First- absolutely gorgeous and fun. Or more velvet but less stars and heroically is Bernadette Banners dramatic velvet house coat.

As a veteran of many velvet cloaks and dresses I feel your pain. Bet your cutting floor needed a few good sweeps too 😂 Literally ten thousand pins is your best bet for keeping your edges aligned as velvet slips like a lady hound; it also forces you to go slowly. A quick-ish fix for your neckline might be to run a sturdy tape or elastic through the channel made by your trim to add a bit of tension and keep everything in place. Fab dress though and I just love your presenting style - sewing is a chaotic process however careful you try to be! RUclipsrs with huge, perfectly clean and organised studios make me want to scream 😘

It’s fine that the pattern companies split the patterns into two groups. Keeps the pattern sheet from getting too chaotic. However, I do not understand why the size in the middle isn’t on both patterns, precisely for people who fall between the size groups.
