The Golf Swing is SO MUCH EASIER with this ROPE Trick

  • How can you learn to swing a golf club without having to think about too many things?
I woke up to this in my inbox:
"That was the most amazing golf lesson - exactly what I needed. You mention all the time that we should keep the golf swing simple but I never really believed it fully...you have no idea the impact this golf lesson has had on my game. I'm so grateful for you and your time!!"
    Whoa! how nice is that...
I absolutely love helping golfers find their golf swings. Getting feedback that they are finding the game so much easier and having much more fun on the golf course is why I do what I do. You see over the years the golf swing has been chopped up and dissected into so many pieces it can sometime feel like it will take forever to learn.
But don't believe that. This is the old school way.
The new school way is to learn your swing. We are all built differently, different shapes and sizes, different levels of strength and flexibility. Should we all swing it the same way?
Take a look at the the hottest golfers in the world right now. Colin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson, Victor Hofland. They have chosen to adopt the new school way. They have chosen to find a golf swing that works for them rather than fit into a model that someone has designed.
In this weeks golf lesson I give you an amazing golf drill that will truly help you strike the golf ball so much better, hit driver straight...but more importantly it won't require you to remember a check list of to do's before every shot. If you have questions like How do I hit a golf ball with an Iron? How can I learn to strike my irons pure every time? How do I stop hitting the ground behind the golf ball? How to hit driver straight?

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On RUclips and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumbleI’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

The rope drill has really improved my ball striking. Do you have a recommendation for the length of rope to use? Edit...I found in the comments below that you suggested about a meter, but you're using at least 5 feet in your video. I'll just go with 5 feet...I can always choke up or cut it off!

I’ve struggled getting proper hip rotation which lets my arms get in front of me, especially with driver. I filmed myself down-the-line with a rope and was amazed at the difference. I was seeing both “cheeks” at impact position. Switching back to driver I was somewhere in between, so there’s some work to do still, but already a huge improvement in the feel. Pretending my club was the rope smoothed out my transition. Not bad for a $10 training aid, thanks Danny!

Thank you for this very simple, very effective thought pattern to focus on before taking the club back. With all the noise and complex drills out there, this is one essential cue I will use before and during every swing. Danny thank you for working so hard at breaking down each lesson/ guide into a video that adds value to my game.

I watched this video this morning along with the more recent one you did which was a lesson! OMG, wow!.. I so wished I realised this years ago.. I now know I was paralysed a bit by mechanics.. I've just been to the driving range and can't believe how much easier this is to think about.. I can't believe thinking about it in this way got my body so much more involved, I'm not used to this much body movement, it was a very liberating range session.. Thanks very much!!

I'm about a 10 hcp. I was a bit skeptical, but I tried this starting a little over a week ago. Made my rope the length of my 5-iron. Swung one or two sessions a day for 10 swings and made video of myself during the swing. Last Saturday I shot a 4 over 76 - that's no mulligans, no freebies, and every putt in the jar. I haven't hit so many pure irons in a long time. I didn't mishit one iron shot all day. Body movement is improved but mostly what I think improved is my overall tempo. The rope makes you wait at the top before starting the downswing because you wait for it to wrap around you and land between your shoulders. I've been golfing for 30 years and never heard of this drill. Top tip!!!!

Once again, great information and concept. You probably know about the “swing training pro”, How often do we take lessons and are told about P1 or see lines drawn for positions and club locations. Hard to get one’s body and mind on the same page with static concepts and fixed positions that are posed. Great!

Hi Danny-I have learned a great deal from you and my handicap has dropped from a 25 to a 16 thanks to you. One area that still causes me problems is hitting a 9 iron to the green "fat" after a great drive! I remember reviewing one of your videos several months ago that helped at the time...it was the one that stressed thinking of the "club head" as the end of a pendulum swing. Where can I view that video again? Finally, it appears that my "fat shot" problem is cause by my hips falling down due to the centrifugal force in the down swing. I have never heard you talk about "sitting on a stool" to lock your hips during the swing. Do you not consider this to be a major cause of "fat shots"? Thanks for all you do...you are a very exceptional and pasionate golf instructor :) "Dr. Frank"

Kudos on your massive improvement. I read your comments, and in terms of hitting it "fat", many times it's the result of getting stuck on your right side (no weight transfer to the left).

Hi Danny. Interesting drill and I'll give it a try. My only concern is that when you use the rope your lead elbow bends quite a lot at the top of the swing. Is there not a risk this will translate into the golf swing?

      @DanielMaude  2 года назад

The weight of the club will prevent this
