@s0nic777 ...you mean like choosing to play with the wii mote or the classic controller? With either system it's really up to the game developers whether or not you can choose between motion controls or a normal controller. I think it really just comes down to personal preference.
@thekid20x6 How close to you get to the screen? I always play 2m+, and I've have no problem with it. At that distance, the field of vision is quite good. Also, for a few of the games like Flight Control HD you can play quite comfortably even when you are out of the camera's view
@LPsForNintendo thats why i said bundles. You said just the controllers cost as much as a wii. If you were to get a bundle, another controller, and two navigation controllers, then it might cost a wii, but the navigation controllers are hardly a requirement as they aren't used in many games. I heard you can just use the regular ps3 controller in place of them.
@uscdrew1 but there are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more casual games on the wii as opposed to hardcore..so what kinda system it is?... im sure the casual outweigh the hardore on the wii like 4 to 1 or even higher
@razzkazz Mine's sitting on top of a flatscreen right now... ...maybe it's not flat enough @Mark Would you like Move more if it had lightsabers? blasters?
Great, fun review!! Quick tip for the camera: While it won't sit on top of a flatscreen, it hangs perfectly if you just pull the wire up from behind the tv and let the camera rest against the top of the tv frame. (assuming the PS3 is close enough)
@jigglemaster7 No, the infrared camera is used for the buttons, similar to the technology of a TV Remote, since it doesn't use Blue tooth. It's not used for tracking the remote.
@ApatheticYoshi So wait a minute, you actually think its bad to improve, and its good to go back in time when things were clunky, and barely responsive? Also, how does MW2 outselling The ps3 exclusives have anything to do with the move?
@Madmonkeythegreat Copy right laws state that a product though similar and functioning the same canot be the same. So thus wii motion, kinnect and sony move. all similar and functioning the same but not.
all the cords that come with anything PS3 is too short. The usb cord for the controller forces me to sit on the floor if i want to play while recharging my controller. Good thing i have two controllers so i can just rotate...
one thing that i dont like about the move is that you have to really close to the tv and you cant go out of the camera's proximity or it doesnt work on top of that there is the problems with the fact the camera's cable is way to short and i dont think the controls arnt move responsive then the wii mote + motion plus and .... on top of that there who wouldnt say that the ps3 wouldnt be outdated very soon, making the move a waste of money
@RainingFlow19 if you are asking me why I din't go for the 200 dolar 360 slim the answer that the hard disk itself is at the price of around 110-130 dolar(the hdd is important for me duh) 4gb is simply not enough...
@jigglemaster7 As I already told you before, the Wii uses accelerometers and Gyroscopes! The sensing bar is used to track the Wii remote in a sense, but it's not as developed as the PS Move to track the ball in full 3D. The sensing bar's main purpose is to track whether it's going left, right, down, up, and still relying on the other motion sensing stuff. Plus it's old technology. It's with the old infrared lasers and technology seen in normal TV Remotes, as I already said before.
ok people let me set one thing straight. the eye toy was not a "motion controller." it copied your image onto a screen palete into which your body would tell iit which button to hit. The first actual motion controller was the wii remote in which you could move the pointer on the screen and your motions would play the game.
@1destroyer5x I didn't say anything about a numerical score. This whole video was just a couple of guys playing with the PS Move. He didn't really talk about how it works or what it can do. He said we should check out the games if we are thinking about getting it??? Wow, that goes without saying...
what really sucks is we just bought a hdtv last year, and now theyre making everything 3D and motion controlled,so i got to buy the move and kinect and a 3d tv just to enjoy my games
@yoshinator2000 technically that's true but the move is for people who have PS3 beside if you don't have PS3 you can wait tell the price for move drops because by that time the good games are like Killzone 3 are out
@kainan613 not really.... they are VERY different... Eyetoy used spacial detection kinect used skeletal detection it can pick up 1000's of times as many movements... psmove and the Wii-mote with motion + are pretty much the same thing
@cQnne: well, move is more accurate than the Wii. its also fatser, more responsable and can integrate you into the game thanks to the camera. the only point where it lacks yet is a great library of video games for the move. technicaly, the move is superior to the Wii. also, the move can detect all 3 dimensions of where your controller is located. the Wii only knows the x-y position (up/down + left/right) while move also knows back/forward, so x-y-z dimensions. this provides smoother gameplay.
i like the move. i dont have one and my place is too small for it...but i have played it at a friends. it was fun, we played that building blocks game and a few other older games that had the move patch like heavy rain and stuff....i think playstation move is pretty cool. nice and accurate too...and has a cool glow
@kregzdeM3 Not in a few quite sooner than that maybe 1 or 2 tops as a reference here's some release date of past consoles GameCube-2001 Wii-2006 PS2-2000 PS3-2006 the next console gen is due soon
@YoungMoney4280 Not anymore. Wikipedia now forces you to make an account before editing posts, and they've got content moderators that ensure that each article only contains valid information. Besides, if you look up wiimote specifications on other websites, it says it uses blue tooth. You can also look up ipod touch emulator videos of people connecting wiimotes to ipods via bluetooth.
@wooterz I do agree that Kinect may not catch on, but the Move sure does. The library of games seems more promising. Kinect seems to really push those interactive sports games a bit too much for its launch.
@Pooverse: The company he works for, Inecom, LLC. changed buildings in 2010 or something. Mark claims that it's an underwater base. We know that's false, but that's why it's funny. Yeah, it looks like a storage facility. It's actually a building with "storage facility-like" rooms.
@Anoush13 the wiimote uses bluetooth and the ir is used for tracking where the wiimote is. please go to wikipedia or something before trying to prove me wrong.
I don't like the camera design either. But I managed to find a PS3 Eye Camera Mounting Clip on amazon and now I'm able to mount the Eye to the top of my HDTV! PERFECT! I hated having the Eye on the table next to all the wires and discs.
@Tryzon If anything they might make a game or two worth playing or trying but...most people have a wii or either don't wanna waste that much money just to play 1 games or 2 that are worth playing on an outdated console
This has to be the best hardware review I've ever seen so far. :D
Thanks Mark!
At 3:39 it seemed like there was a bit of lag between the actual motion and the onscreen movement.
@s0nic777
...you mean like choosing to play with the wii mote or the classic controller? With either system it's really up to the game developers whether or not you can choose between motion controls or a normal controller. I think it really just comes down to personal preference.
Great flashlight! :D
this makes Move look really fun . great review as always
@thekid20x6 How close to you get to the screen? I always play 2m+, and I've have no problem with it. At that distance, the field of vision is quite good.
Also, for a few of the games like Flight Control HD you can play quite comfortably even when you are out of the camera's view
@icemer1234
lol what does a camera have in common with the Wii controller and Nunchuck?
4:20 Cosmic Carnage?
the reason for the move lights up in different colors is so that when you use multiple remotes it can tell wich one is wich.
Does it have a rumble feature? That would give it another purpose.
LMAO This was hilarious. You guys should do some multiplayer game reviews so you can be on here together more often.
@Rachman1337 Did Wii even try NOT to completely take the Eyetoy?
@BurningArmyman you mean the power glove that doesnt work?
The instructions show the camera sitting on top of what appears to be a flat-screen TV. Is it really capable of doing that?
@uscdrew1 but there are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more casual games on the wii as opposed to hardcore..so what kinda system it is?... im sure the casual outweigh the hardore on the wii like 4 to 1 or even higher
@GameDroid98 by hardcore you mean "more generic fps with flashy graphic" ?
@Anoush13 actually the wii has infrared cameras that read where the controller is
this is one of the best hardware reviews ive seen :D
Why were you guys only using overhand movements at 2:11?
@razzkazz Mine's sitting on top of a flatscreen right now...
...maybe it's not flat enough
@Mark Would you like Move more if it had lightsabers? blasters?
How will Kinect be able to see in the dark?
do i spy cosmic carnage for the 32X?
@Asharintoth they have kinetic or something no?
Looks awesome, hope I get it, also the vid's description says that you are reviewing PS Home.
Great, fun review!!
Quick tip for the camera: While it won't sit on top of a flatscreen, it hangs perfectly if you just pull the wire up from behind the tv and let the camera rest against the top of the tv frame. (assuming the PS3 is close enough)
Was that a Return of the Jedi reference with the continuous strike at the blade?
@jigglemaster7 No, the infrared camera is used for the buttons, similar to the technology of a TV Remote, since it doesn't use Blue tooth. It's not used for tracking the remote.
the only question i have: will there be a starwars lightsaber game?
I'm trying to get a job at gamestop and I need to know about this product for the holiday seasons...
THANK YOU CGR!
why does the classic game room head quarters look like it's inside of an aluminum storage shed?
but the real question is, can you burn people with monsters and cut them in half?
@ApatheticYoshi So wait a minute, you actually think its bad to improve, and its good to go back in time when things were clunky, and barely responsive? Also, how does MW2 outselling The ps3 exclusives have anything to do with the move?
why would you play that close to the tv?
@Madmonkeythegreat Copy right laws state that a product though similar and functioning the same canot be the same. So thus wii motion, kinnect and sony move. all similar and functioning the same but not.
"Why is it hooking to the right?"
"Because you SUCK!"
You're mean, Mark! XD
I loved seeing you and Derek playing together. You guys are awesome!
the Camera seems very picky about where you stand.
@freegamers97
well you CAN use it as one.It does vibrate.
@Blackbohnster I don't know... I see lag in the video.
all the cords that come with anything PS3 is too short. The usb cord for the controller forces me to sit on the floor if i want to play while recharging my controller. Good thing i have two controllers so i can just rotate...
@syxx573 What other ones are their?
does this works with the PS2 eye toy camera?
Whats the peice of classical music called
one thing that i dont like about the move is that you have to really close to the tv and you cant go out of the camera's proximity or it doesnt work
on top of that there is the problems with the fact the camera's cable is way to short
and i dont think the controls arnt move responsive then the wii mote + motion plus

@xCypres No, Move should be Cosmic Carnage compatible.
@jigglemaster7 As I already told you before, the Wii uses accelerometers and Gyroscopes! The sensing bar is used to track the Wii remote in a sense, but it's not as developed as the PS Move to track the ball in full 3D. Plus it's old technology. It's with the old infrared lasers and technology seen in normal TV Remotes, as I already said before.
I'm not sure about this but I think that Heavy rain is also compatible with the move
was that an orval glass?
A motion controller and a flashlight! AMAZING!
Is the Playstation move compatible with Sega Genesis.
"Why is it hooking to the right?"
"Because you suck."
Best part of the whole video.
if i have wii and ps3 should i buy move ?
Are you guys recording in a storage unit?
yes but does it have monster hunter?
@LPsForNintendo More like two move BUNDLES. controllers themselves are only around $50
One of the best videos of CGR.
my mom make me choose between this pack or an extra controller(i had only one) and motorstorm pacific rift
@EnvyMizuhashi Actually, Eyetoy is a camera, Wii is a remote.
time crisis razing storm is coming out for the ps3. they will also will re-release time crisis 4 with it. and both are compatible with the ps move
ok people let me set one thing straight. the eye toy was not a "motion controller." it copied your image onto a screen palete into which your body would tell iit which button to hit. The first actual motion controller was the wii remote in which you could move the pointer on the screen and your motions would play the game.
@AnthonyOnBass There is no lag..... I know, since I have the move and Sport Champions
@kingddd17 ok sorry my bad. i meant first working motion controller. dont go ranting to me about the power glove and all that stuff
@shion16 I chose the extra controller and Motorstorm =P
@kingddd17 first working motion controller is the Wiimote....... sounds legit to me
@yoshinator2000 technically that's true but the move is for people who have PS3 beside if you don't have PS3 you can wait tell the price for move drops because by that time the good games are like Killzone 3 are out
@Krytopsy Except that Ninte has Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Fox, Kirby, DK, etc.
lol, I love how you're taking the mick XD
@elshek It also comes down to the developers being more open.
Are you guys in a storage locker?
@kainan613 not really.... they are VERY different...
Eyetoy used spacial detection
kinect used skeletal detection it can pick up 1000's of times as many movements...
psmove and the Wii-mote with motion + are pretty much the same thing
@RustxInxPeace93 What is it with you and wrestling
LOL on the openning with the calibration.
@cQnne:

I have my ps eye on top of a flat screen. I just use velcro to hold it in place.
i like the move. i dont have one and my place is too small for it...but i have played it at a friends. it was fun, we played that building blocks game and a few other older games that had the move patch like heavy rain and stuff....i think playstation move is pretty cool. nice and accurate too...and has a cool glow
@deadsexy22 have u ever played wii boxing? if u have and played the fight lights out u would know it is better than wii
@crazykidcapa Nintendo is running the market in japan and in US with it's Wii and DS sales i don't know what your talking about.
the description says "home" not "move"
@Typhlosionprime1
I added the :P on the end that's how. :P
"Why is it going to the right?"
"Cuz you suck."
@kregzdeM3 Not in a few quite sooner than that maybe 1 or 2 tops as a reference here's some release date of past consoles
GameCube-2001
Wii-2006
PS2-2000
PS3-2006

dave replacement?
@RedYoshiReturns Too bad nothing really ever shows up on it anymore. And the introduction of the 3DS VC isn't going to help the Wii VC any more.....
@yoshinator2000 Have you played it yet?
@wooterz I do agree that Kinect may not catch on, but the Move sure does. The library of games seems more promising. Kinect seems to really push those interactive sports games a bit too much for its launch.

Yeah, it looks like a storage facility. It's actually a building with "storage facility-like" rooms.
This review MOVES with awesome! thanks CGR.
Still waiting for the Playstation Move Lightsaber.
''How is called it in golf?'' ''A fucked up shot '' LOL
@Anoush13 the wiimote uses bluetooth and the ir is used for tracking where the wiimote is. please go to wikipedia or something before trying to prove me wrong.
@yoshinator2000 you can get both controllers and a launch game for $130
I don't like the camera design either. But I managed to find a PS3 Eye Camera Mounting Clip on amazon and now I'm able to mount the Eye to the top of my HDTV! PERFECT! I hated having the Eye on the table next to all the wires and discs.
I love this review, so much.
@Hyakitaki It's not a shed, IT'S AN UNDERWATER BASE. WITH MISSLES. AND LASERS.
not to mention the killer robotic sharks.
@Tryzon If anything they might make a game or two worth playing or trying but...most people have a wii or either don't wanna waste that much money just to play 1 games or 2 that are worth playing on an outdated console
@kregzdeM3 Look at the yellow light on the PS3 and also Nintendo already is making the console as soon as the Wii came out
