Maiden flight of this 100g mini glider by Angelwing Designs, with Pitcheron wings. It was really light winds so I was having to fly it gently, but in a slightly stronger wind it will be nice and aerobatic .

Lolol !! Silly and fun music was perfect for this plane! She's a cutie for certian! Interesting the way she stretched her feathers on the ground before being asked to entertain us! Interesting framework in the wings as well. Thanks John!
Hi John, Looks just like the Pug DLG. Flies great. Interesting design moving entire wing for roll. Kudos to Katherine for keeping up with the movements. Both of you stay safe.
Great little aircraft. Built one similar years ago . Bigger in size and swivel wings were driven from inside the fuzz. Very direct and responsive as well. Well done cheers
Quite a broad flight envelope for this design! It fly's great in light wind yet appears to be able to handle a 40 mph wind. Looking forward to future videos in heavy wind. Thanks John!
Amazing! So I guess there is no rudder servo, but just variable incidence for roll, and another servo for pitch .Flight is beautiful, mastered by Mr John. Superb and congrats !
I felt sorry for the grand old OB2, suffering the indignities of the pesky Pug, flitting around above her, like some irritating insect. Nicely done.. again, Sir John and Madame (Dame ?) Woodfield.
That looks like so much fun, I wish I could do that. Started in RC back in 1972 and as of now have never gotten anything off the ground and into the air.
0:01 - it looks like I feel after a good night's sleep, still in my bed yawning, stretching & wriggling my toes, wondering if I'm hungry enough to get up and make breakfast, or if I should just start with a coffee and take it from there. Difference is; I never could fly.
Another enviable flight. Would it be possible for you to rig up a chest mounted camera pointing at your Tx so we could see how much or little control input is necessary to fly a model as light and twitchy as that appears to be. Would be fascinating for a wanna be flier such as myself. Keep up the good work.
I grew up in San Diego County near Torey Pines and the most excellent place for sail planes and other assorted wind power modes of flight.... kinda like surfing the sky
I think it's interesting that Torrey Pines are found in 2 places on Planet Earth... that one small stretch of wind and cliffs above the ocean in California... and in New Zealand.. probably near this area.... thanks for sharing... great engineering... beautiful airplane
for those using balsa wood... add spray shellac to the wood... very thin silk can improve structural strength and durability applied to the wood before cutting... really thin coffee filter can be substituted for silk... parachute silk is actually pretty cheap... aircraft grade silk... guaranteed
Must be GOAT glider builder for county, interesting see how this one performs, only build tow line myself many years ago, love channel nice one Mr. Woodfield respect from N.west.
Amazing flying, John. Could I ask how this compares to the Dreamflight Ahi? They both seem pretty aerobatic, but the Twisty seems better suited to lighter conditions. Would that be fair? Torn between the two....
Thank you. Your assessment is spot on. The Ahi is definitely more aerobic and has quite a following. The Pug won’t really fly continuously up side down and doesn’t have a rudder, but will fly in a lot less wind. Both are great gliders. I guess it also depends on whether you want to build something from a laser cut kit or have something to fly almost straight out of the box.
@@SlopeRCGliders Thanks John. I've been flying for some time but haven't ever built up a kit. The covering is what I find most daunting - but nothing ventured and all that... Thanks again.
Unique. Don't recall seeing a control system like that before. So the main wing takes the place of the elevator and also acts as "ailerons" by twisting?
Do you think this would work as a fun, interesting casual park DLG? Or would the actual DLG (pug) by angel wings be a better bet? I assume this is a little heavier
I’d go with the regular Pug. It’s not really possible to launch the twisty wing version by the wingtip because the wing is only held in place by the servo arm.

What kind of wind range is suitable for that plane?
@@derekbell5333 Have not trying it in real heavy wind, but I like it a bit strong. Easy to land than. It's not really a slow flyer.
_Where are some resources that teach how to build this sort of airframe, and skin it? Thanks!_

Felicitaciones...!!!
That's a little gem of a plane. Something to put a smile on your face on those light wind days. Thanks for another great build and vid!
What a sweet little plane! You should make a biplane version with all 4 wings moving!
That’s. Really. Cool. John. Wing. Worpping. Pug.

So much fun.
It will be nice to see it do it's antics in a stiffer breeze.
Thank you John
Will do great in strong winds. It´s fast .
Another superbly done video, flying, video and music. Well done!
This is the first time I've seen the pitcheron system- you can turn so tightly that it's always within arm's length! Cool little plane!

Uh John.....wouldn't be good to fly into that lovely camerawoman lol. Another great video you two.

I have the dlg Pug. I bought it after watching your post .... Now I want another one !!!
Awesome glider. Looks like a lot of fun.
Slopes really nicely Would love to have one to add to my small collection
John what a beautiful flying smaller model WoW
Cool control stuff. Never thought of trying that..nice work.
Nice little plane that Pug and nice conversion to Pitcherons. Look forward to further flights with it.

Just two servos, Pitcheron only, now rudder or eleavtor
That's very clever,because it's very efficient,although pilot is excellent!
Looks great!. I built a Crobe with Pitcheron wings from some free plans many years ago. I need to get that out again and fly it!.
John, I admire your designs, they are really original.
Best regards

Haven't since I was a tadpole.

Well impressed with that and I've never heard of you until now.

Very nice flying
Love it I gonna start buying some of those carbon rods.
gorgeous
Es perfecto, vuela muy bien.
That’s a cool design
This looks so light & with an interesting all moving wing ailerons. Could fly in a mere puff of wind!

An OSB board placed at an angle, a fan in front of it and you can heat the thing around in the living room

Cute! Which version do you prefer, or is it a bit early to form that opinion?
It’s a bit early to tell. I think this one will be fun to fly in a 10mph wind
Unique. Don't recall seeing a control system like that before. So the main wing takes the place of the elevator and also acts as "ailerons" by twisting?
Thats correct. It has the advantage of no extra weight in the tail as there are no control rods etc.
Now there's a control scheme we don't see often. So simple and effective. Was it hard to tune?
It’s actually really easy to set up
This place would be a nice place to fly a kite with a long tail .

The glider kit is £42.99. I already had the radio gear but you could probably get it all for about £100
Take my money!
no motor needed here!
Hello... Cool Glider, maybe you have a blueprint for me?

Hi there. I made it from a self jigging laser cut kit. It all goes together without plans.
So no elevator or rudder ?
Nope, pitch and roll are all done on the wings.
