Changing that setting doesn’t prevent the app from running in the background.
Revised 17.4.1 update has reduced heating issues and improved battery life on my 14PM.

Yes, same on my 15 Pro, 17.4.1 reduced overheating but I think the battery lasts less than before
Thanks for your help, the new update is draining my battery so bad, my phone is constantly hot, so I turned off all my apps battery refresh buttons, and it fixed my problem!
iPhone 12 Pro here, running the rereleased iOS 17.4.1 Build # 21E237 with no issues, much more stable than the previous update… however, you need a Mac to run Finder and manually update after iCloud backup

@@luiizzrosales3502 Of course. Samsung is always better then İOS. IOS has always battery problem, There is a problem of poor photo quality and inability to access files easily. Lack of free app issues. As a result; Apple is regret.
i also turn off the cellular data of all the apps i don't use much until i go to use them and only leave that on for the apps i do use a lot social media and calls and text too

My 12 Pro was on ios 16 when I got it, then I updated it to the recent update and now it goes down 20% in less than 30 minutes.
I just updated to 17.4.1. I haven’t had background app refresh activated at all and within an hour, my battery went down a lot

Definitely an IOS 17.4 issue. Turned off all background updates. Two days since the update I was at 99% 4hrs ago. Watched one 30 min utube video. Now at 12%. Unacceptable!!
