Congrats on such a beautiful watch. Lange’s aesthetics, attention to detail and approach to innovation put it in a class of its own. I hope to add one to my collection sooner than later.
I know I’m in the minority, but I like the ALS 1815 annual calendar much more than either the Lange1 or any of the models with outsized date. There is something about the balance and beauty of this model that just sings to me. On the brown alligator strap and with rose gold…my grail watch.
It’s a beautiful watch! The intro made me a little sad because that watch shouldn’t need ANY filters. Just natural light and a good camera and you’re golden. Other than that, superb video! Wear in good health!
UptickWatchReviews Hey you don’t know till you try! Still love the videos! This is just a grail that I’ve got to handle at the AD in Costa Mesa and love so much (in rose gold). So just had to say I was a wee bit sad that my grail didn’t look as nice in the intro hahaha. Keep up the great work!
That Lange is a complete stunner!! Congratulations, wear it in good health. You have a fabulous collection- is there anything on the horizon you are considering (not that you need anything)? Best regards
Krist Johnson Thanks Krist! That’s a good question. I’ve been consolidating to own less but only high quality and collectibles. Let’s see how I get on with the gold JLC that I will present soon (there’s a glimpse of it in this video). It’s not as ergonomic as the Lange so it might be the subject of a trade towards a two-tone Daytona (not very original), a Vacheron Overseas or AP RO Dual Time (steel stunner), a Patek or a JLC Duometre A Quantième Lunaire which I find fascinating but might not be that great day-to-day. Then there’s the Vacheron Les Historiques Chronograph that I find superb and is well discounted secondhand. Given how much the equivalent Patek (as in same base movement) goes for, it’s decent value. If money was no object, an F. P. Journe or the new Lange Zeitwerk Datewould be great. What do you think?
Gorgeous watch but probably the first one from your collection I wouldn't buy for myself. Also what happened to the PP? Replaced by the gold worldtime memovox?
You have just purchased one of my Grail watches... Congratulations. On another related subject, I'm an International US Airline pilot who is in Honk Kong twice a month, sometimes more. I spend a lot of my time on Canton Road in Kowloon at the various watch boutiques. In fact I tried on this exact watch last week. I can get this watch new on the grey market here in the USA for $29,995 USD no tax or shipping. What kind of pricing am I looking at for one used, in very nice condition in HK? Where are good areas or specific shops that you know and trust in HK where I might look? Also, I purchased my first luxury Swiss watch, a Rolex GMT Master 16750 Pepsi in Hong Kong in Dec 1983 at the old China Fleet Club British Military Exchange (Artland Watch Co.). I still have this watch and it's my favorite. We have similar collections and taste as I also have a Speedy Moon, a JLC Reverso Grand 976 and I have black Dial Sky Dweller that should be in my collection early next year, plus others. It would be nice to find the ALS 1815 like yours soon as it will be my exit/retirement watch. Any information or help is appreciated. Cheers... Curtis - Southern California.
Curtis Arndt Hi Curtis, I have seen a similar, slightly higher, grey market price here but nothing significantly lower on the used market. For reference mine was about 12% less than that but I was trading in something of value so honestly I think dealer prices have been caught up by the grey market. Look around a bit but that grey market price is worth going for if that’s your grail watch and you might actually see higher prices used. In HK, most dealers are between Yau Ma Tei and Mongkok (careful these days going there as you might breathe in tear gas). Kenwatches is a good dealer on HK side. Your best chance for a good deal is buying from an individual but with no guarantee for damages. I love this watch, good luck!

I usually see those around the $30k+ mark but I got mine around 26k by going to a dealer and trading in something. My argument there was that I could get a brand new one from a grey dealer for 30k so I got a larger discount. Best of luck
It’s not a big difference so maybe for the peace of mind it’s worth getting it new. I’m happy with my purchase but noticed a couple of nicks in the bezel later on. It’s such a nice watch that you might wanna get a brand new piece.
An A Lange watch is my ultimate grail watch! A true work of art that can be worn and enjoyed.
what can you say... everything L&S does nowadays is the best in its category. I love them

Agreed wholeheartedly
Your best watch yet. Congratulations, wear it in good health!
Incredible buy, just WOW!
Wow wow wow, the perfect choice, the best of the best, Congratulations 🎉👏🏼👌🏼
What a fantastic review. Appealing watch to watch.
The man in the moon was a nice touch! Excellent review.
Can't fault you with going with Lang over Patek. The front is a far more legible, the back more beautiful.
Wow!!!! Amazing watch!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Wear it in good health!
About the best looking watch.
Wise choice vs PP...enjoy and wear in good health for many years. Look forward to the JLC video soon. Salutations ⌚👍💪🇩🇪
David Williams Danke Shön!
David Williams Thanks David, that JLC is gonna “wake you up”! Wink wink
I loved the review and commentary, very unique, fun and informative. Thank you!
Wow, gorgeous piece! Congrats!
Beautiful watch!
Very nice, I like the dial layout more than PP’a you were looking at. That silver dial is gorgeous 🤩
I think I have watched this about 10 times now 😂 I definitely want this or the 1815 Up/Down (if I can find one at a reasonable price and condition)

Daniel Loera Haha, I did debated that bit. At least know that I played that weird noise in the intro with my own grubby fingers.

Daniel Loera I think none of the shots really do justice to how it dazzles in person.
A. Lange❤❤❤❤
You stepped into another league my friend. Congratulations 👍
Whoa! That’s something else... congratulations!
Love the content, review, and humor! Subbed :)
Excellent video my friend. Wear this masterpiece in great health!!
Congrats great pick
also was trying A Lange and PP at dealer. A Lange looks so much better on my wrist (5’11 but thick wrist )
Congrats. Great choice

👏🏼
i made the exact same choice when i compared the two
beautiful watch indeed ! also the 10 watch box really nice can you tell me the make and model .thank you
Thank you for the thorough review! A quick question: Is it possible to read the date at a glance? many people complain it's not!
To be honest it’s... not.

@@UptickWatchReviews Thank you for the timely reply. I'll be in HK on the 28th - 29th and will have some fun looking around.
Curtis Arndt Fun is an understatement given that the neighborhoods where most watch shops are located are literally on fire lately.

The deployment clasp costs $7300...OMG
How much does the maintenance cost on something like this? And how frequent is it?
I want one. 👍
Gorgeous piece. By the time you have to adjust that moon phase, Hong Kong will probably be the capital of China, lol.
What a piece of art. Don't wear it playing basketball though 😛🏀🏀
Nixxtrr Strictly in the office indeed. I walk outside with it rather nervously.
Very nice watch. I am considered to buy one. Which price range should be a safe buy in pre owned one? Thank you

Thank you so much for your information. I saw lots of brand new around 31k now but as you say I may go for pre own for like 5k discount.

Are you in Hong Kong?
