The clone concept of not knowing who the original is, is a key aspect of some bad guys called the Mauler Twins in the Invincible comicbook series and it’s actually so interesting that Karl thought about that dilemma, I like Ricky Gervais at times but he really doesn’t give Karl enough credit for being intelligent in his own way

What he is trying to say about jellyfish and octopi is that they appear, move and act alien compared to most other living species, which is true. The Clive Warren idea was part of S04 E06 Black Museum in the Black Mirror series. When he tried to "see" his toe without using his eyes he was trying to do a type of meditation. I also understand his questions regarding our consciousness and the awareness of our own existence. The way he expresses it though is utterly hilarious and no one in the world takes the mick out of someone like Ricky Gervais. And Stephen Merchant really increases the overall average height of the show.

Can't believe Karl predicted living with yourself the Paul Rudd netflix show

The last point is quite a genuine stance in philosophy. I mean both you and your clone will claim to have experienced your past, but only one was physically there. If the clone were physically identical, there would be no way to distinguish the original!

That last one wasn't dumb. Karl had just watched The 6th Day.

Everyone in the comments is saying karl is a genius askinghow would he know if he was the clone, but that's not at all what he asked he asked "how'd I know which one is me?" Which is implying karl meets his clone and then goes 3rd person.

that last bit is where Paul Rudd got the idea for Living With Yourself

realistically the clone would know they are the clone, and you would know you are the original, because only one of you would have the memory of getting out of the cloning pod or walking out of the cloning facility etc

Tbh I have to agree with Karl on the Clone one. If you were put to sleep at a random Time, cloned and you then you walked out of the 'cloning facility'. Because you and the clone are exactly the same person. You wouldn't know which one you were. Are you the original? The one who was cloned or are you the clone? Neither would know the truth because they are thinking the exact same thing.

That totally makes sense, actually. If one of the versions of you is fake but has all the same memories, you wouldn’t be able to tell if you were the original or the copy.

Karl is 100% correct on the clone dilemma. If the clone was created with the exact same memories, you’d have no way of knowing if you were the original or the clone. It’s actually very insightful.

The last one wasn't dumb at all. If the clone has the exact same memories as you, it wouldn't be obvious at all which one is the clone.

The clone dilemma has many versions. Blade Runner, BNHA's Double, even Naruto's clone jutsu can be considered in this discussion, and each one works in an individual manner to its environment.
