Look- ducks have been proven to exist in every environment known to man- but when's the last time the CG Industry gave them the representation they deserved? Put em in your scenes! Have em drifting in the background! Do whatever!

RUclips Blender Tutorials: What's up everybody my name is Mister Blender Tutorial Guy and today I'm going to show you guys how to...
IanHubert: And you're done.
Actually a lot of blender tutorial channels started to make tutorials like him, for example CGmatter, his previous tutorials were quick and understandable, now they are more quick than understandable, just like IanHubert
@@רפאל-ב I think it's good. It teaches you the rough outline whilst leaving you to go and search for how to do the exact specifics. Unless you are a complete beginner you don't need to know that E is extrude and you don't need to know how to model a duck. But almost every tutorial shows it when you really just wanna know the rough steps
@@רפאל-ב Nah. CG Matter is quick, but not very understandable. But Ianhubert is quick AND understandable.
Da fuck both of your comments are written right to left because of the (Arabic?) name! I've never seen that before dayym
I am confused by this name
with this knowledge I can make the sequel to duck.exe
Werid seeing you here
Hi DeSinc :)
Hey uhh when are you gonna upload some half life 2?
maybe play some half life 1 mods?
yes
I am VASTLY impressed how you make the finished render look real.
I think I also saw a moth, or two, which really kicks up the realism.
*MOTHS*
@@QuantumPolagnus omg you're right he added 2 !
@@vlc-cosplayer I have what some of my friends call an "extreme problem" with perfection. Basically once I know how stuff is made, I can never appreciate the end result. It drives me crazy because I know the limitations to what is real and can never get over that, no matter how good other people think my work is.
Anyone that can help a guy out with some render settings? I'm using default Eevee and mine does not look as great as the one in the tutorial, struggling with the water a bit aswell
And just like moths, ducks add realism to everything.
now I wanna see ducks swimming on a space station
I'm pretty sure I saw a couple moths in the background of the final render.
water mirrored moths!
@@QuantumPolagnus Omg I missed those ! Couldn't spot any fish tho
I lost it when he bouncing the Duck
Woooh!

Mr. Duck used SPLASH! But nothing happened..

And earlier today i was like "Hmm, IanHubert didn't post a tutorial in a while".
Same actually xD
Me too
Same here xD
Damn, I am always late to the party.
his tutorials are probably really long and then he has to figure out how to make them short.
you've saved my life
How?
@@BeAmazedGuy he had to make a project in blender about two ducks on a foggy morning
@@kaliyuga1476 he was also held at gunpoint, hence the life-saving
Are you a duck?
duck tales, woohoo!
The scene looks incredibly realistic, thanks to the moths.
This is the blender version of the classic RUclips series “you suck at photoshop” tutorials, and equally as brilliant. Keep up the good work, these are amazing.
Oh I remember those too, he was hilarious. Ian should do one about pawning off his Blender ring.
deltaray3, Shazam!
I don’t even use blender what am I doing here

Learning about DUCKS!!
Did you know that the average duck...
Is often referred to, as DUCK?!
CHAN ChAN CHAAAAAN
Getting your spirit lifted and putting a smile on your face. It's a flock of ducks thing -like love. 😁
Same. But getting pretty tempted after watching these xD
It still amazes me that he can actually explain it with all the steps in just about a minute
"The duck shall be the brush, and the water the canvas!"
I lost it at surface-type waves 🤣
"Don't overthink it, they sure don't"
... just felt like this should be quoted
At 0:59 you actually do see the moths for realism! ;)
this guys is the kind of people who can put all the knowledge of existence in one short video
next video title "A brief history of CGI"
@@lordofudead or whatever
I dont trust ducks. They seem planing for something
Yeah, the cats told me something similar 😏
And don't get me started on the squirrels... :-p
@@alexnurse3498 squirrel already take over the wolrd dude

Anatidaephobia - fear that a duck is watching you from somewhere. Maybe you have a reason to be paranoid.
Flipped Normals: Never model with subdivision surface on.
IanHubert: Don't overthink it too much.
"SUrFacE TypES WaVEs, WOOOOOOO!"
I could watch this for an hour
Well... I guess you'd see it about 60 times then. lol
I don´t know what fascinates me the most: the smart commenting in the video voice or the fact I just thought of a 100 new ideas on the paint/canvas combo. :D Great vid!
;)
*_But can we teach them to love?_*
Duck love is borderline rape...
This is so well said 😭😭😭
Ian: doesn't decimate the default cube
Me: mommy CGmatter im scared
XD
CGMatter holy heck you actually responded :O
Dang!! I’m always so suprised how realistic it looks
Instructions unclear. Duck got stuck in blender and there is a mess in my kitchen. (It was very animated, though.)
So he used the default cube
What a brave move
I love everything about lazy tutorials
these videos made me realise that you dont need super high quality for everything in blender
I know how to make realistic moths and now I know how to make realistic ducks....
I feel invincible.
I read “Ducks in a Blender” and was really concerned why this was in my recommended.
Lol. That would have interesting flavor. Fat, bones, blood and feathers. Would definitely have a unique taste.
If this was made in the 80's, it'd be ducktape
this is seriously a museum piece. this should be on the golden record aboard voyager.
I downloaded blender because of this guy, everything sounds so simple within his lips. Like Baaamm!! Now go change d world!
It's not exactly a beginner tutorial. Blender guru has a great beginner tutorial, though.
Today a duck called me an idiot but thanks to this video I feel better.
So much well done this makes downloading Blender the hardest part.
I have never seen dynamic paint you sir are a life changer
when a one minute tutorial is more helpful, than a 20min one xD
but still he not explain the lighting!
@Hydrogen I know, that's why a longer tutorial is much better, because if you follow this tutorial here, you get a black screen!

Could you post the original recording like on the building tutorial? Thanks!
Yeah! I'll try to get it up later today. This video capture was a bit of a scramble, since I decided to re-order stuff halfway through recording.
Wait what, am I missing something here. Original recording?
@@ThisIsNotWhatItLooksLik In his building tutorial, he also posted the entire recording, so we could see his workflow, which is easier for newer users (like me!)
@@gqmeknight Found it, this is great. Ian's great... Now I can see how long it actually takes and yes some of those extra steps. I love it.
@@gqmeknight there is nothing on that channel..
I just opened my blender and your video was over. Now I have one cube, one camera and one light. I'm happy.
Give the cube a subsurf modifi-
FlippedNormals: Are we a joke to you?
While I get the joke, it's worth pointing out that the modifier is actually Applied in this case.
they told not to edit in subsurf with 'oncage edit' on.
try modeling with the edge crease/subsurf workflow with that shit disabled... :')
I don't know why I keep seeing these one-minute tutorials but I like them
I thought we were just animating ducks, not animating a whole fricking duck pond!
Every time I watch these I feel like I just got off a roller coaster that was MUCH more intense than I expected.
Your videos are a real treat. I like to get comfy and prepare a snack ahead of watching.
Due to time restraints, the snack generally ends up being half a piece of popcorn, half a potato chip, or the smell of a slice of pizza.
I completely fucking lost it when the duck was splashing the water. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS LAZY TUTORIAL PLEASE DONT STOP EVER
0:40 forget about ducks, i want to animate this
Do you mean surface type : waves?
ZeeNotZed no, i mean throwing a duck in the water over and over
Well 0:41 is the right timespan for it

Am I the only one who read this as “animate ducks in a blender?”

UNTITLED DUCK GAME coming soon
It's becoming every time better. One day it will be like: Make a Pixar production in Blender - Lazy Tutorials. No doubt, it will work.
Heeey i was just thinking about you!
Now we can decorate our space stations with moths, fish and ducks.
That would be so realisic, I could easily convince scientists to believe some weird conpiracy theories when I show them my rendered scenes
Education System: Am I joke to you?
as an absolute beginner this took 5 HOURS but it was totally worth it thanks ian
I found out about dynamic paint by watching this video and I am beyond amazed that after almost three and a half years of trying to learn at least the basics of this program there still will be fundamentals i have no idea about...
Funny thing is the hardest part of this tutorial is finding the image of the duck with a perfect side on view.
This guy just explained fog, modeling, animating and UV mapping in one minute

It’s so impressive on how such little effort can be put into such an amazing render. Teach me your ways
I've never actually used blender but I'll sure as hell watch all of your uploads
using emission nodes as volumes saved my life thank you
i just check youtube and my mails to see if there is a new IanHubert video in the internet. Didn't had this feeling in a long time. WHen you are on a level like Ian, you have maybe no idea how extremely helpful these videos are.
I don't think I ever want to animate ducks in my life but I'm fucking glad I watched this

Dude I freekin love these tutorials. They are quick, fun and give people tons of ideas. Nice one.

I have studied digital music composing
I gave up on 3d animation because it's too hard
Now, youre pulling me back to it
Project from view was a literal life saver I didn't know I needed. I'm a beginner in blender and I get some legitimate useful tips from these lazy tutorials
There's a lot of cool stuff tucked into these tutorials, they are almost like a guide as to what features to study into, blender has so many features it's hard to get going any any direction
Me playing games wondering how they go about animation background stuff this was certainly eye opening. I clicked on the video on accident and this is the best accident that has ever occurred to me.
Ducks are underrated, honestly. You're the best for shining light on this beautiful animal. I give all my thanks to you. Also, I think that you can add moths to the ducks so that there's more realism, I guess.
i had no idea what this dude was talking about yet i was still entertained
6 ducks out of 5 👌
I don't even know what this software is for but I'm still 100% here for these videos
Blender 2.80
this is the longest a minute has ever felt to me
It's incredible how natural and stylized looks
I love your videos, I have seen just couple of them, but man, gotta watch them all soon
fascinating how you manage to do these short tutorials without making them feel rushed.
Joe Banks, 82 years young has come to this pond for the last seventeen years to feed the ducks. But last month, he made a discovery; the ducks were gone. Some say the ducks went to Canada, others say Toronto. And some people think Joe used to sit down over there near those ducks. But it could be that there's no room in this modern world for an old man and his ducks.
Funniest Blender channel in existence, hands down.
Moths just go nuts, but ducks butt wiggle without overthinking it
Damn. You can't beat Blender in the hands of this guy.
Stop disliking his videos you fools....this guy is a genius!!
