These gun trucks were behind me on convoys. I was the wrecker operator and the last vehicle in the convoy. Always reassuring to have these guys watching my back. 2/35 Artillery Bn Maint.
I liked seeing these quads again. I don’t know where you got these pictures. The first picture American Breed I took outside HHQ 4/60 in Ankhe in August 1970. They were there to take me to my “new home” in Pleiku. It was my first ride on a Quad 50. Truck The Butchers/ Widow Maker guns I took outside our hooch on Artillery Hill in Pleiku. Don’t remember the date but sometime 70-71. It was hit by a 122mm rocket at Tahn Canh and was converted to truck Alive N Kickin/ Everyday People guns. Picture taken on Artillery Hill Pleiku. That was my truck and guns until unit was deactivated and shipped back to USA. I also took the picture of truck Hired Killers/ Madman guns on Arty Hill, Pleiku.
Wow. We may have met at either Arty Hill or the E/41 bay of the 4/60th Motor Pool, or E/41hootch. I was a vehicle mechanic with E/41 Dec 69 to Nov 70. I was involved with the painting of the boxed tailgates of Hired Killers and The Butchers.

There is a good example of a quid 50 in the book Ever Vigilant, a must read
Korean vet told me they had quads on jeeps. But you could only fire them forwards or backwards. If fired side to side it would tip the jeep.
I love gun trucks.
The french used them at dbp
