I have to say Badbat, I do enjoy you. It does break my heart to know what your going through right now! But, you haven’t let that stopped you. God Bless ❤
Great review! Living on the east coast, rain gear is sadly my most used piece of backpacking gear. Thanks for letting us know about the packa. This seems like it will work much better than my current system. I really like how you can wear it in “turtle mode” and then quickly put it on when it starts raining. A smart and efficient system. Well done and on my gear list! 😁
Thanks for your great review and instructions! I bought my Packa after seeing yours and have been very happy with it. Since I hike during hunting season I got the red one. I’m a raspberry! Take care!!!
Hah! I was one of the hundreds who asked questions about the Packa. After your review, I like it more than I thought I would. I was initially concerned about the weight, but when u take into consideration that it's also a pack cover... It balances out. Thank you and I still miss seeing you everyday. Thankful for Fridays tho smile 😊.
My husband and three boys each had a packa on our thru hike and they worked great! Also they each had a different color so that was perfect. The weight was the con but since it’s a rain coat and a pack cover it really all works out. And being able to leave it open or not put your arms in it is nice when it’s hot.
I saw you wearing this many times on the trail. But I really appreciate your specific review of it and showing off all of the cool features. This is really neat
Excellent review, this caught my eye when I first found your channel, so glad it worked for you, love things that are so versatile! I even remember saying, what's this blueberry thing ??? lol. Please do, more reviews!
I purchased a Packa back in 2012 after seeing it on a vlog of a Through Hiker on the AT. I believe it was Joe Brewer. Bad Bat, you are only the 3rd hiker besides my self and Joe that I've ever seen who carries the Packa! Oops, Shug carries one too!
This was great! I would love a video comparing all of your tents. Tents are so $$$ it is super helpful to hear how they really hold up with continuous use. Thanks and Happy Trails! 🏕
Not sure this is available in the UK nor the EU, but for us over the pond there is the Altus Atmospheric poncho which is very similar. Regardless of that, seeing how well you did with this set up is encouraging.
Great rain gear review, I definitely like the poncho technology versus a jacket. I would find very valuable a flog on your tent choice and pro & con on single or double person for thru hiking and. Single wall pole ultralight tent versus freestanding or semi.??? ❤ pray your heart is healing.
They should name that color the Blueberry Bat edition. Congrats on getting to 5000 subscribers. I hope you keep making hiking videos and your channel continues to grow. 😎👍
Great review! This jacket would fit over my winter jacket and allow me to walk when we have snowy/rainy New England weather. I may wear a light backpack. Will have to check the cost and if there are other options. I really don't need all the room in the back.
Great video! This is the perfect combination of jacket, poncho and pack cover. I will definitely be getting one….and in blue! There could be a whole bunch of blueberries on trail next year! Thanks for sharing!
"Bump out!", "HooWaah-Bam!", "Seee-Yow!" LOVE the BadBat Maxims & Lexicon. "LOOK at it!" You are a hoot and a half and highly intelligent. What a combo. Thanks for the great vid. Now I want a "Packa" by Cedar Tree and I ain't hikin' nowhere! I'd say THAT's a great spokesperson. (Are you listening, Cedar Tree?!?!) 🦇👏💙🌲
Thanks for the review! I assume that even though you said to be careful with the visor while packing back into the pouch, that it is ok when you compress the pouch into your pack?
Very good instructional video explaining a piece of gear not routinly seen in stores or on the trail. I enjoyed learning about the features and especially about how you actually use it. You failed to mention. how much yours weighs and as a backpacker this is important to all of us. I realize that their are many different configurations and the weight will vary , but what does the model you are using weigh? Rainmaker ☔
Thank you for your input on the Packa. I asked you about this piece of gear in the early stages of your hike. In the past I have never thought I would like the poncho type of rain gear, but with your endorsement I did end up purchasing the Packa. I am going to miss following you this next Thru hiking season. I always started my mornings with my coffee and watching a Bad Bat video. I do have a quick question....Did your wear some type of sunscreen on your face? Like yourself I also have fair skin. Of course I know that you wore a ball cap but was curious if you had a sunscreen/block that you liked. I had not heard you mention it in any of your videos.
This is one thing I wanted to ask you about! I bought a Packa prior to my 2022 attempt but didn't end up using it. I was concerned about if it was raining hard when I got to camp that I'd have to take my rain coat (Packa) off to get my pack off & tent out and then either decide to let myself or my pack get wet while I was setting up my tent. As opposed to having a separate rain coat and pack cover, you could keep both yourself and pack dry when you get to camp. How did you navigate that issue? That is my one hesitation to using it. Also, did you ever wear rain pants as well, or was the Packa long enough in your opinion?
Badbat we enjoy your videos! Can I ask where you ordered your mid layer melanzana “knockoff”? I ordered one from freedom industries and I think I’ve been ripped off lol they took my money and it’s been about 2 months and no items - was wondering where you ordered yours?
Very expensive, well over a hundred dollars and it doesn't come with a warranty. But it does look like it's like good quality and probably worth the money.
We don’t hike, but we go to outdoor events and travel with backpacks. We’ve been saved by Ponchos more than a few times, but always struggled with how to keep our backpacks dry. I’m thinking this would be a worthy investment, because relief from being wet and miserable is worth 💰
My husband bought one a few years ago that's similar. I like yours having the pull ties around the pack area so you take off the arm parts but leaving it on just in case. I'm sure The Packa loved this video too, you did an awesome job showing us. 😊
Hello, I am Lina from the FLOWSOLE brand. I like your creative content very much. I sent you an email and hope to have the opportunity to cooperate with you.

They really should sponsor you. You could sell that to a seal.😊 Fun to see you on here Badbat. Keep ‘‘em coming! Stay strong.😊❤
Great video ...Cedar Tree should hire you as a spokesperson. Happy Trails !!
I never knew I would be so interested in camping gear. Lol thanks that was fun to watch!

Love THE BLUEBERRY!!
Thanks for your great review and instructions!
I bought my Packa after seeing yours and have been very happy with it. Since I hike during hunting season I got the red one. I’m a raspberry!

I would have used that rain pack as a night pillow if possible. Your choice did seem the best by far, but gosh the gear overall is so very expensive!

Oh wow!!! This really helped me so much!! I been looking into rain gear..this is definitely what I want...thank you so much!!
Badbat only you could make a rain jacket review totally entertaining ! Love all your videos, keep them coming ❤️
High praise! Thank you 🦇
Thanks for this review!
I have learned to pay attention to your opinion of gear. Well thought out and presented well.
I saw you wearing this many times on the trail. But I really appreciate your specific review of it and showing off all of the cool features. This is really neat
I've been kicking around tge idea of getting the paka. I'm so glad to see your review.
Thank you for the review. I'm definitely leaning towards this rain gear.
Terrific job! I love the "full blueberry mode" description.
Excellent review, this caught my eye when I first found your channel, so glad it worked for you, love things that are so versatile! I even remember saying, what's this blueberry thing ??? lol. Please do, more reviews!
I’m having BadBat withdrawals. 😂
Hopefully we’ll get more videos soon.
Enjoy your videos a lot.

Thank you so much for doing this detailed review. This looks like an awesome piece of gear and truly served you well. I'm practically sold! ☮️❤️🤝
Wonderful video. Thanks for doing that. Love your style and energy ❤

I must say I really like this thing. Thanks for the full review.
Eddie Hinnant created this rain jacket/coat. He is from my home town
I'm putting my gear list for 2025, definitely using this! Thank you!
I was looking for a link for it? Looks like the perfect item to take for a Camino next year. Thanks for the review
They should name that color the Blueberry Bat edition. Congrats on getting to 5000 subscribers. I hope you keep making hiking videos and your channel continues to grow. 😎👍
That would be amazing! Colors: red, green, grey, and blueberry bat 🦇
Is very versatile thank you for the review..
That's nice rain gear.

This is the same reason I never got a Packa.
I love your voice🤣🤣🤣deaf people talk so funny 🤣🤣🤣
When it’s raining and you get to camp, what did you cover your pack with while you were wearing Packa and setting up your tent? Thanks
Badbat we enjoy your videos! Can I ask where you ordered your mid layer melanzana “knockoff”? I ordered one from freedom industries and I think I’ve been ripped off lol they took my money and it’s been about 2 months and no items - was wondering where you ordered yours?

Great review, nice product. What was the cost?

Good review.

Can it be used as a rain ☔ fly? What does
it weigh?

Why don't more hikers use this? It makes more sense that any other rain set-up I've seen.
Great review! 👍🏼🫐 🦇
How can you buy one?
If you were a sewing god and had the ability to modify this in any way, what would you change?
👍👍🦇🦇💛💛🦇🦇👍👍
Looks great but what about the cost? Thanks for the review and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
