My dad was a truck master in Vietnam and I had many of these photos years ago that got lost along the way. Thank you for these memories I lost my father in 84 .sure do miss him. Master Sgt R Spradlin RIP.
Thank you for the memories good and bad. I was on Quad 50s in Pleiku on Arty Hillfrom 70-72. We ran convoys daily. The sights through Mang Yang Pass (sic) and Ankhe Pass bring back so many stories. I always had the creeps going through Mang Yang Pass thinking about all of the French soldiers buried there. After passing the Ankhe Pass felt “safe” knowing the ROCs were guarding the bridges all the way to QL1 and on to Tuy Hoa. It’s been a long time.
I was at Holloway 9/66-9/67 We had the forward depot for construction supplies. We worked at Check point 88 directing trucks to different locations so they could make the last convoy at 3pm. William
Drove a 18 wheel fuel tanker for two tours. Scared the hell out of me sometimes but would not change. Met some great people and have some great memories. Some good, some bad but all are mine .
I was a wrecker driver/operator when the regular guy went home, even though my MOS was 63c20, track/wheel mechanic. Spent A LOT of time on the road in convoys. Driving, repairing and towing vehicles.WHAT A GAS MAN. Always glad to have those quad 50's behind me on convoy. Bob Bielsky 2/35 Arty.
Fantastic video Grace soundtrack💯☺️💕 My father was Motor T. He got hit two times travel these roads. I have a better perspective of what he went through. Thank you so much for sharing.💯💕☺️

This Photo of Cold Sweat is after we got hit with an ED and Randy was KIA. We repainted with no white outline on the Letters. Added miniguns in the Back tire box on both sides as well.
I missed out on Vietnam with turning 18 in 1973 and a very high draft number but the more I read and see about the gun trucks is they are uniquely American in how they were built and how they were used.
@ 6:49 Quad Fifty, Quad .50, gun truck, I cannot make out the name on the tailgate, but it appears to be consistent with how most of the Guntrucks of Battery E, 41st Artillery attached to the 4th Battalion 60th Arty were configured. Myself being a mechanic for E/41 1969-1970 at An Khe.
My dad, Harold Slaven, was drafted 69-70. He delivered fuel and was a mechanic. I have both of his photo albums and there is a truck named Satans Hired Guns . Did any of you know this truck or my dad?
For a year my driver and I visited fire support bases around Tay Ninh 1969-70. About two weeks before rotating USARV mandated all vehicles leaving MSR (main supply route) would be in a three vehicle convey minimum with lead and trail vehicles equipped with automatic weapons. We drove it a year just the two of us.
