Parts of the music sounded a lot like in the Sims buy mode, and I think, this fits so well! I could actually see your diamond switch from green to red every now and then 😂
You've inspired me to get back to my regency nightgown, I started during the pandemic lock down.. and then started 99 other projects and completely forgot about it 😶 time to get back at it!
Drawstring tip, run the two ends through a two hole button and knot each end. You are less likely to lose the drawstring in the wash and it actually tightens up better.
All these Bridgerton inspired sewing videos from you and other yt creators are really starting to convince me that I need to actually watch Bridgerton. I’m not usually one to watch drama or live action romance shows, but I do love my historical romance comics.
You should! I haven’t actually seen much drama or romance shows either but Bridgerton is so good, I joined to see the costuming and stayed because the Bridgerton siblings are just too real😄
Thank you! My goal in life is to either be dressed as a princess or a bog witch at every possible opportunity😄 it is a relaxed project to do, I hope you have fun 🖤
You did an amazing job!! 👏👏👏 This has actually been on my list of future projects! I love nightgowns. I always loved Maria's nightgown in The Sound of Music (1965), so I took a photo last summer and then drafted my own! Wear it every night and it is the best part of a hot summer day. Made of cotton ivory-colored sheets and is so soft and comfortable! I always sleep so well in it because the cotton is so cooling. :) Honestly, it feels *delicious* !! 17:57 I'm proud of you, lol! :) As for finishing seams...hand-felling seams are actually one of my favorite parts of sewing garments! It always is so satisfying for me to see the inside of my project as neat and pretty as the outer garment! :) 1:44 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you!! (And I appreciate you being proud of me 😄) Nightgowns are the best aren’t they! And you’re definitely going to have to show me that now! I really want to do some older style ones too, maybe going back to 17th or 18th century. I haven’t actually tried sleeping in it yet, don’t know why but it makes me nervous 😂
@@MadameMyriad Oh, I will definitely get my sister to do a photoshoot with my candle in hand!! Then I will send you a photo! It is not perfect, but for my first time completely drafting a pattern for a whole garment. So yeah, some things I will change next time...like a lot of things. But wearing it makes me happy. :) You should definitely sleep in yours!! It is amazing!!
I used to use the safety pin trick for running ribbon or elastic in casings but I found it easier to either use a bodkin or drawstring threader. The later is my favorite most of the time.
Absolutely loooved this video! I have amateur sewing skills but this project is definitely on mi list as I'm also obsessed with vintage night gowns! Loved to see such neat seams on the robe, was really satisfying, but in my case I'm usually too lazy to do them as neatly as you did :)
Thank you so much ☺️ I love them too! As soon as I finished this project Tesco started selling some and I am very tempted to get one 😅 I finished them so they wouldn’t fray but they were definitely not neat! It does feel nice to have closed seams though, I may have to put in the effort more often 😄
Hmm... I would have made the lining removeable. Maybe have made the liner as one whole piece then attach them around the collar. I would have thought the nightgowns would have been of a very light and airy-ish fabrick like you chose, and unlined. at least to use for the warm days... LOVE the fabric you chose for the robe!
I did intend for it to be a lot lighter but I also didn’t want it to be completely see through so that was my main motivation for adding the lining 😂 It’s so beautiful! I’d been waiting for a worthy project to use it on for over a year😄
Here I am scanning the comments to see if anyone told you they were proud of you - because I am, and my seams are always unruly and raw inside the garment, so actually taking the time to fell? Very proud indeed.
0:44 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I have started a garden and will leave the house for that but aside from shopping… I also go anywhere interesting. Not that interesting but since 2020, especially, I have no interest in being in large crowds. Or small crowds. Or crowds of any kind. Or really even in small groups.
A women after my own heart ! My thoughts exactly! WHERE would we wear Bridgerton dresses ? I’m not going anywhere are you ? lol But I have been LOOKING for diy for the pyjamas ! My favorite are Kate’s ! Could you make a diy for the“robes” her and her sister Edwina wear on top of their white nightgowns ? Thank you 🙏
I’ll probably still make a dress one day but pyjamas seemed like a higher priority 😂 Kate’s are my favourite too! I almost made one of her open robes but as I wanted to wear it around the house I like being wrapped in things to get cosy 😅 Those are really similar to sleeved Spencer patterns though if you’re interested in making one, I think laughing moon has a good sewing pattern for that
Love, especially the nightgown. I'm not one to sew anything, however, for threading the drawstring through the channel, I would have tried 2 different methods. 1) Very long zip tie. Tieing or taping the string to the end 2) Unfold metal clothes hanger.
Yay, thank you! This was the first time I’ve got my calligraphy stuff out in almost two years and it shows, I have completely lost my ability to do it 😂
@@MadameMyriad Well, your cursive looked great!! I love calligraphy and am still learning as I am not great yet. I actually full-filled a life long dream last week! I lit the taper candle in my candle holder, sat down at my desk, opened the window in front of me, cool night breezes washed over me while I wrote a letter by candlelight!! Plus is was even more rewarding as I was relaxed in my cotton nightgown! Ahhh, then I dripped wax onto the paper to seal the envelope and snuffed out the candle with my candle-snuffer!! Oh my goodness. It is the little things in life, is it not? :)
Haven't watch even one episode of Bridgerton. I know it has outfits that are not according to time period it presents because of Karolina Zerbowska's yt channel. But your nightgown turned out pretty nice. A tip for putting ribbon into a channel: take a safety pin that fits through the channel, fasten that to your ribbon and you don't have to stress out your fingers so much.
Thank you so much, I’m glad you’re enjoying the projects 🥰 I’ve always wanted to visit Spain! I looked up where you’re from and it’s absolutely stunning 😍🖤
Both are from Amo Threads, it’s a UK deadstock site. They always have so many interesting options but stock is limited and changes quickly as everything is deadstock. I believe they might still have some of the white but I bought the purple over a year ago so that one is long gone by now
Parts of the music sounded a lot like in the Sims buy mode, and I think, this fits so well! I could actually see your diamond switch from green to red every now and then 😂
I hate how right you are😂 I’m not going to un-hear that now

That was a little bit too relatable 😂 Good luck with your finishing your nightgown 😍
This is by far my favourite of your projects so far!
Aww thank you 🖤 I haven’t worn this for a while, I need to get it out and have a Jane Austin night or something 😄
Drawstring tip, run the two ends through a two hole button and knot each end. You are less likely to lose the drawstring in the wash and it actually tightens up better.
This sounds cute too!
Ooo that’s a good idea, I might have some nice beads that could work too 🤔

Candles are a must for dramatic nightgown shoots, I can’t wait to see it! 😁

Agreed
I didn’t even know those existed, thank you for sharing ☺️
What a beautiful outfit, and what a perfect way to watch Bridgerton.
Thank you ☺️ I practically watched it in one sitting while I had the house to myself 😂

I did not know I needed it..
Haha, we all need shiny hobbies, it satisfies our inner magpie😅

Lovely! Perfect for Bridgerton viewing!

Yea they take a lot of creative liberties but they do it very well which is rare 😅 Thanks for the advice 🖤

If you dislike dealing with raw seams, try using a shirttail hemmer if the fabric is thin enough or fold in and in again and stitch in the ditch.
I had to look up what a shirttail hammer was and boy do I want one now! Thank you so much for all the advice 🖤
Love it!
Thank you 🥰🖤
That looks really pretty 😻
Thank you ☺️ 🖤
Where did you get that absolutely beautiful fabric?
