  • This red lentil soup is the most famous soup in Turkey! It's vegetarian, healthy and has a lot of protein and dietary fiber, thanks to the lentils.
    It's also great during hot summer days: just sprinkle some refreshing lemon juice and enjoy your Turkish lentil soup! If you would like more rich and smokey flavors, top it up with some paprika-butter sauce, too.
    What else could you possible want? Give it a try and enjoy!
    LIST OF INGREDIENTS
    For the soup:
    - red lentils [200 g / 7 oz]
    - extra virgin olive oil [15 ml / 1 tablespoon]
    - onion [1 medium size]
    - ground cumin [1 teaspoon]
    - ground turmeric [half teaspoon]
    - tomato paste [2 teaspoons]
    - hot water [1 liter/quart]
    - 2 small bay leaves
    - 1 teaspoon salt
    For the sauce:
    - unsalted butter or extra virgin olive oil [2 tablespoons]
    - paprika powder [1 teaspoon]
    Servings: 4
    Energy without butter-sauce:
    Around 217kcal, with 4g of fat, 32g of carbs and 13g of protein per serving.
    Energy with butter-sauce 🙂:
    Around 268kcal, with 10g of fat, 32g of carbs and 13g of protein per serving.

    Cant wait to try this! I've been looking for a high carb/low fat dish to supplement my high protein meals that's not just plain rice lol :D

      Enjoy! Definitely sprinkle some lemon juice on top. And unless you'd like some heat, I suggest you opt for non-spicy smoked paprika for the butter sauce🔥🔥🔥
