Danny, I have watched many of your RUclips lessons many times. Some specific lessons dozens of times. I relate to your lessons better than any instructor online or in person. I'm hoping to get an on line lesson with you soon. Thank you very much, Wayne Borelli
This has to be THE go-to lesson EVERY time your swing goes off, absolutely simple and absolutely brilliant. Thank you, that's my winter indoor swinging practice sorted!
Thank you for this very simple, very effective thought pattern to focus on before taking the club back. With all the noise and complex drills out there, this is one essential cue I will use before and during every swing. Danny thank you for working so hard at breaking down each lesson/ guide into a video that adds value to my game.
I’ve struggled getting proper hip rotation which lets my arms get in front of me, especially with driver. I filmed myself down-the-line with a rope and was amazed at the difference. I was seeing both “cheeks” at impact position. Switching back to driver I was somewhere in between, so there’s some work to do still, but already a huge improvement in the feel. Pretending my club was the rope smoothed out my transition. Not bad for a $10 training aid, thanks Danny!
When it comes to golf instruction Mr. Maude, you Good Sir are a f-ing genius. All of your lessons are simple, yet transforming. This rope tip will transform anybody's golf game. I bet Professional Golfers the world over are squirming now that you have shown the world the secret to an incredible and consistent golf swing. Good for you.
Hi Danny. It never ceases to amaze me how you can translate from Pro to hacker, the back to Pro, amazing!! Obviously a ton of natural talent. Love your videos, especially how you release different videos to work on the same problem, because sometimes I just don't get it with the first, but it clicks in with another! THANK YOU. Please let us all know if you ever decide to play a tournament in Sydney.
Danny, I’ve been coaching in Australia for more than 45 years, and this is the simplest and most effective way of feeling a body lead swing I’ve ever heard. Sensational!
Brilliant, Danny have you done a video on weight distribution on the feet, 50/ 50 or 70 on trail foot 30 on lead at address , moving weight between backswing and downswing. I've been struggling. Thanks
I watched this video this morning along with the more recent one you did which was a lesson! OMG, wow!.. I so wished I realised this years ago.. I now know I was paralysed a bit by mechanics.. I've just been to the driving range and can't believe how much easier this is to think about.. I can't believe thinking about it in this way got my body so much more involved, I'm not used to this much body movement, it was a very liberating range session.. Thanks very much!!
Make sense, the feeling of swinging a rope loosen up all the tensions in your muscles & grip resulting in an effortless body swing, will adopt this feeling when playing at the course. 👍
A very good drill. Other You Tube instructors are selling $100 training aids while you’re saying go buy a piece of rope. That’s why you’re the best, Danny. Thanks!
I have always had issues with body rotation from a static position....this really helps creating the necessary momentum to get in sync and create a fluid backswing
Thanks Danny, watched the video 2 hrs before going to play, the round wasn't going great so I switched to this using the thought of having no feeling in my arms and hands, ended up having a half tidy back 9, finally a swing where I don't have to think about too much, "excellent"
The rope drill has really improved my ball striking. Do you have a recommendation for the length of rope to use? Edit...I found in the comments below that you suggested about a meter, but you're using at least 5 feet in your video. I'll just go with 5 feet...I can always choke up or cut it off!
Brilliant demonstration again Danny. I remember many years ago David Leadbetter saying it's the dog wagging the tail and not the tail wagging the dog!! Thanks as always.
Danny you are an F@%!^n genius! This one tip has given me the feel and visual of what I need to do in order to get a more consistent and impactful golf swing. I’ve been playing golf for 20+ years and this video has finally lit the bulb! Putting this into practice has increased both my smash factor and consistency. Plus the swing feels more natural. Thank you brother!
Danny. Been doing this in the hotel room and managed to get a quick nine in on the hotel course. It is really reenforcing the feeling of properly using and turn the body. I am an arse for getting lazy and using arms/ not turning back properly then staying on right side through impact. This is really helping. Fantastic tip and practical aid.
I like how you move away from the whole “putting the club in positions”. It’s too difficult to think about positions in 2 seconds of a swing. This is a great tip thanks Danny!
You are without a doubt one of THE best golf instructors on the planet. You have helped me, at 68, be a better golfer and have fun with this humbling/rewarding game. Cheers. 🏌🏻👏🏻👋🏻👍🏼
This a great idea Danny! Much appreciated. I’ve been working on other drills you’ve made videos about and I can feel my swing/ball striking getting better every time I hit the course. 👍🏻
another great training video. one simple aid that covers the entire mechanics of the take away and down swing. i would think most average golfers would benefit from this one
Just watched it again, as I usually do. This will help loads. Backswing is generally ok but my downswing is a mess. Thanks, I’m taking this to Egypt to use in the hotel when not working
Thanks Danny...have been using your guidance to build up a swing as my sons grows into the sport and we golf together...this new rope training finally gave me a an inside out swing and a bottom up body supported swing...such a good "feel".
tried this and felt it immediately.. New to golf and struggling to understand the timing and rhythm. This turned a light bulb on in my head! thank you!
I'm about a 10 hcp. I was a bit skeptical, but I tried this starting a little over a week ago. Made my rope the length of my 5-iron. Swung one or two sessions a day for 10 swings and made video of myself during the swing. Last Saturday I shot a 4 over 76 - that's no mulligans, no freebies, and every putt in the jar. I haven't hit so many pure irons in a long time. I didn't mishit one iron shot all day. Body movement is improved but mostly what I think improved is my overall tempo. The rope makes you wait at the top before starting the downswing because you wait for it to wrap around you and land between your shoulders. I've been golfing for 30 years and never heard of this drill. Top tip!!!!
Very timely Danny. I don't know how these issues creep in from one round to the next but this gets me back on track. Thanks again for another excellent lesson!
Thank you for everything you do Danny! Thanks to you, I have learned more about the golf swing in the last few years than I learned in the 50+ of my life. Question: Doesn't the Orange Whip accomplish basically the same thing?
I never liked the term effortless.. I always preferred efficient. I've never came across a effortless golf swing(somehow generating those kind of club head speeds is the antithesis of effortless) but I witnessed many efficient golf swings. As always Danny, wonderful drill and video.
Danny another great drill, using the rope drill in my kitchen over the winter. My wife keeps asking what is that hitting the ceiling lol…you make it so simple, your weekly lessons has improved my game with my boys immensely, thank you!
Great lesson about getting the body to lead. I plan on getting this in as part of the regular routine as winter will soon limit time on the course itself.
As always a great and simple instruction to enhance the feel of the golf swing Danny - my greatest challenge remains moving the head upwards when attempting to use the ground to generate that ‘pushing away’ feeling with body - any tips/drill to avoid head movement (early extension?) would be much appreciated?
I have the same issue - I don't seem able to control my head on the backswing, it just moves diagonally upwards along with the club. And sorry I didn't understand "extend upwards through the ball". Can anyone help me?
Danny, sorry to be late to the party on this video: just saw this and went into the garden and hit a practise ball (the one with the holes in them) outside of our garden! Immediate result!! Awesome video!
This is even better then tempo trainer aid because if you are little off with the rope you will see it and feel it, so you can train yourself to really nail the movement. Good job Danny :)
I've seen this rope trick all over the place, starting with Dr Kwon but I found you provided the most succinct explanation on what it does and how to use it.
Always very instructive video's; with great eye for details, even on the human side with a small remark in between a swing like "if y're stuck inside"👍. Stay safe folks!
WOW ! Thanks 4 this reminder! Consistency! What a wonderful concept! LOL! Hopefully I can take it from the RANGE 2 my course this week ! LOL! Thanks Again!
Awesome video! Thanks for your help. I made my own rope today and I practice with it and I can really feel a new body lead developing. Keep up the good work! 😊

Just started the winter shut down here in Canada, what a perfect little way to enhance my swing mechanics through this long period of nothingness.. Thanks Danny. I’ll add this into my winter drill routine.
A eureka moment for someone who has struggled to convince my subconscious that it's the body that drives the swing. Thank you. Danny. My coach got me started on this drill after Christmas with huge results. This is hands down the most impactful lesson I’ve had with him.
How long should that rope be?
Just simply REMARKABLE! After 50+ years of playing and hundreds of lessons, this one drill makes it so simple. Thank you Mr. Danny Maude.
Best tip of the year, Danny: simple, cheap, efficicient and ... elegant! Thanks
All the very best
Danny, how long of a rope should I get? Should it be long enough that you have extra rope at the bottom like your video?
Danny, I have watched many of your RUclips lessons many times. Some specific lessons dozens of times. I relate to your lessons better than any instructor online or in person. I'm hoping to get an on line lesson with you soon.

Again a great Demonstration of the mecanics behind a golf swing and of course of your skills as an instructor.
Thanks again for the support Michael, this is a great off season exercise
Been doing this drill for awhile now and the rope is absolutely the best training aid around. Thanks danny

Really happy to help
The best lesson After 29 years of studying golf swing.I can now flush the ball...thank you sooo much!!

One of your greatest visual tips Danny. Brilliant !!

Danny, I love this drill, no better practice for the body leading the arms and feeling how to trigger the down swing. Great video 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Daniel have a great weekend
You are the best teacher on the net. Thanks.
As always, making a complicated movement so simple. Genius.
Thanks for the support David
A very good drill. Other You Tube instructors are selling $100 training aids while you’re saying go buy a piece of rope. That’s why you’re the best, Danny. Thanks!
Thanks for the support, you often don’t need to spend lots to achieve some great results
This is great Danny. I now need to put the rope in my bag alongside the frisbee and tennis racquet. Getting a few strange looks out on the course ……..
Love it
I have always had issues with body rotation from a static position....this really helps creating the necessary momentum to get in sync and create a fluid backswing

Another great drill. Best coaching on RUclips.
Another fantastic explanation of the golf swing and a simple plan to develop yours. Thanks again Maestro!

I’ve been playing golf for 20+ years and this video has finally lit the bulb! Putting this into practice has increased both my smash factor and consistency. Plus the swing feels more natural. Very helpful tip. I used it in a round today and applied the "rope" technique to each of the club and the results were really good for me.

Best coach in the media. Thanks Danny. You are the best ⭐️
Really kind of you to say, I know there are some wonderful coaches online
After two shoulder surgeries and an extended period away from golf, this seems like a perfect, low strain way to find my swing again. Thanks!
Love to hear how you get on Bob
@@DanielMaude I got my rope today and was surprised how quickly I took to it. I need to practice the heel thing and get more body movement. 👍

I. Love it. This video with the feet drills video. Omg. My swing and rythm is crazy. Right now. I feel in control and so strong
Thanks Randell happy to help 👍

Great tip. Exactly what I’ve been looking for. Will buy some and take it to use when traveling.
What a good idea Colin
Danny you're the best teacher I've had. Massively improved my swing since watching your videos. This is a brilliant drill! Keep up the good work 👍
That’s wonderful to hear Henry, well done
Again a simple drill with an inexpensive tool to teach! Outstanding!
It’s my home practice during cold winters… 100 swings each day, when I don’t have time to go to the driving range.
Just watched it again, as I usually do. This will help loads. Backswing is generally ok but my downswing is a mess. Thanks, I’m taking this to Egypt to use in the hotel when not working
Awesome, let me know how you get on
Danny, you are such an awesome teacher. Everything you do is so easy to relate to. Thank you so much🙏
No other golf coach talks about the basics as you do.
Another great video, no1 coach on RUclips!
Thanks Danny...have been using your guidance to build up a swing as my sons grows into the sport and we golf together...this new rope training finally gave me a an inside out swing and a bottom up body supported swing...such a good "feel".
Again....wonderful. I wish my season here was longer. Great "feel" video!

Great idea and just makes so much sense. Saturday morning walk the dog then enjoy a new video from Danny
Love it, thanks for making my lessons part of your day. 🙏
I don't have a rope so I used "the pro". When I switched to an iron I could sense the shaft like it was alive. Really eye-opening. Thanks Danny.
That’s so awesome to hear Calvin
Very timely Danny. I don't know how these issues creep in from one round to the next but this gets me back on track. Thanks again for another excellent lesson!

Best video I've seen to explain the move. Well done.
I knew this…but I had forgotten the feeling! Thanks for the much needed refresher!😎👍
You are very welcome
I love this drill as you instantly know if you get it wrong - the rope never lies! Cheers Danny.
It never does Tom 😁
Great tip... I recall the Medicus club being advertised by Davis Love, similar approach.
Thank you 🙏
You make it look so easy and it makes so much sense. Time to get a rope.
Thanks Danny
This is a great drill. It’s almost a “no fail” way to get you to swing the club properly. Genius!
Thank you for everything you do Danny! Thanks to you, I have learned more about the golf swing in the last few years than I learned in the 50+ of my life. Question: Doesn't the Orange Whip accomplish basically the same thing?
I prefer the rope as it literally forces you to swing properly
How long is ur rope? It looks like nearly an 1” thick?
Nice demo with differences between iron and driver swing illustrated. Will add rope to bag for warm ups and practice!
That’s great Rodney, all the best
I never liked the term effortless.. I always preferred efficient.

Love to hear how you get on
The best video and teaching method I had ever seen bravo!
That’s awesome, hope it helps
Brilliant. 😯 this explanation has finally helped me understand the body led swing concept. Thank you.
That’s great Rosemary
Great video Danny. I love the simplicity of it and it's easy to work on at a low cost. Thanks.
Absolutely Colin Hope it helps your golf swing
A fantastic, and simple, lesson, and something we can work on over the winter. Love it.
As always a great and simple instruction to enhance the feel of the golf swing Danny - my greatest challenge remains moving the head upwards when attempting to use the ground to generate that ‘pushing away’ feeling with body - any tips/drill to avoid head movement (early extension?) would be much appreciated?
Hi David, I think one thing to remember is you need to extend upwards through the ball. The key is just timing when that happens.
I have the same issue - I don't seem able to control my head on the backswing, it just moves diagonally upwards along with the club. And sorry I didn't understand "extend upwards through the ball". Can anyone help me?
Hi Danny. How long is the rope please..
Nothing short of brilliant!
You're doing a great job externally rotating your right shoulder at the beginning of your downswing, very impressive.
Thanks for the feedback Bill hope it helps
That's the best trick I've ever saw...thanks .

Great lesson and great visualisation. You explain concepts so well, Danny.

@einstu thank you. I really appreciate your comment 👍🏻

@cperez5614 you are most welcome. Thanks for watching. Enjoy practicing 👍🏻
Just wow!!! Speechless! What a great drill!!
What a great drill - very simple but effective.
Thanks Tony, it really does help
Once again, great information and concept. You probably know about the “swing training pro”, How often do we take lessons and are told about P1 or see lines drawn for positions and club locations. Hard to get one’s body and mind on the same page with static concepts and fixed positions that are posed. Great!
This is a cracking tip Danny, really simple and effective, top work!
