My Pioneer Bag is four years old. It always falls over. Sad they could not correct this flaw over a four year period. Great review.

l like your dislikes. the bag was looking like the overall winner until u said it falls on it's own. I can't "stand" that!! Also your assessment of the pass through placement is spot on and not sure i'd want that. i watch too many vids where the cons are not covered. Good that you cover the cons. Most important thing in a review or it can't be called a review
Thank you! I really appreciate that. Definitely think those are important too. I just don’t want people being surprised and bummed about their purchases. The falling over is definitely the most frustrating thing ever, and is way worst if you have drinks and ice in the cooler.
I cant decided i want the 2020 DLX. But when will the 2022 version come out?
I completely agree that one of the only downfalls is the wearing on the bag for the cart strap. The other one being that my bag does keep falling forward as well. Fortunately for me I haven't damaged my $500 driver yet (SFT BTW.) I understand that it does it as well so I always try to take care to not let it lean forwards. All in all for the price it is a great bag. The cooler pocket works extremely well. And I absolutely love the waterproof pouch.
Glad you agree! Seriously my favorite bag still, just those 2 things are a bummer, I was hoping with the new version this year they would address the cart strap part but didn’t. The cooler is seriously the best, will never have a bag without one again.

I reckon it tips over by design, because the clubs are on an angle so they fall to the front when placed on the golf cart. Try this, put the bag at a 45 degree angle or put on a push cart, and set the clubs as you normally would. Now stand the bag up, and you see all the irons just fell forward (or try to). and BTW its really not suited for push carting as the angles of the dividers push the clubs inwards, making it more cluttered.

The 2022 Ping Pioneer cart bag stands up straight A LOT better and the cart strap thing has also been handled at least to my satisfaction. I also think the beverage cooler is even bigger (amazingly) and now has a drain at the bottom. Just got it but I think it is awesome.
I am comparing it to my old 2019 bag so my take is mostly based on that comparison.
How is it after a year??

Glad to help! I know they just redesigned the pioneer this year, but I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet to see if they fixed any of this.
I think I have the newer model. The problems you point out are still issues. But just as say the cooler pouch is a great idea. I play in 105° weather throughout the summer. I keep a large sports drink in there with those re-freezeable ice packs. Works great. This bag while designed for cart use is seriously flawed in that department. Otherwise I really like the bag.
yeah I started a video on the newer style I haven’t finished yet, definitely liked it a lot. however like you said all the problems are still there. Definitely over all my favorite bag still, just wish they made a few changes like where the cart strap rubs and somehow make it not fall over so easily haha. Glad the cooler still works great in that heat! definitely the best cooler I’ve seen and tested out so far!

Like the bag as I use it exclusively on a Golf Cart, that said it’s a race to get it from the GC to the vehicle before it falls over. My main issue with this $250+ bag is my carry strap pulled completely out from the top of the bag. 12 Clubs 4 sleeves of golf balls and a lightweight rain suit. Does not stay in after laborious attempts stuffing it back into place only to fail again. First bag to ever do this. Definitely a deal breaker.

I got dlx vinyl white down here in Aussie. Beautiful bag and I use it solely on the back of motorised carts. The pass thru for strap sucks and then when pulled tight the bag is on an angle. Pain in arse when 2 of you using cart. Great bag for storage and clubs but fundamental design flaws so annoying. Good vid BTW.
Great choice, my favorite bag. I completely agree the pass thru isn’t very good, think something simple like that would be better thought out, or at least tested first haha. Definitely some little annoying flaws but great bag still. Hope they up when ever they update it they try to fix those things. thank you so much I really appreciate that!
Nice review what’s your thoughts on the 2022 version of the pioneer bag or traverse. I have a 2016 pioneer bag I’m looking to upgrade but not sure which one to get.

I’m currently working on a video for the new Traverse as we speak, I like floral design of the one I have but overall with the bag I wasn’t very impressed with it (when compared to any the other Ping cart bags). I haven’t had a chance to test out the new pioneer bag, but I think it could be my new favorite once I do. Looks like they have added some cool little extras, without giving up much. Just limited color choices at this time. Hopefully both videos with be out in April. let me know if your still deciding then and I’ll try to prioritize them.

Have a Pioneer bag. Falls over all the time on its own. Got rid of my Ping Traverse for the same reason. My Pioneer still in nice shape. When it goes, doubt I’ll get another. No balance to it.
yeah it’s a shame, it’s an other wise great bag. however isn’t great when it puts a dent in your driver because it can’t balance on level concrete haha.

Hey bud how does the dlx stand up? That’s my biggest worry about getting a cart bag is I’m gonna have to lay it over if there’s nowhere to lean it. But that cooler in it looks dope, thanks for the review on it
The DLX stands better than the pioneer but still not amazing honestly. the Hoofer Tour is a great stand bag, but no cooler pocket and a little less storage.

@@ShawnyBGolf oh I’m gonna like it, the bag I’ve had for the past 10 yrs is like the 92’ Civic of bags. It works, but it’s a shit box. Mostly just want that beer pouch tbh. Tired of spending $30+ on beer, this bag is gonna pay for itself
@@kakimotoK20 hahaha very well deserved it sounds than. The DXL cool is a bit bigger than the Pioneer just as a heads up if you didn’t already know. I definitely like the new Pioneer a lot. Working on the video now.

Sorry to hear that. Totally get it, great bag but sucks knowing someone could just look at it and it would fall over.
That's not a ball pouch. That is where you keep your lures, so you can quickly grab one after you have selected one of your 14 fishing rods.

It's crazy to me how these cart bags aren't engineered to stand up on their own when full of clubs and balls and what not. It's a major issue. I have a 20 year old canvas and leather bag and while it's heavy and lacks storage, it's a sturdy as a rock. I want to upgrade to a newer one, but that's a killer weakness.
