I've come back to watch this again and there's just so much joy and love here, thank you for sharing your craft in the most wonderful way 💚
Thank you for such a kind comment ❤️ I’m weaving together some fresh stories to step my toes back into the podcast world ✨ can’t thank you enough for all your support x
Wow so many seedlings! 🫶🤩🌸
Thank you for your wonderful spirit.❤
Thank you for watching and supporting me ✨🌿
Thank you for such a delightful experience. The sensation of walking around the corner of an old building, in an old part of town, and coming up on someone you're sure you know but can't remember meeting before. I'm looking forward to spending many more quiet nights knitting here with you. Thank you 💙
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words ❤️ what a beautiful thing it is to surround ourselves with those who inspire us, thank you for your craft ✨
Alex, I haven't been on the internet lately and thus haven't been following your work, but I have to say I stumbled on this video just when I needed it. Your beautiful voice is so lovely to listen to, the warm and gentle way you read transports me to a different place where all is calm and still. You have the soul of a poet. As I suffer through a painful period of recovery after surgery this video grounded me in the present moment and give me some moments of respite. Just like the early spring plants I will survive this period and enjoy my time in the sun once again. Truly amazing how you managed to bring such a feeling of connection to someone thousands of miles away. Thank you for sharing
Hello Helen! This warmed my heart so much, thank you for taking the time to let me know. I’m so glad that I was able to bring you some relief from the more difficult aspects of life, I hope you’re doing well and that you’re easing yourself back to wellness. There are brighter days ahead, and I hope that you’re able to find them soon. It’s been so lovely to connect, I’m sending you so many well wishes for your recovery xxx
Lovely podcast - so beautiful and calming. New format is fabulous! Thank you!!
Thank you Alex for making this podcast with all your heart! Your voice is so calm and relaxing to listen to while I'm knitting and spinning. You have inspired me as a new spinner to one day be brave and get a non treated wool fleece to take care of, spinn and knit (and maybe weave + sew) from. A reminder of our ancestors and let me be in the process more than looking forward to the final product. I hope you have had a good summer and looking forward for more content from you and become a Patreon. Greetings from Gotland 🥰🤗🌿
What a lovely thing to hear, there’s nothing better than hearing that people would like to try processing wool from scratch. There’s no other feeling like it, and Sweden has some absolutely stunning sheep breeds that you could get some fleeces from ❤️ sending lots of love to you! X
This was just lovely, Alexa. You are such a beautiful and gentle soul, and I am grateful to you for creating this podcast. Your words, craft, and thoughtful processes inspire and soothe me. Thank you and many blessings.
Thank you for a wonderful inspiration🙏. I love your new format
Thank you so much ❤️
I do like your format. Congrats on your new job. How exciting and I look forward to seeing how the kitchen garden develop.
I think that was my favourite episode yet! So so special, and I appreciate so much the work you put into it. In the last year I’ve also found myself only wanting to work on projects from raw materials as well. My favourite knitted garment is from a fleece I enjoyed spinning sooo much and then knitted so intentionally to be a practical edition to my wardrobe. There’s no feeling like it ❤ sending you lots of warm wishes and I look forward to seeing how your projects progress… now to dream up my next few projects - you’ve really inspired me 😊
Thank you for leaving such a wonderful comment and for all of your support! ❤️ I’d love to see your raw fleece garment! Xxx
Your offerings are a delight, and just so soothing to my spirit. Thank you!
I, as well, love the new format. I noticed a smile come to my face as I was listening, and felt meditative and calm. I wasn't even stressed that I found a mistake at a rounds end whilst knitting the body of the Kevat. I just peacefully started ripping back. You have a soothing voice and a way with words. It's lovely. And grounding. Thank you.
This might just make me cry! Thank you so much for your kind words, it reinforces my belief that knitting brings us closer to nature and more mindful of ourselves. I’m so glad I could bring you some calm ❤️
I appreciate your thoughtful making and your gentle, poetic soul. Thank you 🥰.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it ❤️ I’ll be sitting down this evening to catch up with your creations x
really lovely
Thank you for an absolutely gorgeous production 🧶your wonderful footage of the environment you inhabit and all the yarn goodness mixed in - soooo beautiful and very inspiring 🧶I recently moved to Northumbria and bought three alpaca fleeces which are heavenly … thinking of sending them off to be spun but your podcast gets me wondering if I should eventually try some hand spinning?! 🙏💥🧶🌈🙏
Thank you so much for your kind words ❤️ I’m absolutely loving spinning alpaca in a wool blend, I would recommend keeping a little bit to try spinning by hand ✨ xxx
I felt like a child playing in a fairy garden watching this! I appreciate your oneness with nature and desire to explore crafting naturally.
This is the best comment I could receive! I hope the magic you felt can be transported into your life and that you always feel like a child playing in a fairy garden! 🌼
I love your presence here, Alexandra. I feel very spoilt to receive your stories. They are such a gift. I often find myself writing your words down in my journal to reflect on later. Your words wind around my heart, so. You hold exquisite space so beautifully for your viewers. Thank you 🙏

Thank you for this perfect start into my saturday morning. I really enjoyed this video, especially this new format, and could fully dive into the experience of watching it while knitting. You make me want to try all the crafts, because everything you do is just so beautiful and seems to be so cozy and relaxing. I hope you enjoy everything you do.
Thank you so much Nele! This is such a lovely comment to receive, I think life is enriched the more we try to learn! I’d encourage giving so many different things a try 🌿
LOVE the new format! Thank you so much! ❤ 🧶
I really like the new format! I had just came in from planting my vegetable gardens to sit and enjoy a podcast, and found this one in progress. Love the videos of the gardens you are working on (lucky you!), and you've inspired me to knit a cushion cover as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole podcast - thank you!!
Thank you so much Maureen, your day sounds absolutely heavenly! It’s so exciting seeing everything going into the vegetable garden. Such a time of hope and renewal! I adored making a cushion cover, the novelty is wonderful and I can’t wait to have it next to my knitted blanket and quilt 🌿
Hi Alex! I absolutely love your Soiree and was curious about the pattern. But when I look at the Ravelry pictures and your garment the pattern under the arms (between the cables) seems to be different? I think the Ravelry pics show a kind of honeycomb effect while yours has this amazing squishy texture. Btw the new podcast format is so calming to experience
Hello! Gosh, it's been a while since I knit it but I just followed the instructions for the texture. I remember realising when I was knitting it that it didn't look like the photos but wasn't sure if it was because I was knitting it wrong or the texture of the yarn didn't match up. Not sure if that helps at all! :') so glad you enjoyed it!
It's very helpful to know you followed the instructions in the book. I will have a look at other Ravelry projects to see if something has been mentioned by other knitters about the texture. But regardless yours is an amazing piece and that peachy oatmeal shade is just dreamy! @@AncestralCraeft
So lovely!
That was such a beautiful interlude in my day, so creative and inspiring. Congratulations on your new job in that beautiful garden. It looks like you will make such a difference there. I was so interested to see you using a supported spindle. I love to spin, albeit slowly and badly with a drop spindle but I can't find a way to do it that doesn't leave me exhausted - I am disabled by ME - is supported spinning easier on the body in your opinion? I imagine a wheel is the least fatiguing option - for me it's raising my arms that is worst- but I could be wrong. I'd just love to spin more.
This is such an interesting question and one I’ve never thought about so thank you for asking! Supported spinning is a lot easier in terms of the energy used to do it, the technique takes a little bit of time but so worth it, it’s also quicker than drop spindling. Spinning on a wheel is super easy on the arms but tiring on the legs, perhaps an e-spinner would be a good investment for you? There’s also support spindling on the ground with a long spindle, could also be an option.I hope you find a way that works for you, spinning is such a gift ❤️
Alex, I love this new format! It feels very poetic and inspiring. I have some Nutiden in my stash and might make the Felix cardigan too. The eyelet detail is so pretty x
I’m so glad that you found it inspiring, absolutely make the Felix cardigan in nutiden, it would look so dreamy! I think it shines beautifully in an unspun yarn 😊 x
so inspiring and beyond impressed by the craftsmanship of your projects as always. your soiree fits beautifully! absolutely love the new format too :)
Thank you so much Abbey 🌿 I really appreciate the time you took to write out such a lovely comment. I’m so glad you like the new format. Now that I’ve refound my sense of play with it all I’m hoping it will become more regular! X
Hello! I’ve just found your channel and absolutely love your videos and how beautiful Scotland is, and how very talented you are at your craft. I live in the US in Maine. I also love all the seasons and watch as each one unfurls. I wonder if you ever sell your hand spun? It’s beautiful and I would love to buy some if you do. I love the natural colors as well. I have alpaca on my dpn’s right now making socks for upcoming winter. Be well, and I hope to hear from you regarding your yarn. 🥰
Hello! Thank you for your kind words, I don’t sell my handspun at the moment, I don’t spin fast enough! And I’m too greedy and can’t let go of them 😅 alpaca socks sound dreamy!
Beautiful 🤎
