I was 12 when ANTM first started. I wish I could personally thank all of them for helping me get through my younger years. I was a poor, struggling kid and that show gave me a reason to be excited for something. Gosh, I really miss those days.
omg Jay is 6’1”???!!! He’s so right, those ultra tall judges made him look so petite! I would have been shocked if I ever met him and he towered over me haha
One time on the petite cycle both Jays are in a limo with the girls. That was the first time I realized how tall he actually was. I knew he wasn't short, but knew he wasn't as tall as Miss Jay.
Cycle 1-9 were the most iconic memorable funniest entertaining cycles hands down Cycle 10-15 were decent but it wasn't the same after that it went downhill ☹☝🏿
Cycle 6 was cheap, 7, 8, 9 were so commercial and teenboppy. Cycle 10 they went back to Italy, McKee cycle 11 was the most high fashion, Teyona, Aminat, and Allison were all hot, no one cares about 13 & 14. And as promising as Ann & Vogue Italia & Tyra's video editorial were, 15 was a flop, 16 should be added to the bunch as the last authentic ANTM.
Cycle 10 had the most modelesque contestants ever sans Whitney. Still scratching my head today how they WASTED that entire cycle. Cycle 12 was the last time I thought the show stopped taking things seriously. All cycles afterwards been jank and gimmicky

I watched ANTM for the first like 5 seasons til I realized I wasn't gonna get any taller and stopped wanting to be a model or on ANTM. But those first 5 seasons I memorized EVERYTHING Miss.J said and the tip he gave to every girl. I wanted to be the HBIC of the runway if I ever had the chance to be on ANTM.

These two are a delight. I could listen to them for hours and with a smile on my face. There seems to be a genuine friendship and clearly a lot of mutual respect and admiration. And Miss Jay is The Icon.

Mr J i want to ask, 1. Was Adrianne really approached by that creepy man outside her go see location in Paris . Where was the production team and why wasn't that man stopped ? 2. Why was Kesse sabotaged? She was better than Shannon and Robin. 3. Who comes up with the makeovers?
Adrienne has addressed the creepy man and altercation, he was following her for a while she was walking and eventually the crew had to make him leave her alone. The production did do something but they didn’t show it and made the altercation look a lot less severe than it was. She also said she missed a go see (I think) because she stopped and cried on a bench for nearly an hour
Kesse kind of sabatoged herself by skipping the go-see to go shop, but I agree Robin should've gone home over her. Her Parisian underwear pic is one of the worst in ANTM history.
i loved janice on the show.. she was raw and real and provided shock value to the contestants. which is something they will experience out in the work force.
I grew up on ANTM in my 20’s and now obsess over RPDR and my life is so good for it all! I loved Miss Jay and Jay Manuel and my love for them has only grown whilst watching this! Can not wait for more content on this channel. I am 42 and pray to every deity above that I continue to age as well as these two (albeit sans their money and fillers and such). ♥️

At 56 years old, I've watched the show since day 1! To see some of the ladies go on to be successful.. i.e. Yaya and Eva is amazing. They make me proud🤗

Revlon was never gonna give the winner a contract and Wilhelmina wasn't satisfied with Adrianne and signed Elyse after the show. ANTM blamed Revlon and Revlon blamed ANTM. They were fighting for a nonexistent contract sadly
You both have GOT to do a show that upstages TopModel. You KNOW people would watch. Create a network, create a show, promote it, and infuse those personalites to the hilt. Shout out to LEO power!

Why did Tyra never acknowledge Adrianne after season 2? For example in the opening credits of season 4 and 5 and so on, always had pics of the winners, but not Adrianne.
Adrienne didn’t get any of the prizes that were promised to the winner because Wilhelmina and Revlon wanted Elyse and the show liked Adrienne better, so they named her the winner. Revlon and Wilhelmina was P.O.’ed so they refused to give her the contracts. Adrienne was rightfully upset at the situation, so she took her only option which was talk to the press and hopefully they will feel pressured into giving her the prize.Tyra felt betrayed when she went to the press, and washed her hand of her from then.
Thanks for sharing. This was interesting. Im glad they started talking about how ANTM screwed over Adrienne. I hope they talk more about that because it was kind of a huge deal.
I liked the beginning cycles I think it was so authentic. Tyra was very involved and you could tell she was much more interested because she was living her dream. You could tell she genuinely wanted to give these girls her knowledge from being a supermodel so they would have the best chance at being successful. In the latter cycles she was just going through the motions and a lot less interested in the show and the girls becoming working models.
Miss Jay and Jay Manuel did the whole show, they are the people how train models to became models, so they are not the talents, the are the stars. Back in the day they were the representation that we barely have so watching them as a young gay closet gay was just so mesmerizing. Tyra was and is just a talent with money and contacts to sponsor what she wants to do.
In my opinion, the Jays & Nigel carried ANTM. Trya had her moments but the men really stole the show.

You could tell she genuinely wanted to give these girls her knowledge from being a supermodel so they would have the best chance at being successful. In the latter cycles she was just going through the motions and a lot less interested in the show and the girls becoming working models.

Miss Jay and Jay Manuel did the whole show, they are the people how train models to became models, so they are not the talents, the are the stars. Back in the day they were the representation that we barely have so watching them as a young gay closet gay was just so mesmerizing. Tyra was and is just a talent with money and contacts to sponsor what she wants to do.
