I think underneath all the scheming and fraud and lying the Anne scene is one of the absolute best. I'm glad you included it. In that storyline when she's told to leave the department store when she's only half made up is just gut-wrenching. She was no Donna, Joan or Michele but Michelle Philips certainly had good moments.
Roland, I agree with your comments. In the 2008 Reunion Special, Michelle even mentioned this scene as her favorite. Anne was the perfect supporting role especially when storylines began to get tiresome in the latter years. More videos to come soon, thanks for watching. Toni from supersoaps.org.
@@MrCraigblaze Good question! The point was, why didn´t they write good stories for the Williams family? Thanks for watching! Toni from supersoaps.org
@@supersoaps prejudice probably
I loved Michelle Phillips. She was a great actress and held her own.
I loved Michelle Phillips on the show, she’s a good actress. The show had great acting talent to be fair. I still miss this show
Used to watch this every week with my Grandma along with Falcon Crest, gosh I miss the 80's
Num 8 is amazing! I was thinking of this scene, just perfect, writers, actors direction. There are no words needed Gary's actions led to Sids death. He barely tried to stop her,he got it. KL amazing and perfect scenes should have won and been nominated endlessly For Emmys!!😍👏👍 That scene was Emmy worthy for Michelle Lee.
Val seeing the twins first time in slow mo, the Fisher father bringing them home to her when she sits on the stairs, Greg's face when he watches Laura''s Video
KL was a master at moving a scene with only dramatic music. The talented cast could convey so much with no dialogue. That #1 just had me sobbing again 35 years later. Watched the scene on here a few months ago. They should've shown the first part where Harry (Joe Regalbutto) comes to the door and implores Val to let them say goodbye to the twins, as they are leaving town. Once Val, Karen, Lilimae, and Joshua guardedly step outside, you can see how each is affected by the obvious emotional agony the FIshers are in-especially Sheila. That music kills me because it is the same music that played in one that definitely should've ranked as an honorable mention: the moment where Val goes to the Fishers' and has what she knew all along: that she was not crazy and her babies were indeed alive. When she stares at Betsy in disbelief and whips her head around to see Bobby for the first time in the passenger seat of Harry Fisher's car, as he is being spirited away. The slow-mo of the last few minutes and the freeze frame on Val at the end should've placed on this list.
So true olhead69! As you must remember, the scene was much longer but I had to cut the beginning and the end so the video wasn´t too long. Nowadays no show (with few exceptions) feature such long scenes with no dialogues unless they are action scenes. Thank you for your feedback! Toni from supersoaps.org
@@supersoaps oh yes, I know editing can be a real challenge. Such a great job with the montage. Really enjoyed seeing snippets I hadn't seen in almost 30 years. Such great memories. Thanks so much for posting it.
Two more on my list would have been Laura driving from the Sumner Ranch to the hospice and the scene where Karen walks down that hall at the hospital when she realizes Sid didn't survive the operation. Good list though!! That scene with Lillie Mae hitting Chip is really crazy - if I were Karen, I'd never ride with Lillie Mae again!! :D
SweptAway529, thanks for your suggestions. As usual, there is a reason for these absences: both were included in the Best Episodes video! I try not to repeat the clips. Keep on watching, more videos will come soon. Toni from supersoaps.org
lol!
hi! i would've added these two: (1) greg's scene on the bench when he finds out laura was dying/had died (he was tearing up behind his dark sunglasses); and (2) karen & val's breakdown scene during laura's memorial. both tops for me!
Joey/Sam de Guzman Absolutely! The “Greg scene” was extremely powerful.
Joey, I did remember 1) but preferred the other options. 2) had dialogues in it, so I left it out. Anyway, they were great and might make it in any other list here. Thanks for your feedback and keep watching! Toni from supersoaps.org
@@supersoaps 1) is much better than much of what you chose as William Devane was the best male actor on the show (and second only to Julie Harris of the entire cast) and brilliantly conveyed emotions without dialogue or overt action. Sorry to see that he is once again overlooked in this KL tribute.
No. 4 is my personal favourite, seeing the child-like wonder in Val when she sees the ocean for the first time has always been a firm favourite of mine
I was shocked that Karen being told that Sid died during surgery was not on this list. I thought they made the list up just to show that scene, to be honest. lol
That scene was one of the first silent scenes that went down in TV that was riveting. But... whatever lol
I totally agree. That was a brilliant scene.
Awesome video and I completely agree with your Number One and Two. Number One just breaks my heart every time I watch it.
Please continue with more of these little videos on Knots Landing. It wasn't always the highest rated of the supersoaps however given that the series was pitted against the likes of Hill Street Blues, LA Law and Cheers in its timeslot, it performed remarkably well and was hands down the best quality of the big four. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for your kind words WillMeganFan! More videos to come. Toni from supersoaps.org
Thank you for posting and reminding me that it's the 40 anniversary of one of my favorite shows. I grew up watching NL. These videos bring back indelible memories. THANK YOU AGAIN ❤
Thank you for watching Clarence! It´s been a nice surprise to see the positive reaction of my videos last year and the necessary feedback you all are giving! It´s the best motivation to go on with it! Toni from supersoaps.org
💚 BEST SHOW ever 💚 and I loved the show columbo
My favorite brilliant silence scenes from KL will always be(And I haven't seen the end of this video) The cliffhanger for the season of Cijis's death-Karen's discovery that Diana has left with criminal Chip,Valene sitting after talking to Gary who is being held in jail on a murder charge,Abby in thought, finally Gary in jail ending in a black and white freeze, like a newspaper picture. Amazing stunning and memorable. Ok just saw num 1 great but No in my opinion num 2 placement I would agree with, but absolutely no mention of my top choice,SMH 😒 Great vid though. And no mention of Laura's exit driving silently away to die by herself😥
I remember somewhere in Season 7, I think... Gary and Val, long divorced share a knowing look that these two are bonded forever.
I just watched the #1 scene for the first time the other day, and it made me cry. Very powerful
If nobody saw Knots Landing before and saw these, they would think it was set in a Mental Asylum!!!...LOL!!
Sure they would! Thanks for watching! Toni from supersoaps.org
Now that is good TV
Btw, Gary deserved the slapping. He didn’t even act like he cared Sid was dead. Loved Laura tearing apart the kitchen!!!!
Michelle Phillips rocked!
00:40. I always do light house/yard work while wearing slacks, dress shoes and shirt.
Really great list. And interesting idea for a list too.
Wonderful list - as always.
Dom, thanks for your words! Toni from supersoaps.org
supersoaps My pleasure. I love your vids - so appreciate all the work and love that go into them.
Awesome video, Knots Landing was my second favorite night time soap,Great scene choices.
Mine too, dallasewings! I hope you can notice that in the videos...Thanks for your feedback! Toni from supersoaps.org
The female trifecta of Lee, Mills, Van Ark IS the show.
I cant think of a better trio of actors, on the level are: Hagman, Gray, Duffy...
Remember is......life. 2020 thanks super soaps. Up now
KL was always superior in storylines, even if their ratings weren’t on par with Dallas or Dynasty. Those shows tanked hard yet KL kept its standards, for the most part.
they should have had these scenes be part of the top 10 tour de force performances.lol!
I thought I had figured out your #1 halfway through this list lol I was wrong
Thanks a lot for your feedback Dimitri! As I say, all clips are good silent scenes but every Top list needs a Number 1! More videos soon! Toni from supersoaps.org
@1:35 This episode actually aired on May 9, 1991, not May 16, 1991. Knots aired two episodes back to back for its season finale on May 9, 1991
Robert, I knew that "Dead Skunk" was the alt title of Part 2 of the Season Finale, but I couldn´t find online (IMDb, tv.com...) anything confirming that episode was aired on May 9. Thanks a lot for your attention for details anyway, and for watching!! Toni from supersoaps.org
02:50 There was a bit of dialogue.
WHERE ARE THE DVDS?????
Lillie mae was such a pain in the ass.
Poor, poor Lilimae... She just wanted to be a staah! Thanks for your feedback Sal! Toni from supersoaps.org
@@supersoaps no problem. Produce good stuff.. have we done one on the best storylines?
@@supersoaps anyone know if Knots Landing will be going to any streaming site, Amazon Prime maybe? We have the damn Colbys on DVD for freaks sake, but not the entirety of KNOTS, the single best Soap opera ever.
@@CaptainSpalding72 Sal, I take your suggestion! Next month one of the videos will be for it! Thanks a lot! Toni
@@CaptainSpalding72 There are rumors, but it´s only that, rumors. Streaming will need a lot of hours for their channels and the 90s shows are all practically "taken". What else is out there to re-run? Knots is in high demand, and though Falcon Crest will not be remastered, it could be on streaming too. But it´s only wishful thinking. Keep you updated Sal! Thanks for your comments! Toni
