I wish there were subtitles. For people who can’t hear and for people like me, who comprehend much faster and efficiently when they have words to follow, allowing double the knowledge absorption. Or something within those lines.

There are two reasons for that
1: Most people are simply dumb and have no idea about geopoltics and history and are often the target of Russian and Chinese propaganda
2: Others have an idea about history and geopoltics, but those are the people that dont want for the US to be a superpower, instead they want their country to be superpower and when others are sending troops, supplies and money to help stabilize them and encourage economical growth they just feel "humiliated" i'll guess.

The problem was, you can't compare Apples to Oranges. You can't say that if it works on Japan and Europe then it will also work in the Caribbean and Central America. The European and Japanese populations are hardworking and industrious, they have a highly-educated, highly-skilled, and professional labor force that's why when they receive the economic aid and assistance, they utilized it efficiently that's why they effectively rebuilt their economies and overall their countries as well. In Caribbean and Central America? Its a different story. Protestant countries tend to do better economically than Catholic countries but work ethic in Caribbean and Central America is similar to that of the US, Europe and Japan, however, working conditions are different, wages and salaries are low, taxpayers' money are mismanaged and goes to corruption, protectionism and closed economies (they should have learned from authoritarian Singapore and "Communist in name only" China and Vietnam's economic success). After all, throwing out money isn't always the solution to the problem.

Depends on from when you're counting. From 1946? It's a nice question. Any of the 4 years leading up to it? I'd have to brush up on my German or Russian.
Prior to 1941, the USA mostly kept to itself anyway.

    • @olidojosephd.9054

You wouldn't have any American intervention but instead, you'll have German intervention (German Fascist puppet states if the Third Reich win WW2) or Russian intervention (Soviet Communist satellite states if the Soviet Union win WW2 alone). At least, in the current US-dominated Europe, you can disagree with US actions such as Suez Crisis (France and UK vs Egypt, US, and USSR), prime minister Harold Wilson not sending British young men to the jungles of Vietnam, protests on the deployment of American GLCM and Pershing II missiles in Europe, protests against the US Invasion of Iraq in 2003 (Operation Iraqi Freedom). Try to do that if you we're Chinese and Russian allies and you disagree with China and Russia's policies. Of course an "independent Europe" is not realistic, if the Americans didn't intervene in Europe, someone or others will do (such as China and Russia). Can you just accept the reality that the whole world has just become a chess board and playground for the superpowers okay?

While the Marshall Plan was undoubtedly a good thing, part of its purpose was to keep American industry going after the expected drop off following the end of WW II....Europeans were forced to spend the money on American goods even if they could have saved money by trading among themselves.
