a father. Sean was counterpart, a man that fell in love, got married and tragedy struck before he could become a father. Through the therapy sessions, they both realized they could learn from each other and in the end they became father and son. Oh, and that final drive, that is I-90, the MassPike. It is an amazingly beautiful drive west of Springfield to the border with NY. A perfect way to end the movie.
"Moonlight" is a very different story to "Good Will Hunting" but with the same character growth with no real "villain" but the self and the relationships that the main character is influenced by. Great movie to watch next.
Robin William's speech in the park is undeniably great, but it was the scene where Ben Affleck tells Matt Damon about the best part of his day that made me tear up.
My heart is with you. This movie is definitely a tough one. I'm surprised I didn't cry while watching this movie. I think I was just more excited and impressed by how good to the story was
@@FrankFreezy_ thank you so much for responding to me!! I didn’t expect that and it means a lot! You may not have cried, but you still loved it and it had an impact on you. Hi! Actually Matt and Ben won the Oscar for best original screenplay for this movie. The clip when they won is so cool and Robin Williams was so proud of them. Also Robin Williams won the Oscar for best supporting actor. Great movie.
It's not real difficult for us. LOTS us love watching movies with you, and so you don't have to applaud us much. You're just honest, sharing and caring, vulnerable, thankful, humble and appreciative. We know the movie!! At least most of us and so it's easy coming back.😊

Talk about beginners luck with Ben & Matt. They wrote it & starred in it. Filmed in Boston. I've lived in Massachusetts my whole life, seeing so many places I've been including the bar they hung out at. The L Street Tavern, so many great times there. The Swan Boats, the streets of Southie, Boston Common, Cambridge, the community college.....so awesome! I think this was the best thing Matt Damon & Ben Affleck ever did ❤
Awesome vid bro. Love your channel. You don't just react, you analyze. Going through some hard times and your vids help me get away for a while . This is one of my favorites. Elliot Smith did the soundtrack who is also one of my favs . Rip
Hey man just for you to know, I think you are awesome and have some especial kind of flavor of positivity and wisdom that really resonated with me, keep cool and strong man, I’m sending some love energy from Brazil for you my guy.🤝
This movie never gets old to me because it is such a sort of timeless message, especially for the time it came out. There is a reason Matt and Ben won an Oscar for that screenplay and it is wild to me that they wrote that at such a young age. An excellent and thoughtful reaction. I wish more folks, especially other men, would get your level; being able to communicate and experience these types of stories can be very healing for those hurts we have experienced. Man or woman its all good lessons that make us better people and that make living through these somewhat overwhelming times far less trying.
"Son of a bitch he stole my line" was Robin adlibbing. Same with the fart story - Matt's laughs were genuine because it was Robin going off script in perfect character. Good stuff
Ha... that's the best sponsor to a video I've ever seen, my guy! Brilliant Franky mate! Great reaction man! I obviously love the relationship with him and his therapist but for me... The relationship with his friends is so unsaid, so loyal, fun and strong no matter what! What a script by the two lads Affleck and Damon! They deserved the Oscar for this!
The argument at the end right before Will walks in is actually pretty nuanced. Both men are fighting for Will's potential, but potential in different things. I understand both sides.
I like that when Will said that he would like to keep in touch, Sean said that if he calls, he would call him right back. I just think that, in a way, Sean is sort of acting like a surrogate father because Will never had a real, healthy parental relationship. When you are young and venturing out in the world on our own, you kind of leave for a little while and come back and the next time you go for a little longer and so on until you feel like you can stand on your own and Sean understood that.
13:41 it's true that there was more stigma surrounding therapy in the early 90s, especially for men. For most people even just the idea of it was associated with either something only legit crazy people needed, or it was mocked as a kind of self-centred indulgence for pretentious rich people. In this film however, it's more about the former not the latter. You'll notice it's not only Will himself who looks down on therapy from a position of boyish masculine bravado. Even when the professor brings it up the first time when he offers Will a way out of jail, he smirks and lets out a knowing chuckle at the mere mention of the word "therapy". It's a really great subtle moment this film uses to show us how much the idea of therapy was an in-joke among men in those days.
🔥🔥🔥 FYI,, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck wrote the screenplay for this movie, and, they received the Oscar for best original screenplay quite an accomplishment for two young kids from Boston, and their first screenplay
45:30 Will also can't leave because he's still under a court order to visit Sean, and finish their term off, which he also hasn't told her about. He doesn't want to jet off to CA not just because all his life and friends are in Southie, but he also doesn't want to skip town and move to California with a Bench Warrant on his back for the Cop Assault. But again, he's told her nothing of this, so it adds to his stakes.

He’s awesome. I will add some of these to my list.
What an incredible reactor/soul you are. Thank you for your work on this gem.
Sub and big hug from Mexico. Cheers!
Appreciate that boss. Sending the love back your way ❤️
I am not sure if this gets through..but this is the singlest best reaction I have seen to this video. I absolutely love your calm and reflected demenour mate..Keep up the great work
Much respect to you. I appreciate that🙏🏾🙏🏾🧡🧡
What a classic.
I love your perspective on both of them and why they needed each other
Thanks!
Thank you for your generosity❤️
Wonderful reaction. I'm subscribed.
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watchin 🥇💜
"Moonlight" is a very different story to "Good Will Hunting" but with the same character growth with no real "villain" but the self and the relationships that the main character is influenced by. Great movie to watch next.
Great reaction 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. This movie is in my top ten all time.
Thank you🥳🥳 It's definitely up there in mine as well. See you on the next one
Robin William's speech in the park is undeniably great, but it was the scene where Ben Affleck tells Matt Damon about the best part of his day that made me tear up.
ouuuu yes! I hear you. That was powerful. And that moment I felt how much he loved Matt I wanted the best for him
Whoever deserves the support gets it. And you definitely deserve a lot of support.
I was in that park in Boston last year and there's a plaque on that bench commemorating this scene.
This reaction made me cry. I forgot how hard this movie hits.
I’m very sentimental and emotional and so many things about this movie just capture bittersweet and nostalgic feelings for me. Robin Williams is an amazing actor.
Beautiful job man. One of my favorite movies and you did it justice. Warm, personal, empathetic and intelligent review. Followed
At least most of us and so it's easy coming back.😊
My boy's wicked sma'at

I appreciate that! You’re awesome🙏🏾💜
Love the way he deals with Clark in the bar.🤣 You might want to watch 'Glory'.First time I ever saw Denzel Washington. It's about the first black regiment in the American civil war.A surprising turn from Matthew Broderick.Morgan Freeman also stars,so you can't go wrong.

love his artwork.
scratch my last comment. like his artwork and like his channel. sorry frankfreezy.
Excellent commentary
Thank you kindly
Written by Matt Damon & Ben Affleck. Won the Oscar for best screen play
I think this was the best thing Matt Damon & Ben Affleck ever did ❤
This might be the best dialogues Ive ever seen
🎉
You said it... check up on your happy friends. indeed! This movie is brilliant! Can't believe they wrote this at such a young age. AMAZING!
Absolutely. That's the craziest part. They were so young
I'm in my 70s, so I've seen a full life portion of movies, and this one floats around in my top 5 of all time. I was sure you would love it! ♥
Awesome vid bro. Love your channel. You don't just react, you analyze. Going through some hard times and your vids help me get away for a while . This is one of my favorites. Elliot Smith did the soundtrack who is also one of my favs . Rip
I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend. I’m sorry to hear about that. I’m sending you good energy and good vibes 🙏🏾🧡
@@FrankFreezy_ thanks bro meant a lot💜
Hey man just for you to know, I think you are awesome and have some especial kind of flavor of positivity and wisdom that really resonated with me, keep cool and strong man, I’m sending some love energy from Brazil for you my guy.🤝
Thanks for saying that. I can feel the same vibe from you as well🙏🏾🧡 much love fam
Ooof you talking about it not being his fault during the argument with Skylar scene ! You were right on track for that emotional ending
This is a great film. A real roller coaster ride. I appreciate that you put yourself out there on some films that evoke heavy emotions.
A great film indeed. And thanks for saying that. I enjoy it a lot. Always learn so much from the films and also the comment section
I am really glad to come upon this reaction. I must say it was a very sensitive and intelligent reaction which really added to this movie. Wonderful.
Much love. Thank you
Woah! Had no idea you made those paintings behind you (i'm new, hi! 👋🏽😅) Amazing talent! 🙌🏽
Oh yeah, those paintings are my babies. Thank you for appreciating them. And welcome to the channel😄✌🏾🧡
"Whoever wrote that...." Matt Damon and Ben Affleck wrote the screenplay. They won an Oscar for it.
Robin Williams is such a genius! I love this movie! It's so perfect!
Thanks for the reaction ❤we almost made you cry. 😂
Thanks for watching. Almost, y’all came pretty close😂🧡❤️
Love this movie freezy!!!
This is an excellent reaction video.
Much love thank you
Just echoing what everyone else here is saying - genuine, insightful, heartfelt reactions. Knew this one would be right up your street. Keep it up. :)
Enjoyed this. You're a cool dude! I adore this film too. One of the few I return to.
Patch Adams is my favorite Robyn Williams movie it's also a true story it's very very good and mostly funny as hell
It’s not your fault is such a healing scene. This was a beautiful reaction 😊
Such a beautiful scene. I bet that scene healed a lot of people and real life🧡🧡 Thank you so much
@@FrankFreezy_ 🥰
beautiful reaction. liked and subbed. much love and looking forward to seeing your existing and future content
Great movie and great reaction! Robin Williams will be forever missed. The world's richer because we had him in it for a while.
I loved this reaction!! You made my night! Thank you for sharing. :)
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching💜🧡
“What do you tell a man who knows everything?” That was a bar! Love your channel!
You should check out Dead Poets Society. Robin Williams was wonderful, great movie.
One of my favorite Robin Williams performances
It’s the only one I’ve seen but I still agree🙏🏾
45:30 Will also can't leave because he's still under a court order to visit Sean, and finish their term off, which he also hasn't told her about. He doesn't want to jet off to CA not just because all his life and friends are in Southie, but he also doesn't want to skip town and move to California with a Bench Warrant on his back for the Cop Assault. But again, he's told her nothing of this, so it adds to his stakes.
Wow, thanks man. That was the most interesting and engaging movie reaction I’ve ever watched. I love how real you are. Hope you have a great week.
