I've been to a couple of Vulcan live fires in Crete and McGregor Range at Fort Bliss. Brings back some great memories. The Phalanx CIWS defense system the Navy has today is nothing more than a modernized version of the Vulcan. These Gatling guns still have a viable place on the battlefield.

Just a rough estimate, it's about 1:30 of actual firing. $520 per second times 90 seconds is roughly $46,800 USD for firing for a minute and a half. Now(lol) multiply that by how many guns of that type in use and how often they are fired. Now I know where my tax dollars go.

from what I've heard this version of the m134 minigun is the newest addition to the us military arsenal and I've also heard my country Canada may have some interest in this version we already use the standard m134 minigun

@@danieldorn9989 Not quite accurate. The minigun weapons system was dropped after Viet Nam after it was found to be problematic clearing jams. Mike Dillon bought the rights to the system, redesigned it and began selling it back to the military.
