Wow, that was fantastic. Everyone spoke and dressed well. It was a more elegant era. I remember this show very well. It was part of Family viewing in those days after dinner.
Tony Randel had a difficult time at first looking at her. She so damn fine, women just don't come any finer than Rachquel Welch. Any man that was fortunate enough to love that woman was blessed beyond compare! OMG she's so beautiful!!
She is so classy, and has elegance in that proper suit dress. The civility of this show is absent in any tv or cable trash show. Such a great cast and host. This gorgeous actress did not wear a low cut tight outfit, she has the confidence that her looks and class would hold up in a burlap potatoe sack. Her smile reaches her eyes, she is confident but not smug. Even today her beauty reigns still, as she has aged, just a natural.
I remember when Bennett Cerf filled in for John Daly, and Julie London was Mystery Guest in 1957. Bennett said that John had picked the wrong week to be away. Well, unfortunately, Bennett picked the wrong time to be away. I'm sure he would have enjoyed this segment so much. Bennett will return on the May 28 episode.
We remember visiting friends of ours in San Diego when she was the weather girl for Sun up or something like that.On Channel 8 or 10.We were told that she was going to be famous one day.And she was. What happened was, shortly thereafter, she was in that movie 1000 BC or whatever the name of that movie was.
I absolutely love how people weren't afraid to be adults back then. With mid-Atlantic accent (which I presume they received special training) they spoke with such eloquence, civility, and dignity. Nowadays in the U.S, people have no respect for each other, nor the English language for that matter. I love the mid-Atlantic accent so much that I would give anything to be trained in how to speak that way - even if it makes me look like a freak in the eyes of my fellow countrymen.
They say that when she walked in a room it was electric. Well let me relay my story. She had a song and dance act in the 70s. She even did a stint on Saturday Night Live dancing on of the dances. She came to the Warwick Rhode Island Musical Tent. I went and saw her. Just stunning. She walked down the aisle right next to me. Her rendition of "Fever" was fantastic.
Will Rothfuss - I had a huge poster of Raquel on my inside bedroom door. The one where she was thigh deep in water, wet and dripping, dressed in a little bikini. God alone knows why my Mother even allowed her to be there. I was only about 12 years old at the time.
This whole episode was very amusing and entertaining, but the cherry on top was the stunningly beautiful Raquel Welch. I certainly can't blame the panel for craning their necks for one last glimpse!
This was one of the best Mystery Guest segments; a hot woman stumped the panel. I am really disappointed in five episodes from 1967 no longer existing (that's five missing episodes too many!), but I'm glad at least this one exists.
Raquel Welch was 26 here. She will be 75 this year, and she still looks really good. She did have some work done to her face, but her doctors did a really good job. Better than one would expect. She has also gotten a lot curvier in recent years; she has more curves to her body, than she did in her 20's.
Arlene Francis was sixty the year this was made, and only just beginning to show signs of ageing...she was fortunate in her genes...but this wasn't really relevant...I think it'd be difficult to find anyone who had anything bad to say about her, and there aren't many of us this could be said about...she was lovely
Oh, Mama Mia. Look at Raquel Welch. One of the ultimate beauties of the 1960's. When she starred in Hammer's "One Million Years B.C. in that prehistoric bikini, she became featured on the posters of teenage males all over the world.
The entire panel watches her as she walks away. Priceless.

Tony Randel had a difficult time at first looking at her. She so damn fine, women just don't come any finer than Rachquel Welch. Any man that was fortunate enough to love that woman was blessed beyond compare! OMG she's so beautiful!!
lol, I have never seen all members of the panel lean back to see her leave. She is a doll though
Lynn South; Yes they did and she is a lovely woman in looks and personality.
Raquel is one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the Earth
I remember when Bennett Cerf filled in for John Daly, and Julie London was Mystery Guest in 1957. Bennett said that John had picked the wrong week to be away.
Well, unfortunately, Bennett picked the wrong time to be away. I'm sure he would have enjoyed this segment so much. Bennett will return on the May 28 episode.
I grew up watching this group and it saddens me greatly to think none of them are around anymore
I can recall seeing her in a movie called "Fantastic Voyage". As of 2020 she is 80 years old.
Fantastic Voyage was in 1966; I saw it when it first come out in theaters...
Thanks for this post! Grateful for RUclips!
I was so jealous of Raquel Welch as my husband adored her! I grew to love her as well!
We all had the Raquel poster in our dorms back in the late sixties- the same one featured in the Shawshank Redemption.
Will Rothfuss;Well done!
Will Rothfuss I
Not me , just the alphabet . Early grade school
I lost a lot of potential babies over that poster.
Will Rothfuss
- I had a huge poster of Raquel on my inside bedroom door.
Saw Raquel Welch at Danang xmas show, 1967...got to chat with her.....best looking woman I ever seen......enjoyed talking with her
This is one of my favourite episodes and funny too.
Saw her with Bob Hope in Vietnam 1967. She was/still is drop dead gorgeous.
Arlene must be psychic. She always is the one who comes out with the best clues.
Raquel Welch was 26 here. She will be 75 this year, and she still looks really good. She did have some work done to her face, but her doctors did a really good job. Better than one would expect.
She has also gotten a lot curvier in recent years; she has more curves to her body, than she did in her 20's.
Vahan Nisanian well her chest was man enhanced in the sixties, so it’s not all her through the decades.
She had two children before she was even discovered.
she had a good bod then but not a great bod.
Vahan Nisanian The real one had no plastic. She was, actually a stunt double at times for Bond movies.
She died in 1969.
@@dancooper5714 Au contraire. She had a great body, due to her exercise regiment. Later her exercise videos were killers.
Arlene Francis was sixty the year this was made, and only just beginning to show signs of ageing...she was fortunate in her genes...but this wasn't really relevant...I think it'd be difficult to find anyone who had anything bad to say about her, and there aren't many of us this could be said about...she was lovely
She was great and lovely!
Arlene was born Arline Francis Kazanjian and she was of Armenian descent.
Arlene went on to live another 32 years and died at the age of 93 in 2001. Awesome for someone born in 1907.
Wow!! I thought she was in 40’s here. Very beautiful.
She was charming, witty, gorgeous and downright sexy. Everything in one package!
Damn.. after she walked off they watched her promenade and were all star struck and stunned. What a graceful Icon
Oh, Mama Mia. Look at Raquel Welch. One of the ultimate beauties of the 1960's. When she starred in Hammer's "One Million Years B.C. in that prehistoric bikini, she became featured on the posters of teenage males all over the world.
***** Not to mention "Ooh da la", "akita" and "sauron". :)
***** I bet that most men were too busy being captivated by her beauty that they didn't pay attention to what she was saying.
***** Her words in OMYBC for spear and pterodactyl respectively.
lunashot She could speak?
She really is something!
19:01 is when Raquel comes out to the show. Thanks for up-loading this!
Raquel met the legendary Janis Joplin and they got on really well.
Lol at them all checking her out as she walked away....I hate to see ya go....but I love to watch ya leave 😃😃
Right on ! Not even Margaret Dumont got looks like that !!
Tony Randall seemed overcome
Emma Nation-- I doubt Tony was overcome. He doesn't swing that way.
