Some people even claimed A message to your heart was a rip-off of Belinda Carlisle's We want the same thing (1990) with those Oh... during the chorus and there are two references to other famous songs, that is, Say a little prayer by Aretha Franklin and Walk on by by Dionne Warwick.
As the one of them, I hear a big influence, You can hear timpani hits and that break (guitar with vocals on studio recording, guitar and timpani with vocals during that live performance) at the end of this song as it was the younger sister of "(We Want) The Same Thing" by Belinda Carlisle (i mean comparing to the album version, not the one called "Summer Mix" with shouting "Hey, hey, hey, hey")😉
It Is very interesting to watch how the backing singers dance routine evolved to the one they performed at the actual contest. Both Lucy and Nikki went on to have successful careers in showbiz, but I don't know what became of Zoe.
Interesting also that the ghost singers (back of stage) were Hazel Dean - who had a huge career, and Kit Rolfe (who’d previously competed in 1984 with Love Games - Belle and the Devotions).
I had an instant crush on her in 91, still like her :-)
She looks amazing here 😊

I wonder if this song inspired "There by the Grace of God", by Manic Street Preachers😂
And "harvest for the world". Her voice is so grating.

hate to say but this happens a lot. maybe the judges noticed that .
Late 80s Early 90s was such a special time music world-wide wise lol
Just 18 when she sang for the UK.
Ronnie And Roxy aka Sam and Rita both had pop careers before acting lol
Shes was great, but underused, in 'Pie in the Sky'.
Pity she wasn't in the last series [5].
really shouty
TUNE.
Where did this end up in the finals? Nice song!
This was the song that was selected.

Very good song but she has big problems finding the notes
If she knew she couldn't sing live she shouldn't went in for the song foe Europe
Who cares? She was an absolute stunner 😊
She seems to have big problems finding any of the notes tbh
would have sailed through if it were not for the ridiculous costumes .
This was always a terrible song.
No i love it
