Welcome to the Letterman RUclips Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. The language may strike you as quaint & flowery, the clothing comically lacey & ornate - but that’s how things were back in this colorful and now bygone era. Развлечения
RIP, Raquel Welch. A more beautiful woman has seldom walked on this here Earth.
I know right. Did you know that Raquel Welch used to live in a city in Southern California south of Los Angeles and north of Mexico called San Diego? That was where she met her first husband, James Westley Welch and had 2 children; her son, Damon Welch and daughter, Tahnee Welch who was in the movie, Cocoon which I rent from the library every other week.
That’s so far from the truth.
My fondest memory of working on the show was the day Raquel came in early for a light check. No other celebrity ever came in early to sit on set while looking at monitors to check her lighting angles. With the director Hal Gurney in the control room, she looked left and right as if talking to Dave and Paul, all the while checking the way her image appeared on camera. It was that commitment to her craft that impressed me most. -Graphic Artist Roger White
You should probably write a book of memoirs
That’s kind of egotistical though.
@@dzanier Nah, that’s craftsmanship.
Light check? That woman would look gorgeous with just a flashlight shining on her.
Gorgeous, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Average singer, dancer, actress, but when you look like that, who notices talent?!
Her smile and grace, I love the way she carried herself.
RIP Raquel Welch. A stunning beauty. I remember holding her in high regard when I was just a child.
You and me both!
Nuts to this day. Think I’ll get one now…
Raquel Welch was beautiful in every way, physically and spiritually . We will miss her forever and the world is sadder with her passing.
My sympathies go out to her loved ones , I know this has to be so hard for them.
All of us walk this earth for a vanishingly short time. Sadly.
Many people who worked with her and many who had the misfortune of serving her in restaurants said she was very mean. I’d rather not believe it, but I’ve heard it from many.
@@dzanier I have NO personal experience with Ms.Welch , but in fairness she was a celebrity and they do tend to be twats at times....
@@threeballedtomcat9380 and it’s never justifiable. And should always be scorned upon.
@@dzanier I agree. If it weren't for us, they would be nothing, and most of them would do well to remember that......
What a woman! What a fantastic lady! What a babe! Possibly the only lady who ever dared to utter the word "foreplay", .. and after a long one at that. On air. She should have lived to be a hundred. I never thought a lady in this day and age could still exist. Raquel Welch will be truly missed.
She really was breathtaking
I can't believe she's gone. I'm still in shock.
She had a million dollar smile.
Yep!! And million dollar eyes...and a million dollar nose... and million dollar chi-chi's...
and million dollar legs...etc...Basically a Trillion dollar Babe!!!!!! Sooooooooooooooo Damn gorgeous!!!!!!
she was walking poetry, No woman touched her!!!!!
R.I.P. Raquel Welch.
The deer-skin bikini will forever be a piece of Americana.
83, and she looked younger and more fit than most 50 ur Olds. Thanks Dave
Talented trainers, dietitians, and surgeons. Look good a few extra years, it maters not; death awaits all. We are here for an ever so brief period of time, even if we live to 103.
She passed away at age 82. What is "ur"?
@@RebeccaLynnMusic Head .... point ....woosh!!!
@@Frankincensedjb123 I was not commenting on your comment.
I was wondering how old she was when this was filmed. looking at her very carefully, her face looks like a thirty-year-old, probably her body was in good shape too, looks like
I remember Raquel Welch from the 70's.. so much fun.. every time. She was in Seinfeld episode.. " Your going down ".. Cat fight with Elaine! RIP Raquel Welch.
She really DIDN'T swing her arms when she walked😉
RIP Raquel
Beautiful, statuesque, intelligent and a wonderful sense of humour.
R.I.P. beautiful talented sweet Raquel Welch, that book is great. I own it also Beyond the Cleavage those books will change your life for the better. Thank you for everything you shared with this world.
I bought this book when it first came out. Her accompanying writing to each pose made learning each one both easy and gave context. She gave me the understanding of the principles of both yoga and and insight to an incredible person. It changed my life in many ways. I still have the book and still have the muscle memory when I do the poses today. When I read the written part it still inspires me to try to be better both physically and spiritually. Thank you so much Raquel. RIP to an incredible woman. ❤
I love her accent and the way she conducts her voice. Exquisite.
So smart and beautiful she was. RIP Raquel.
Late Night was the best in my opinion. It was so raw and exciting
Can't agree more. And hilarious
Letterman was never a favorite of mine but good here. Raquel was the consummate entertainer; movies, sing, dance, and was funny, warm, and spontaneous, and it shows in this short clip. A beautiful lady, no doubt, to look at, of course, and in what she did, including going to Nam to entertain our guys there. Gone but will never be forgotten.
Her appearance on Seinfeld was an all-time great!!!
A story like that has to be true.
@@laudarevsonhunt 🤣😅😂😆
She seemed to be a very nice and gracious person ❤️❤️❤️❤️
R.I.P.
Simply beautiful...what a "lady" should be. Salute to one of our greatest..💜
Dang, this is about the 3rd time in the last few weeks I've learned of someone famous passing from the Letterman YT channel. Now I''m gonna be nervous every time someone pops up in the feed
She has a big smile..cool voice ..she has a shy side to her..
Saw her @ Giants Stadium @ Springsteen concert in 1985, very stunning.
A superstar and an icon even to this millennial who was first introduced to her on Seinfeld. RIP.
Not swinging her arms when she danced? Hysterical
@@carolwisniewski6740 Yup, "The woman is a menace!" 🤣
@@NoellaScott 🤣That was a great episode, well they all are to me. She was the epitome of "sexy" when I was a kid.
Rest in Peace, beautiful woman.
Beauty personified. Sassy but classy. RIP Raquel.
Raquel Welch rest in perfect Peace
Love this lady. Rest in peace, Raquel. Condolences go out to her daughter Tahney and other kids. Watch out for that long foreplay.
Fabulous sense of humor. Great imitation of Mae West! RIP.
Whom she starred with in Myra Breckinridge… a classic.
Damn she was fiine!
Yup!!!!
Rest In Peace Raquel.
My heart was warmed by hearing Barbara chime in at 3:30. I guess her horrible cold didn’t have an impact on her voice!
HE WAS THE ONE THAT HAD A HORRIBLE COLD. NOT HER.
I forgot how Letterman constantly interrupted his guests
Short hair - Long Hair - any which way a very special Lady - Charisma - Beauty & Intelligence - she truly had “IT”.
So, in the description it says this was filmed 2/17/86. She was born September of 1940, so that makes her 45 here. Still in the prime of her life. Incredible, nice 80s style outfit, what a time to be alive. Good for her.
I also noticed that she died on the 15th of Feb 23, so this show is two days short of being exactly 37 years before her death.
Just take a look at her appearence at the Piers Morgan show in 2015, almost 40 years older and even more beautiful and wonderful at 75!
At age 9 I couldnt stop looking at her. Stunning.
Shes about 46 here. She had work done over the years, but it was very well done. Little adjustments here and there.
I’d say she was more like in her mid fifties, but looking younger and still stunningly beautiful. This show must’ve been shot about 25-27 years ago, which would make her approx. 55 years old.
@@raymuniz113 It says "From "Late Night," air date: 2/17/86", so she was 45.
@@jrbleau You are correct.
The basic structure of her face was gorgeous - that lovely Castillian bone structure - there wasn’t much to go wrong.
She was so beautiful and intelligent. Such a sad lost.
She was not only smok'in hot but also very funny. A rare combination.
One of my favoutite looks on Raquel - Just love her hair!
Love Raquel. I bought the hard cover years ago. We miss you, always a fan.
my first yoga book! been teaching for nearly 40 years! she is great
I remember her most as the star of “The Scarsdale Surprise” on Seinfeld and as ‘Fussy Britches’ (as the warden referred to her) in “The Shawshank Redemption”.
Once again I see a new celebrity interview here, check to see if they are still alive and sadly they have passed away. So many seem to have died in last couple of years. R.I.P. Raquel. Such a beautiful and charming woman.
Last couple of months. Celebs have been dying every other week. How long ago was it that Lisa Marie Presley, Barbara Walters died
No, it wasn't meant to be anything other than an observation that several have passed away recently. Not that "more" of them are dying. No offense intended.
@@sunshinegirl1655 Who are you responding to?
Weird how time works, isn't it? Chances are, the more you know of them, the longer they've been around, so it's just part of life and what happens after that long (short) time.
Nowadays you’d get tossed out of the theater for whistling.
And it’s ironic that Letterman feigns having a heart attack years before he underwent very serious heart surgery.
In addition to everything else, Raquel had a nice laugh.
Tossed out? I don't remember there being any rules implemented nowadays. Especially for programs on after midnight
Stunning 🙏
Unfaded beauty! RIP!
Damn, another icon gone.
My gosh,she was lovely.
I remember in her films. One notable was "Fantastic Journey." She was a princess actually.
She was offered millions several times for a photo op. Needless to say what type.
She always refused.
Fantastic Voyage
Oh no!. Not Raquel Welch!??
Rip
"Way to go Dave" 👏
She was beautiful even with short hair
Just beautiful
She walked out sassy and brassy and was really owning being the sexy movie star. I love how she helps Dave try to find the most risque pose in the book ☺️ but nothing he did could embarrass her
She was very popular in Italy. In the 90s she conducted an Italian TV show for a couple of years.
Yes, she was gorgeous to the end and especially in the 60s and 70s. She was like the Babe besides Brigitte Bardot!
Took the wrinkle out of my shorts.
RIP to the Goddess Raquel Welch.
time goes by way too fast
What’s the highest number you can go to.., she looked at him like wouldn’t you like to know 😂
I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU (C)2006
This is an original song written for RAQUEL WELCH. ❤😢❤
Even as an old woman she was gorgeous, and a lovable actress. What heartbreaking loss for Hollywood
''Hollywood''(unless there's a way to profit from the event) couldn't care less; some close family members and friends, I imagine may feel otherwise ...at least, one would hope that to be the case.
May she rest n, peace ✌️...a beautiful 😍❤️ an talented actress...
Damn it. I have to find out she passed away by watching a Letterman Video?!!
She was 45 in this interview. what a goddess 💗
She was annoyed by him lol 😂
I wish I could see the interview that David Letterman did with Raquel's daughter, Tahnee on here as well as this interview he did with Raquel herself if someone has it.
Imagine what would happen if she suddenly arrived in the town of Chillingbourne.
RIP 😔
She was a lot of fun Plus beautiful. I remember the first time Fantastic voyage was going to be on TV and I was going to watch it with Mom and Dad and my brother and we talked about how maybe someday that they would miniaturize people and they could go in and fix what's wrong. She did have a way of making us believe
Rip beauty
Beautiful
She was gracious while being disrespected by a cretin.
RIP
Classy audience
This time it's no joke. Raquel Welch did pass away. So sad.
RIP Raquel. You sure made a lot of men happy! haha
Wait am I the only one caught the part 5:29-5:30 she acted like she was scratching the back of her neck but she blocked her mouth wit her arm and called David Letterman a “such a douche” lol after David said “yeah I’m kidding” sarcastic… pay close attention to tha part
Yup, she did.
😂😂 I though I was the only one saw that! Lol
She's not a wham, bam, thank you mam kinda girl. Always loved
I ♥️ Raquel Welch
Best known to guys for the poster from One Million Years BC.
God Letterman was such a creep, I had no idea.
We all know why Dave had the book covering his lap.
Remember when they re-ran this episode with everybody dubbed with different voices?
She wanted to be known for her talent rather than her looks. R.I.P. ❤️
She was a Beauty
Not some of Dave's best interviewing skills on display.
@@taxesdeathandtrouble.1886 Exactly. Endearingly flustered.
He's a terrible interviewer especially with women.
@@prmaninla That is not being flustered. When Cher called him out, that was flustered.
@@taxesdeathandtrouble.1886 That's what you call it still in 2023?
Very beautiful
I would write letters to her as a teenager and she never responded. And after the time I spent holding up her poster with one hand.
I feel your pain my friend.
that was great. rw def one of the most beautiful women ever.
❤❤
What a tremendously beautiful woman.
Dang, she will never know how One Piece ends.
David Letterman is always a class act. Unlike these late night hacks nowadays with their political agendas.
I don't know whY SUCH a beautiful woman would wear that out fit covering everything up!!!!
