She actually appeared in a movie and her character was American. I attribute her ability to be able to pull off a pretty authentic accent not only to 10 years of living on and off in Cali, but her musical ability as well. Many of us can hear something and mimic it with our instrument or voice. Simone is a pretty gifted musician…vocalist and piano…I believe. But I do have to say…much prefer her native accent.
yep, I'm not that familiar with the Bridgerton cast and I just assumed all of them were British, but she had me Googling her to verify -looks like she lived in the US for a while as a teen which explains it.
I love how all the girls were trying to do specific American accents and were exaggerating but Luke sounded the most natural because he didn’t try so hard 😂
Wait so this just confirmed my theory that we sound informal to the British the way they sound formal to us. Luke said it sounded chill lol I always wondered... we're like their lazy language cousin with no manners 😂
Jet, sums it up. Holds true for people learning English and being taught primarily BE, when you're exposed to AE the first time it's kind of a shock! XD The tongue and everything is more floppy and there is less enunciation (everything sounds softer) so it sounds a bit.... idk colloquial? Sorry.
The show is filled with silly dialogue and cliche tropes. But in all honesty I'll tune in for season 2 because I really do like the cast a lot (and also because book 2, Anthony's, was somehow my favourite apart from Collin's book)
The show is set in a theme park version of Regency England. And I don’t mean the ethnicity. An all-white cast could have been done and it would still be obvious based on the dialogue and the way the characters act that it’s not reflective of Regency England. But you don’t always need historical accuracy to enjoy something. Haha.
@@raphaelledesma9393 honestly with all the liberties they took, it would have been inexcusable to not include all the diversity. I mean if you’re messing with historical accuracy, might as well change it to something good.
Without hearing Simone in any prior interviews, you would think she's an American doing a British accent for the show, at least for an American watcher. This was a blast to watch!
I know I'll be narrating things outloud and it will all be in a British accent and not even on purpose 😂 "okay now I've got to grab you (talking to my coffee creamer, and you (milk for my cereal) etc." 😂 I wanna know if I have a decent British accent, I think I might by now lmao
you can tell which actors have actually gone through accent training versus the ones who haven't, lol. sounds like Simone Ashley probably gotten training for potential US roles.
I read once that Brits watch the same TV shows and movies that we do, so they're just really good at picking up our accents because they see more of our shows and honestly outside of PBS we really don't get as many British shows that go mainstream. Sidenote: British comedies are far superior to ours. The IT Crowd and Coupling are some of my favorites!
i loveeee claudia and simone’s voice so much no matter what accent it’s in. also i’m from california and simone’s accent sounds like the accent of any person i’d walk by on the street here lol. it was spot on!!
@@SL-lz9jr yeah, same, californian accent to me is just like a plain/kind of soft sounding west coast accent i guess? also what a coincidence, i “moved” to NY a few months ago for college.
A big reason why it sounds worse is the different tone and expression being used and not just the accent, lol. I liked Luke’s and Simone’s best. But I realize as actors it’s a lot of fun to do impressions
Their accents are all pretty darn good. It's the little things that trip us up when trying to speak with a British accent or an American. Like the way they said "often". Some include the "T" (American) and some left it out. I love these types of videos! 😂
SII is well written and the costuming is superb, the characters are well acted. But I can't wait until Collin's and Penelope's episodes. They will be just as good. 🥰🥰🥰❤❤
The Bristish are always better at our accents than we are at the various British accents. I could listen to these all day. I probably should work but, yeah, here I am.
Is nobody gonna talk about Nicola’s Kardashian impression, it was SPOT ON
yea its perfect and the bible bit ugh i love herrrr
Yesss it was perfect
Bible hahahaha
except the “known” part you can hear her british accent
It was!!!!
I love how half of them are doing the "valley girl" accent.🤣🤣🤣
As an Australian, when I fake an American accent, my go to is valley girl 😂😂😂
That’s always the go to
It’s the easiest to do and very recognisable!
I personally love southern accents but I couldn’t impersonate them as “good” as valley girl 😂
It’s the easiest one to do
@@Rachelsaccountas an American, when I fake an American accent. I always go to the valley girl.
Wow, Simone’s American accent is dead on.
lol
She’s spent a lot of time in America

Yes, and she sounds like a normal person. Just pronounce words correctly, with the correct emphasis, and you have an American accent.
Charithra's version of the Lady Whistledown dialogue just sounded like Gossip Girl tbh lol
I thought she sounded like Kelly kapur 🤷🤭
I LOVE HER 😂😂 she’s not taking this seriously at all! 😂
Yes I thought so too
my first thought!
@@nikitanair5283 I don't know who that is. Sorry
their american accents are all really good actually especially simone
She’s spent a lot of time in America if I recall correctly
I agree
they all basically did valley girl accents minus simone and luke😭😭
They did better than I would speaking with a British accent.
Simone was really the only good one. Lol.
CLAUDIA'S I BURN FOR YOU 😭 and her "you are a diamond of the first water" love her
And her hand 😂😍 love her & her voice 😩
SHES JUST ELOISE IN REAL LIFE😭😭
she’s hilarious i love it 😭😭
She sounds like Joeys agent in Friends 😭😭
Hers were so great 😄
Charithra's Brooklyn accent is actually so beautiful 💀💀 she sounds really kind and fun!
It was really cliché sounding to me. Like it's from an exaggerated Italian pizza commercial😂. But stellar effort regardless!
She looked and sounded just like Snookie at that part
Awful, but funny!
everyone's out here jokin around, and then Simone straight up convincing us she's actually american
Exactlyyy!!!
quite literally
So true. Something about it just comes off as authentic. What is she hiding 🧐

So spot on!
Why is Luke Newton’s voice just as sexy in an American accent as it is in a British accent?
Omg I thought so too 😂
Sounds like Grant Gustin and I love that
Right?! Nailed every line
right!!! it’s because the tone / color of his voice i guess? he’s got such a nice voice
@@multifanderisverycrafty Yes it doesssss.
CHARITHRA'S BROOKLYN "Ayyyyy I BURN for you!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sounded so much like Rapunzel or some quirky disney gal honestly🤣
Yep. That is the official New York accent. You just add "Ayyyy" in front of everything.
She was so funny with that
FUGGEDABOUTIT 😂
I heard Lady Gaga accent when she said that 🤣😂🤣

Charithra needs to be American in her next role ! Her accent was amazing!
It made me laugh so much x
Me too…she was funny
Yeah, she won! She could be a voice actress. She was great with her accent and was able to be animated with the lines.
Charitra is such a vibe and Simone's laughter is so freakishly cute
Lady whistledown in American accent sounds like gossip girl
It pretty much is! ☺️
this comment is GOLD! XDDDDD

As an american our accents unless you have a heavy southern one or something have always sounded really monotoned and plain
I don't know why I read this as "table manners" and it's so much funnier because it sounds childish
Charithra tried to talk like the women in American reality shows 😂😂
She was so good too! 😂 A perfect New Jersey housewife
Reminded me Chanel no. 1 in scream queens
Luke and Simone have the best American accents, but Nicola and Charithra were the most hilarious.
Oh God Claudia and Charithra are so funny!! And Simone's laughter is adorable 😭💖💖 love the cast so so much💖💖💖💖
