  • We all have that pretty fabric bundle, those pretty fat quarters, or that jelly roll that we've holding on to for forever. On one side they just feel too pretty to cut in to. But when you gathered the courage to cut into them, well... what should you make with them?
Let's chat about how to settle on a quilt pattern in this video!

This was so helpful. It never occurred to me to look on the fabric manufacturer site for the fabric line. And there they are - patterns perfect for the fabric line. Thank you!!!

I frequently buy fabric with no pattern in mind. I eventually find patterns I like.

Great tips, Irene! I liked the idea of placing a solid together to brake the bunch of patterns. It adds more interest.

I would buy fabric just because I liked it and then ended with it just sitting there. Now I only buy a fat quarter bundle or a few fat quarters for a specific project already in mind. Most of the time I have seen a video showing how to make a certain quilt block, or zip bag, etc., and buy that specific fabric shown. It has worked a lot better for me. Your ideas were a great help, and I will try that out as well. Thank you

Irene, this was a very helpful video with great suggestions. I liked the block you settled on with the Tula Pink fabric since it allows you to highlight it in an interesting way. Can you post a link to where we can find the pattern for that block? One thing that helps me pick a pattern is I keep a list of patterns I have or like that I would like to make in the future. It is also a good place for me to start when planning what quilt to use with certain fabric. Thanks for all of your great videos.
